Our 20 month old now shrieks with joy and holds up a tiny alien-octopus toy when I say the word "dentist." From the minute we walked in, she was running around repeatedly going down the space-themed slide and exploring all the cool features of the waiting room's indoor playground. We might have had a tiny freak-out when following the dental hygienist back to a room (too much like the scary pediatric RNs who give shots I think) but when we walked into the exam area, she seemed confused - what was this heavenly place? We were assigned a toddler-themed room, which had fun velcro clouds, a tent, a rocking sheep, and all sorts of toys! No scary exam chair in sight. Apparently all the rooms have different themes appropriate for developmental stages! When Dr. Austin came in, he did an excellent job interacting in a non-intimidating way before doing Zoe's first teeth check. He had a great trick with counting to 5 on fingers with the toothbrush to encourage kids to open up for brushing - our toddler still holds her fist out for counting now when we're getting ready to brush! At the end, she loved putting a coin in the machine to get a prize - she can't stop saying "ball" and holding up the little alien toy that came out of the prize ball. There's a reason why everyone with kids recommends this place. My son was in need of dental extractions. I fought with antibiotics and conservative measures to delay what was likey inevitabile, surgical extraction. Yet when he started to complain of pain, I accepted it was time for surgery. My wife sought out multiple doctors and practices before presenting Desert Ridge Dentistry and team to me as the practice of choice. When I arrived at the office, I was in awe. The space/astronaut/space ship theme had me feeling like I was in outer space. The intense attention to detail, efforts to emulate an out of this world experience put me into a calm state of mind. I thought to myself, if such efforts and passion were put into designing the clinic, I can only imagine what care would be put into my son's surgical procedure. The staff continued to impress me, matching the state of the clinic, flawless! Caring, compassion, instructions and guidance shared from every member of the ancillary staff. As my son and family were "lifted off" into the pre-op holding room, shortly thereafter walked in the doctor. Her confidence and love for my child as if he was her own radiated throughout the room. Listening intently to my wife's additional questions and concerns followed thereafter with a prayer to a shared higher power. Next, we were met by a pediatric anesthesiologist who kept the tone and vibes all positive. I had the privilege of carrying my son into the operative room, where he was greeted by a team of confident, up beat support staff. The anesthesiologist placed a mask over his face, son drifting off to sleep. I walked out of that room with all reservations alleviated. I felt my son was loved and in amazing god gifted hands. The procedure went as flawlessly as that office was run. A knowledgeable, compassionate nurse stayed with my son and I until he was cleared for discharge. The next hour or two as I observed my son at home, went exactly as laid out by the team. Feeling even more so assured that everyone involved at the practice in my son's care provided me with their personal cell phone number shoud I have any questions. The lenght of this review obviously to show gratitude to a world renowned doctor and team, but more so to any parent to alleviate concerns or reservations when it involves the very thing that your world revolves around, sun rises and sets for, their child. Dr Libby and her team were wonderful This morning! My daughter had to out under anesthesia for some fillings and possible crowns . I was really worried bc she has a medical Condition and with the anesthesia I didn't know how she would do. I jokingly said it feels like it's a carnival at her office because there are so many things for children to do to keep them busy and also to enjoy going to the dentist. We had a subpar experience at an office last year and weren't upset about never going back there again. We had seen this place a few times when visiting some of the surrounding restaurants and it looked so fun through the windows, my daughter was convinced it was a playplace and would ask to go inside! After a few of our friends also recommended it, we decided to make an appointment. We have since been twice: once for a regular checkup & cleaning and also for a dental procedure. From beginning to end - front to back - our experiences have been stellar! Above 5 stars! They're friendly and warm when we call, when we check in, when we're taken back, when we see the dentist! You can tell they hold their business to a higher standard and they take their job seriously and professionally! Man, where to start! Our son is 3.5y and has had 2 or 3 dental visits from our previous office and while there wasn't anything per say bad or wrong there, I just felt like there could have been better communication, extra steps to ensure comfort and happiness with my kiddo and a better play area! That being said, I was on the hunt for the best place. A couple of friends recommended DRPD and after reading reviews and their opinions, I had to check it out. HUGE plus that my son LOVES all things space. :) Prior to the first appt, they sent us a link to a video of Dr.Ruzari reading a book so that our son could see a familiar face (how smart and sweet). Every single staff member we encountered welcomed us, was kind and authentic! The hygienist/assistant was outstanding, my son was scared and not really loving the idea of the X-rays and cleaning but not once did she lose the smile on her face or give up on trying and we eventually got him to do it! Seriously so great. Dr.Ruzari took the time to sit and get to know us, explain his X-rays and