As a guy I wouldn't…read morenormally think of buying a candle, but to buy a candle that looks like my favorite beer, exotic drink, or shot, now that's a different story. These candles look so much like a real drink that I've actually received strange reactions from friends, colleagues, and clients who mistakenly thought I had a real alcoholic drink on my desk. Then I burned them and in no time my office smelled amazing, and they burned forever. I've even given some of the "normal" container candles they make as gifts for family and friends and they all loved the strong yet pleasant aromas they give off. I visited Cork and Candles on a Monday with a friend as a fun day activity. We had booked a 1 PM…read moreappointment in advance and paid a $50 deposit. However, when we arrived, the door was locked and no one appeared to be there. We waited outside for about 20 minutes, trying to contact the business by phone and through their Instagram page, but received no response. Eventually, we left and walked over to McCormick & Schmick's a few blocks away to get drinks and hopefully hear back. After an hour with no update, we decided to stroll around Center City and make the most of our day. Around 5:45 PM, I finally received a call from a staff member who apologized and explained she hadn't seen our messages and she was actually at home at the time. She offered to reschedule us for the next day at 3 PM. We accepted, but since we were still in the area, we called back and asked if we could come "now". She agreed, and we walked back over for a 6PM session. Once there, we were offered wine for purchase and water which we accepted. We got to make two candles each. She walked us through the process and told us to pick out our scents. The music playing added to a fun, laid-back vibe. Despite the earlier miscommunication, the overall experience was enjoyable, and I would definitely consider going again.

She showed us around and explained that the candles are all eco friendly, and that you can bring in your empty jars to get refilled! She makes jarred candles, but also decorative varieties like tea cup candles, "beach" lanterns, and candle holders. I got the English Garden jar candle, and it comes with a local Lewes shell on it, so pretty! The candle smells amazing and has a slow burn, which is great! I followed their comprehensive instructions for their warranty. The tree died and today I returned it. First they started with their policy is for sale items not being under warranty. It is very clearly under warranty with the warranty printed on the back of the receipt. Then I mentioned if they sell a tree it should be viable and well or else they shouldn't sell it. They agreed. They would not replace it with the same since I purchased on sale. They then they had a perennial 50% off on their front sign, but they were unable to honor it. A perennial is a plant that lives for at least two years and regrows each spring, offering a low-maintenance, long-term addition to gardens, landscapes, and agriculture. These plants, which include flowers, vegetables, trees, shrubs, and grasses, provide lasting beauty and structure to a garden, as their deep root systems also offer environmental benefits like soil retention and nutrient reach. The man and woman working their called the owner, and he apparently yelled at them according to what they said. In order to get a replacement it would cost me about $230 additional to replace the tree purchased last year. All I would like was a tree that is healthy and will live more than a few months. I received a refund for $79.97 in store credit, but asked for a credit by payment method because I won't be their customer anymore because they have made it clear they have no interest in healthy plants or satisfied customers.
