For my birthday, my husband took the time to find a unique jeweler that would be able to make me an original replacement engagement/wedding band set. I had found out several years before that I was allergic to my white gold set that he bought for me prior to being engaged! It just happened that this year is our 10 year anniversary as well! When first proposing my idea to Yaneth, I had several doubts that she would be able to bring them to life! I researched several of my favorite designs and had sent her photos of the rings I had found online! I asked for dual toned (it had to be platinum on the inside), a flower/leaf theme, and a simply elegant band! Yaneth responded very quickly with four or five different designs all unique of eachother! I liked one part of one and one part of another. Yaneth took my opinions and returned with two additional designs, one of which i LOVED! After this, I made 1 or 2 tweaks! Yaneth was able to steer me toward and away certain ideas I had and gave me many Many options of stones, plus she knew loads of information about all of them. I came into Yaneth Reyes Jewelry after inquiring "on the corner" about fixing an old setting. I felt I was given a very fair price in a very welcoming environment. I appreciated the advice given which confirmed what I had learned from several other jewelers around the greater DC area. After placing the repair order, I casually inquired about resetting the stone instead of repairing the ring, and they were informative and helpful providing several options and estimates without any pressure at all. The design estimate was also very fair. I have never designed a piece of jewelry before and was nervous, but after deciding to reset instead of repair, I felt the entire transaction from inquiry to design to delivery was a joint collaboration between myself and the owner-designers to create a piece perfect for me. I am very satisfied with the quality and workmanship and have had many compliments about my new piece. In addition, they stand behind their work and offer aftercare for their customers' pieces. Regardless of other reviews, steer clear for repairs here.... I thought I was saavy in recognizing quality jewelers who could handle repairs...not so much. I had my Mom's 2+ carat ring which was diamonds - a beautiful, old cocktail ring. I had Yaneth rebuild the prongs just last year (2018). Skip to June 2019 and I looked down and my 2+ carat diamond was GONE from the setting! Panic! I ended up finding it in the sink drain. Thank God. Just recently got around to taking it to a REAL jeweler in Gburg and he showed me what she had done - the setting was too small for the diamond and, instead of using platinum, she'd used white gold. The jeweler in Gburg told me it was amazing the diamond held as long as it did. Skip to jewelry piece #2: I have an emerald necklace on a chain. The top was wearing thin as it moves on the chain. I had her rebuild the loop - once again, had it looked at and it was almost worn though in 8 short months. Should never have happened, especially as I hadn't worn it full time. Piece #3: An ebel watch which was sent out for 'repair' 3 times. Never worked right, ever. They fought me about getting my money back even though the watch never again kept time. They might look good but I wouldn't go in there if forced. Steer clear. read more

I have window shopped this store for years and admired their jewelry. Today, I was out and about in town and decided to finally go in. I was looking for a ring for myself and a small necklace for my granddaughter. I was utterly ignored. No greeting. They didn't say they'd be with me in a minute. The opal from my mother's engagement ring from 1943 fell out. I took it to Yaneth Reyes who repaired it beautifully, tightened all the prongs and made the ring look brand new. I should also say I first took it to Colonial Jewlers as a friend of my daughter worked there. They refused to to do the work. Terrible terrible. Purchased a pearl ring from this shop, was happy with it. The band broke on it, so brought it back to get fixed. When I went to pick it up, they had switched out the real pearl on the ring with a fake plastic piece. I did not notice until weeks later, when the paint on it started to chip. Months later, my sister goes to fix her pearl ring, and brings it to this shop. They switch out her pearl for a plastic piece. Very similar story. She immediately goes to a different jeweler to ask if it is indeed fake, and it is. She goes right back to the shop and reprimands them, but they say the stone was not real to begin with. So why would they switch it out then? Because they are crooks. Do not bring your jewelry to this store. read more