discuss things with us. She too was phenomenal with our son and allowing him to touch all of the tools and help her do his exam! This is one of those places where you just know that the staff members CARE about kids and are meant to work with them. They even had the cutest letter board made up with a sign that said "Graham's first visit at DRPD March 2025" and they took a picture with him at the end to send to us in the mail, sooo sweet. Last thing, THE PLAY AREA!!! What??? I would literally take him there just to play! Haha, SO cool. The whole place is space themed and just a great play environment for the kids. There is a parent lounge as well with coffee, tea, water and some couches and TVs. We are in between insurances right now and I had zero issue paying out of pocket because I knew it would be the best place for my boy. We took our daughter to this office for 9 years (she is 12) and loved Dr. Libby. Regrettably, at her last two appointments, she was lied to numerous times thereby causing her to lose trust in the office. They (not Dr. Libby but another Dr.) told her she had no cavities and then winked at me and took me in the hallway to say that she did, in fact, have cavities. We made an appt with Dr. Libby to do the filling and she was again lied to...she was told that she would have no shot. I knew that it did not sound right but thought maybe the cavity was superficial enough? Needless to say, she did get a shot and now refuses to go back. Spent 40+ minutes on the phone disputing the charge with their admin staff who continued to ask me if I "trust" my child's provider. I can't believe it has taken me this long to write this review. My kids have been seeing dr Libby for over 7 years now. The inside is amazing for kids, when you first walk in it's like you have entered a space craft. The planets are on the ceiling and there is a kids play station with slide and TVs. The entire place is made to look like your on a space craft. Entering the hall way to get to the main rooms you go through a tunnel that has automatic doors like u have entered another room in the space craft. Dr Libby is amazing, always friendly and makes you feel like you are part of her family. My kids love going there even though they now are teenagers. We just moved from Reno to Phoenix. The first thing I did before we even moved was research pediatric dentists for my kids. I'm REALLY particular about caring for their teeth, especially because my son had a cavity at age 3 and made me feel horrible! I was determined to make sure they had the best care for their teeth from then on. That cavity fill was traumatizing for us all. Back in Reno, we had the COOLEST dentist. They were Hollywood-themed with life-sized characters and movie posters everywhere. The kids watched shows as they were being cleaned and the dentists were top notch. When they finished, they were given a token to get a fun toy from the machine at the end of the visit. As a parent, my favorite thing was that their cleaning room was all one room with a row of about 10 chairs. Siblings could sit next to one another being cleaned at the same time. It was super quick and made my life so much easier. Here in Phoenix, I wanted something cool for them again. They actually ask to go to the dentist when the experience is fun! I found this place and made sure to book an appointment way out. It's basically Disneyland's Star Tours, you guys. It's like being in a spaceship. The theme carries throughout the place. The dentist was super sweet and knowledgeable. The kids loved that they had a TV on the ceiling and were quite compliant. They even had an iPad in the office so the accompanying sibling could play as they waited. I'd prefer double assistance, but I'm not complaining even a little. They had a Nespresso machine (ahhh, so nice!) for parents. It's kind of a haul to bring my kids 14 miles for a teeth cleaning, but twice a year, I can manage it for the great experience. read more

The staff here is great and are very patient with your kids, upbeat and make every child feel comfortable. The problem was the wait time... Dr. Libby came into the room almost an hour after our appointment... It did sound like their was an emergency case, but we were only in for a quick follow-up, so there should have been another dentist available. When you are a parent with a work schedule, have a 3 year old kid you are trying to keep distracted and try to get back to work, a 60+ minute wait time is unacceptable... I would have given a 3-Star rating, but Dr. Libby is very good and kind, so we want to give a decent review. The Assistant (Sulema) did her best to keep us updated, was very kind and made our kid feel comfortable, but our rating really came down to Dr. Libby's 60+ minute wait. Treatments/sedation that we were told were optional, the office manager tells us are medically necessary (why is the office manager giving medical advice?). Add to that line items from the treatment plan that were previously told insurance covered now are not. Wow... I am literally blown away by the thought that went into building this practice. My son had his very first dentist appointment last week and he loved it. Imagine that?! On the DRPD website, it says that their goal is "to ensure that your child's visit to our office is positive and memorable." Well, I can say with confidence that they achieved their goal... During our visit, Mav had his teeth brushed and shined. They counted his teeth (18 to date), and Dr. Bienstock looked at them to make sure all was well. The staff members that we interacted with (Perla and Kelly), as well as those at the front desk, were friendly, patient and encouraging throughout our visit. They were amazing with kids and knew exactly how to put my son at ease as they introduced their tools and did his dental exam / cleaning. They were also extremely thorough in making sure I knew