From helping with finding just the right piece of furniture, to helping put together reasonable packages, to convincing you that something might, or might not, be the right fit for you. She was the star of our experiences there. So far, we have 2 sets of furniture consisting of 12 pieces that fit our new home perfectly and I'm convinced there will be more in our future. We have a relationship with Home Again and I expect it to be a long one.

When I brought it up, the owner questioned me aggressively and even raised his voice while I was still shopping in the aisles. He asked why the bottle I was bringing back was empty, which felt unreasonable--I wasn't sure if he expected me to bring back a half-finished drink. The situation was embarrassing and uncomfortable. I wouldn't have made a big deal about a refund, but the way I was treated made this experience unacceptable. I hope the business improves on how customers are treated.

What makes Mel's Habitat different from other local consignment shops is that it caters to individuals. They were friendly and helpful. The clothes were arranged by size and color, and are spread out, not tightly hung together. The items I looked at were gently used. I found a pair of like-new black dress sandals for $12 that I'll wear next spring. I considered a like-new pair of cowboy boots for $20, but I have a pair that I need to wear more. I tried on a pretty dress by Banana Republic for $12 that will look better on someone else. They had accessories, too. This is a lovely store in a strip mall with a parking lot.
