Tried their weekend buffet. Yanagi doesn't have a wide array of Japanese dishes, but each dish is delectable.
The buffet area is divided into sections: salad and appetizer, soba, sushi and sashimi that is freshly prepared, sukiyaki that is cooked on the spot, teppanyaki where you can choose from beef and fish, cooked dishes, and dessert.
The raw fishes are very fresh and thickly sliced. They slide down your throat. Everyone loved the japanese fried rice, yasai itame (stir fried vegetables) and the shrimp in yellow sauce. For appetizer, udon is very nice. For dessert, I prefer the coffee jelly and pistachio cream pie.
Some dishes can be ordered at no extra charge, like ebi tempura and miso soup. The tempura is eaten best when hot. Ice cream is also ordered. They have good Japanese flavors of wasabi, green tea, red bean, and black sesame. Wasabi tasted like wasabi and has a cool aftertaste.
Staffs are very friendly and they even suggest dishes that you might not know can be ordered. Great! read more