exactly how to have him brush his teeth, etc... In addition to the actual "in room" visit, Mav played in the rocket ship, played games on the many ipads, went down a slide, and explored! He was also given lots of presents including a new toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, a huge cup for water, a big red balloon, and a handful of other toys too. DRPD exceed our expectations during our visit and I know that Mav's teeth are in good hands with Dr Bienstock and her staff. We had previously been to this office a couple years ago and saw a male dentist. The kids thought the spaceship was cool and we had a good experience. Fast forward - we saw Dr Libby this most recent time. Called to schedule appt for both my kids and they were very booked. So I asked if my daughter could be seen first since she had teeth coming in behind her baby teeth. A couple days before the appt the front office staff called me to tell me an opening had occurred and we could get BOTH kids in at that same date 15 minutes later. I thought that was extremely proactive. Day of appt we were in the waiting room less than 3 minutes before we were back in the room (all together) and my little guy said "this is the best day ever". The hygienist were amazing and kind and super kid friendly. You definitely have to have a specific personality to work with kids. My kids now LOVE going to the dentist. Before I left the back office had a detailed treatment plan breaking down EVERY cent I may incur out of pocket at the next visit. Then I received a hand written thank you note with pictures of my kids with Dr Libby. This is extremely personal and made us feel very important and cared for. I won't go anywhere else. Our daughter had an infection in her mouth and we called her normal dentist and they were very difficult to get in touch with. After several hours we finally spoke with them and they asked us to email them a picture. We sent the picture and never got a response back. We began our search and found Dr. Bobby who is the most amazing dentist we've ever had. He even came in on his day off to treat our daughter. He is so patient and caring. We have a 10 year old and having been seeing Dr. Libby since my son was 2. You will not find more caring, knowledgeable dentists anywhere. My son was having some teeth removed last week and the nurses, assistants and Dr. Bobby (Sp??) could not have been more caring. They explained everything and had him calmed down immediately. These dentists will answer their cell phones after hours if there is an emergency. There is just no better practice in AZ for kids. We were referred to Dr. Libby by our Lactation specialist, and by far the BEST recommendation we have ever received. Dr.Libby is the most genuine doctor and person. She is very personal, kind and you can tell that she LOVES her job. Her upbeat personality is very reassuring. We brought our 7 week old baby in for a lip and tongue tie, she fixed both the same day and it has made a huge difference in our baby's latch and how much he spits up after feedings. Besides the fact that our babies lip and tongue tie is now fixed, Dr. Libby has a great staff as well, every staff member we have encountered thus far has been amazing. Worst customer service ever! Dr. Libby is awesome, but unfortunately, her staff are very very rude. Billing department is one of the worst I've ever encountered. They yell at you on the phone, don't reply to your emails, and when they do happen to talk to you, are very unprofessional. I will definitely let social media know about the scam this office has played on my family! Basically, I called to ask if they carry my insurance. Said yes. Booked cleaning for my son, was informed it would be 100% covered by my insurance. Went to the appointment, nothing was said about any copays, they just took my insurance card and didn't say anything at all. Few months later, here comes the bill. I asked them why they didn't inform me at the time of service (like any other NORMAL businesses do) that I had a copay and they didn't carry my insurance. Do you see why I am mad? First, when I called, they said they carried my insurance. Secondly, no one told me about this copay when we got there. I have paid a lot of money for other services here, no problem. These were expected and pre-approved by me. However, I will not be paying for a service that I first verified would be covered by my insurance, and secondly was never informed that they don't carry my insurance. What kind of a scam is this? I read another post about this scam done by this same office. Maybe it's time to go report them to the BBB. Bottom line, if you want horrible customer service....book an appointment here! The doctor was very professional. However, the billing services of this place is absolutely terrible. They mailed us a bill for $86 almost three (!!) years after my girls visited the place. No explanation about the charge or the treatment. Also - no explanation why it took them 3 years to send it. The bookkeeping in this place is dysfunctional. My wife called them at least 5 times inquiring about this charge. Only two times a different person called back and the issue was not resolved. Last person who called us was extremely rude and unprofessional. We never got an explanation why they charged us $86 for a service that took place 3 years ago. A day after I posted this review (above), the doctor called and apologized for this matter. She resolved it the next day. Hopefully, the billing services are improved. read more

