After a couple years of inadequate grounds keeping, Yampa Valley Golf course is back. The transformation has been remarkable. Tyler,the new grounds supervisor,understands golf and has turned this course into something to be proud of. The greens are 90-95% repaired and in great shape. The dead spots on the fairways are gone. I played here when it was bad and I play here now. No comparison. Give it a shot.You wont be disappointed. Not only with the conditions but also the price. Plus, you get a friendly staff. Its the most reasonable course in the Yampa Valley. A bargain in today's golf world. read more

Just golfed two days ago and it was like putting on the fairway with patches of dirt and leftover trimmings from the lawn mowers earlier that day or night before. Whoever mowed (I believe it was the head pro Scott?) don't ask me why the head pro was mowing but he was, but he forgot to blow the trimmings off the greens and they were horrible to putt on. I've been golfing here for my whole life and I've never seen this Course in this bad of shape--just embarrassing. We paid $24 dollars for nine holes hardly anything was nice about the course. Unmowed, unkept, overall I had a bad experience compared to previous years. I'm the type of person that writes reviews--good reviews and bad reviews so this is just stating the facts. Here's the worst part about this whole thing though: I called the next day to explain my experience and expectations of what I hoped the course to play like based on previous experiences. I asked to speak the the head director or manager in charge to which I was instantly transferred to Teresa. After talking to her to which she kindly listened about how the experience didn't go so well, I mentioned everything above, she started getting defensive and ended up telling me that "since I know everything about how to maintain a golf course that I should start my own course" and that "if you don't like the way it is, don't ever come back here again". She then hung up on me. Wow Teresa! Thanks for the warm customer service first of all. Second of all, aren't you wanting to know from people about how their experience was BEFORE we go to online reviews? Had the call gone better this review wouldn't be happening because issues would have been resolved up stream. This the head manager or whatever she calls herself didn't practice any self reflection or ownership on the call, I mean, if she didn't like what I was saying, be nice and then call me an asshole after the call ends right? I hope that the greens and quality of play gets better because I was embarrassed about it being out there and don't feel the price matched the play. I was told that management didn't put chemicals on the greens to help winterize them prior to winter this past year and that is just the epitome of cutting corners. Don't get me wrong, I want this business to stay thriving for the community! It is that bright place to go in this town, but man was it a nightmare out there. Players beware. read more

This is not golf. It's a field with a few trees they added flags. I can handle the terrible tee boxes and the ill defined fairways but I can't get past the greens. The worst greens I have ever seen...super long grass, bumpy and several spots with no grass at all. Would not play here again especially for the price. I give two stars because the staff was nice. read more

Yampa Valley Golf Course is located in a beautiful spot along the Yampa River in Moffat County. I love all the tall cottonwood trees. After a rough spring on winter-damaged fairways and greens; and LOTS of work, the course is looking good. Better every day! Check out the fall specials! read more

Showed up to play 18. Loved it so much we played 18 more! Fantastic immaculate wide fairways. The rough was thick and tough to play out of. Greens were large and in perfect condition and putted true. Very undulated!!! Didn't always hold approach shots. Do not go long! Super friendly staff! Would go back in a heartbeat! read more

This is an awesome track. Very short course with small old country club style greens. Don't go long. Very fair priced. Staff is kind and professional. Not 1 single house on the course. I could play there everyday. The wind does blow. read more

The golf course is great, beautiful and peaceful! We came in from Kansas City and played here about five (5) years ago and had a lovely time, 6 senior ladies, they gave us a great rate and we came back again. NOW, five years later, we visited the same golf course , the staff who originally checked us in (older man) was friendly, but tried to charge us a rate not on web site. He finally charged us $40 for 18 holes. It stormed and hailed on us. We came in after 9 to get a rain ck for Sat or Sun. Different young man at counter, and he hedged on giving us a rain check! IT WAS POURING. He said they don't normally do that, and if they do its "discounted". When he finally did -- it was for $10 credit!!! Not 9 holes. We finally spoke to another person, who appeared to be management, and he was not friendly either, and all employees struggled with the computer. After standing there for 20 minutes, "credit" was finally given. We arrive Sun with our tee time set, and again, management was at counter, not friendly and commented -- I don't know how you were only charged $40 -- we don't even have a rate like that.
