Great experience! This is the third pediatric dentist I've been to. Our first dentist, though highly rated, was not as warm and welcoming as I would like to see for children, the second dentist was friendly but recommended my daughter get cavities filled plus a cap and to be put under IV sedation - that's when I sought out a second opinion and found Dr. Korf. I feel incredibly lucky that we were able to find someone who did not do sedation! So many dentists choose to sedate that you feel as a parent you have no option, and my concern for my daughter's health and safety would go to the sidelines.
The process was quick and amazing. It took Dr. Korf maybe 10 minutes to numb, drill, fill and set two cavities. He explained everything to my 3.5 y/o as he was doing it. I felt that the way he spoke and explained things, he showed her great respect, the same you would expect as an adult patient. And though the pinch from the numbing shot, and the weird feeling of numbness did confuse and worry my daughter, she was still able to lay still for the procedure. We filled a second pair of cavities two weeks later, and she was even better the second time around, knowing what to expect.
I would highly recommend Dr. Korf to anyone! More dentists should practice like this. My daughter left the dentist office with less fear and more understanding.
Also - he has an awesome old school table top arcarde; and great toys for the kids too! ;) read more