My daughter has been going here for past 2 years. The dentist has always been friendly and professional. Unfortunately it is extremely difficult to schedule a Cleaning. Every time I call I receive their voicemail. Days later I will get a call back and now they are 5 months backed up! I called I'm April to make a cleaning appointment for my daughter and they stated the first available appt was September 14th!! I took the appt and the receptionist stated she would call me if there was an earlier Cancellation. Well my sister called to make appt for my nephews 2 days ago and they gave her an appointment for August 11th! I dont appreciate being lied to and not called if that appt was available because of a cancellation. I have been trying to make an appointment since February. This is our 2nd visit to the dentist for our son and we all love it. The waiting area is perfect to entertain him while we wait. The staff is extremely pleasant and energetic, it makes my son happy to come there. When our son leaves, he gets tokens for having great teeth which he can in turn put in to the toy dispenser and receive prizes. He also receives a balloon, stickers and a pouch with his name on it with other goodies including a new toothbrush and toothpaste. Dr. Libby is outgoing and makes my son feel super special. Their staff is pretty extensive - 1 person to check us in, 1 person to do his cleaning, 1 person to do his x-rays, 1 person (hygenist) to check his teeth, then Dr. Libby comes in for the final check, then 1 more person at final check-out. Best Find Ever! Was looking for a Pediatric Dentist, this one popped up on my provider list and said they work with special needs children. Thought I would give them a shot, was very nervous, and couldn't not have been more happy with their service. We have been seeing them ever since, so for about 2 years now. All 3 of my children actually ask to go to the dentist, something I never and still don't do. More importantly my finicky Autistic son LOVES to go and actually cries when it's not his turn. Dr. Libby is the most amazing PERSON, and she genuinely loves children. They do a wonderful job of caring for my children AND their teeth. They have one of the most amazing waiting rooms, and exam rooms, I have ever seen. The waiting room is designed to look like the interior of a space ship and you really feel like you are in a space ship. They have plenty of activities for the kids to play with while they wait for their appointment and they even had launch pad doors to go back to the exam room. Every room has a TV over the exam chair and the kids get to pick what they want to watch. They even have a two chair room for families so that kids can be seen two at a time and wait together. After each visit the kids get a token and they get to get a prize from a toy machine. Clients also get a little plastic card, it looks like a credit card, and they receive points for each visit that eventually are good for a prize (online). There's even a moon-lander photo op at the exit. I wish they would see adults too so I could get my teeth cleaned at this office! read more

We are really happy with Desert Ridge Pediatric Dentistry. We always see Dr Bienstock when we go in and she is absolutely fabulous. My 3 year old not only enjoys the fun office, but also feels very attached to Dr Bienstock and trusts her. She was able to help us break the "Binky" habit - which we had been struggling with. We are definitely sold on this dentists office. It's just a BONUS that they have done such an AMAZING job on decorating with the space ship theme. It's really a cool place. My 5 year old twins' very first dentist's visit today. It was awesome! They were still finishing up the new office decorations etc. (they just relocated) so kids didn't get to enjoy the fun "spaceship" experience in the waiting area today but it's going to be a cool place for the little ones. The office staff, hygienist, and Dr. Bienstock were all super nice. They gave us some great tips and suggestions for their dental care, possible future treatments and etc. etc. My kids had their exams, x-rays and cleaning done so smoothly & easily. We have been going to Desert Ridge since they were in their old building on Tatum. Their last office was definitely kid-friendly, with a space-themed play area and computer games on the walls. The rooms in the back looked like a regular dentist's office, though, but they were still fun for the kids. The new office, however, is amazing! They have a huge space-themed play area, with climbing structures and numerous iPads for the kids to play with. The best part, though, is when they take you back for your appointment. The entry to the back rooms is through a "spaceport" and the cool theme continues throughout. The hallways are decorated to appear like a space station, with astronauts floating around, etc. The rooms are decorated really cool, and they all have TVs on the ceiling so the kids can be distracted while the technicians and dentists are working on their teeth. Speaking of the dentists, my kids have seen both Dr. Libby and Dr. Bienstock, and they are both great. They are young, competent and both relate to the kids really well. My kids have never been afraid of having their teeth examined by these two dentists, as they have always been able to put the kids at ease. The technicians are all great, too. There are a few that have been there for a long time, and my kids are comforted by their continued presence when they show up. The kids favorite part of the visit, of course, is when they finish and get a little goody bag and a toy. The goody bag consists of a cool, new toothbrush that they get to choose, floss, a flosspick and a sticker. They get tokens that they can use in a vending machine to get the little toy. They're always excited about this part! My family definitely recommends Desert Ridge! It's a great experience for the kids and makes going to the dentist very enjoyable! read more

Dr Libby and her staff are amazing! My daughter loves going to the dentist. The inside is a big space ship and all the rooms are space theme. They have TVs on the ceilings for the kiddos to watch while they get cleanings. I wish I had Dr Libby when I was a kid! read more
