Very poor customer service. Needed a v belt for a machine. Went to store at 5:40. The counter…read moreperson promptly told me he wasn't looking through thousands of belts to find me one. He claimed he had no way of measuring my belt. He claimed someone threw away the tool to measure belts with. Really? Wouldn't you order a new one if that's the case. As I waked up to the counter he made sure I knew he only had 23.5 minutes to close. Well they are open until 6 aren't they? If you are that worried about it close at 5 or better yet 4. No use taking a chance, right? They apparently don't really need the business. He also made the remark that this is the busiest time of day. So what? Some people get off work at 5. How early do you think they can get there. In my case I was repairing equipment in a factory. Can't always know when I might need a belt. Bottom line. Very poor customer service!

I went in to buy a new battery and even though Advance advertises that they take out and re-install new batteries purchased there, I just knew that I was gonna be doin' the work myself. That was NOT the case however and the guy that sold me the new battery went and grabbed it off the shelf AND reinstalled it for me (All while providing a bit of good conversation, a pleasant attitude and ample smiles)...And it was HOTTER than Satan's butt crack out there that day!! Mechanic showed up at the promised time (actually a little early). My work was not very mechanically complex. However, the manufacturer of my car intentionally makes simple jobs more complex by placing needless body parts in the way, or by requiring special tools that only serve one purpose, or by having the hand size of an infant. It took the mechanic a minute to figure it all out. However, he was patient (in 100 degrees heat and blazing sunlight), figured it out, and got the work done perfectly! I much appreciate his very patient and thorough work and leaving my car in its pristine condition. Lastly, the cost was a real value. At the outset, it seemed good. However, given the extra time and effort needed to get around the car manufacturer's evil tricks to make you spend more money, it turned out to be a great deal. Definitely at the top of my list to call for next service need!
