We've had nothing but great experiences with Dr. Cohen and his staff. The office is clean and makes it pleasant for the kids. I've been in multiple times and have always trusted and respected Dr. Cohens advice. He doesn't like to push x-rays, he does like to get them when they are over 2 but if the kids don't sit for them he says it's fine and waits for the next visit. He doesn't like exposing them to the radiation, he will wait till he is 100% positive the kid needs something like a root canal, he isn't procedure happy. He is very patient with the kids, I have one very shy son and he has never been afraid here. When you bring in the kids at 1 and 2yrs old he does a great job of making sure he goes at their pace and comfort. I found his office through a friend who owns many adult dentist offices, and I asked who is the best to take kids to, he said Dr. cohen and I have not regretted my decision taking my 4 kids here. read more

We are so happy here. We have been going here for over 7 years. Dr. Cohen is the gentlest pediatric dentist in the business. He puts people at ease and is very honest and conservative with procedures. My kids absolutely love him and all the hygienists. The office is clean and comfortable and the front desk people are very friendly and helpful. read more

Review Dr. Cohen was our 3rd professional opinion with a pediatric dentist, and the first office I didn't leave in tears. As soon as we met Dr. Cohen, we immediately knew we found our place. He is kind, gentle, and amazing with kids!! My son is 7 and had to have multiple visits, he didn't ONCE feel fear or nervousness walking in the door and I completely credit Dr. Cohen and his amazing staff! I mean, my kid is definitely awesome, but this was a tough situation and any child would understandably start to become worried..that was not the case for my son at all. Dr. Cohen absolutely went above and beyond for us. He even referred us out at one point for a complicated extraction with an oral surgeon (who was also awesome). That is proof to me of the thought and care he puts into his patient's treatment plans. He was always very forthcoming with us about everything. He and his staff seriously calmed MY nerves most of the times we came in ha! We are forever grateful to Brandi for recommending him and bringing us to this one of a kind pediatric dental office! I can't even begin to explain the relief I feel that he finished our son's treatment plan SO quickly and without causing any lasting fears for him. They all made him feel so special and comfortable every time we walked in, that is so invaluable. It is so great to know we have such a wonderful and trustworthy place for our 3 boys!!! If you need a pediatric dental office, this is absolutely the place! It's hard to explain how grateful I feel with how it all went, so so relieved!! read more

Dr. Cohen came as a recommendation from my son's pediatrician. He is EXCELLENT with kids. My son (33 months) has been to the dentist twice now and loves it. He's had his teeth cleaned, examined, xrays and flouride treatment without so much as a peep. In fact, he likes going to the dentist. How many kids actually like going to the dentist? Dr. Cohen is wonderful, as is his entire staff. The office is clean, with a movie room and plenty of books. They even give kids sunglasses to wear so that the bright overhead light doesn't blind them :o) If you are in the N. Scottsdale area and are looking for a good pediatric dentist, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Cohen! read more

There isn't a better, more patient, compassionate pediatric dentist. Period. I have taken my son to Dr. Cohen for 13 years and refer every single other parent to do the same. He truly cares about his patients, and I trust his capabilities 100%. His staff is also phenomenal. read more

This dentist is SPECIAL! ALL of the staff were very kind and upbeat and the facility is ideal. My four year old son had his first x-rays taken w/o any problem and had his teeth cleaned by Jo. Dr Cohen & Jo were so kind by using such caring, sweet words and being gentle-especially while scraping the plaque off his bottom front teeth. It was done in such a patient manor that he didn't even complain. The TVs and sunglasses were great. Dr Cohen has more MD(medical) knoweldge about children than any other dentist I have known. Dr Cohen spoke with my son which resulted in a serial thumb-sucker never puting his thumb back in his mouth. Priceless! Many Thanks! Our son asks nearly on a daily basis if he can go back to the dentist. I think he wants to talk with Dr Cohen about not sucking his thumb anymore. read more

Stay far away. This dr tried to tell me my 4 year old needed 4 cavities filled when he wouldn't even sit for the X-rays. Turns out the X-rays were of a 11 year old and I only confirmed it with another dentist. They didn't even apologize just said oh well. I tried to report this to the board but they wouldn't allow me. Not caring at all. read more

What kind of children's care facility doesn't accept AHCCCS?!?! When I asked the people at reception if they did they actually snickered then replied "uh, no" in a patronizing way. You would think that a place that treats children would care more about the kids than getting as much money as they can as fast as they can. Very disappointed. read more

Dr. Cohen is an extraordinary pediatric dentist. Due to location changes and retirement I've taken our sons to five pediatric dentists and Dr. Cohen is by far the absolute best. He is in a category all his own. I would be willing to travel quite a distance to make sure my sons can stay with him. He is incredibly knowledgeable and so wonderful with children. I trust him wholeheartedly and that level of piece of mind is rare and priceless. Dr. Cohen and his entire staff are a pleasure to work with. I recommend Dr. Cohen to other parents every chance I get and I am extremely grateful that we found him. read more

Do not go here. The positive reviews must have been written by the dentist himself or his family. The previous reviewer is absolutely right about his interaction with children and adults. I was appalled how he treated our children. read more

First I want to start off this review by I am extremely selective of the doctors treating my son. He was born at 3 pounds and spent over 70 days in the hospital and had two major surgeries on the second and third day of his life and another one when he was 5 months and almost died. We see the best Pediatric Surgeon in Arizona along with the best GI, Urologist and Developmental Pediatrician. My son has an extensive medical history and has suffered from extreme reflux just to name a few of his issues. Dr. Cohen spent a lot of his time just reviewing his medical history and coming up with a treatment plan to avoid any dental problems in the future. At out first visit my son was 8 months old and only had 4 teeth but Dr. Cohen was very proactive. Dr. Cohen is an amazing pediatric dentist, he is gentle, patient and kind. I am very impressed by his ability to not only see that the child as his patient but the parent too. I find that many pediatric doctors forget that the parent is their patient too. He even asking me during the cleaning if it was ok to continue the exam because my child was upset. His staff is very professional and great at reminders. Dr. Cohen is truly a find and this is coming from a mom who has watched a crash cart used on her son. I only find the best from my son and Dr. Cohen is it!!! * On a side note.... I noticed a comment below about him running late. I think you have to realize this he is Pediatric Dentist and he is dealing with kids who are scared and some need a little extra time. So if he's running a little late I'm am fine with that because I know if my son needs a little extra love and time during his exam he's going to get it. read more

Most parents and kids dread going to the dentist! But not the Bridgford family. I have 3 kids that have grown up visiting Dr. Cohen and his wonderful staff for years and years now. Extra shout outs to Christine and Nikki who are so friendly and professional. We are always excited to see him and his friendly front desk staff every time we walk in that office, and his assistants in the back always make my kids feel so comfortable. My middle child has a lot of cavities, and Dr. Cohen always fills them without pain involved, and is always concerned that my child is comfortable and relaxed and gives them positive reinforcement to keep taking great care of their teeth. Now that my oldest is almost 20, she has to move on to a non-pediatric dentist. We are so sad she can't visit Dr. Cohen twice a year, where she feels the most comfortable! I highly recommend Dr. Cohen and his office and staff to anyone who is looking for a dentist you can trust, and that truly cares about your children healthy teeth and comfort. Best experience and comfort level EVER! Thank you for everything, Dr. Cohen!!! read more

Went to Dr. Cohen following a recommendation - I will NEVER go back. During the dental exam for a broken molar, he was not focused on my child, but kept answering to and touching his ear piece. The exam was less than 5 minutes, I had an appointment, I waited 35 minutes in the waiting room, and I can't have his total attention? After he looked at the x-rays, he said 3 "therapeutic pulpotomies" (root canals) & crowns and 2 fillings were needed and recommended to do it under general anesthesia at Phoenix Children's Hospital because of the patient's "difficult behavior management problem" - really? She cried a few tears because the incompetent hygienist kept hurting her mouth putting in the x-ray films. Even while recommending this MAJOR undertaking, Dr. Cohen is backpedaling away, answering his earpiece, and the office staff & other hygienists are at him. Then, still in shock that there is even such a thing as a root canal for a child, I was sat down and bombarded by the pushy office (manager?) lady about financing the job, the cost of general anesthesia and scheduling the next appointment. It was a horrible experience and I wouldn't recommend his services to anyone. read more

The WORST experience we have EVER had at any doctor's office. Dr. Cohen likes to think he's the doctor to see when other dentists can't get the child to behave when in fact he completely lacks any skills when it comes to interacting with children or adults for that matter. He's the most awkward man that comes across cocky at times and at times unsure of whatever the heck he is trying to say. It took him an entire appointment visit to get to the point trying to explain whatever it is that he was trying to explain and yet we still left with a ton of questions in mind. He made snobby remarks about how he mainly treats patients from Scottsdale, not realizing the fact that we are also from there. As a doctor, you shouldn't take pride in where your patients come from. You should take pride in how you treat your patients and let your work speak for itself and let your patients decide for themselves. He also made rude remarks about my child's behavior who was only 3 years old at the time and was simply scared and didn't want to be there. My husband and I left his office feeling angry. To this very day when I look bak at that appointment it leaves me feeling upset and it is the type of dentist I wish I wouldn't have never had the opportunity in ever meeting. The very next week after that appointment we saw a different dentist and had a COMPLETELY different experience, a positive one!! My child never once cried at the other dentist's office. The dentist got straight to the point and had amazing skills interacting with my child and never had to mention how great he was with children. I am shocked by all the other positive reviews. This doctor is the most unpleasant doctor i have ever met and thinks too highly of himself. read more
