We sat down, waited and waited, 15 minutes plus, waitress took our drink order, waited another 15 minutes, finally got our water. 30 more minutes a different waitress took our order, ok, went to the salad bar, no greens, no ranch dressing and it was a mess . A waitress did go get more greens and dressing. We have now been there for 1 hour, We ate some salad, now there 1 hour and 25 minutes, the one waitress left and there was only 1 waitress/bartender. She came over and said I cant find your order after 1 hour and 40 minutes, she was so overwhelmed and rightly so, no manager, no help.... We offered to pay for the salad, but she said it would be comped. Really, a nice place like the country club, too bad. By the way, other folks weren't getting their orders either. A Mom and 3 adult sons came in and left after 20 minutes, no service!!

First off -- it's a public course, and some argue the best non-private track in the country. That…read moremight be debatable. The setting is perfection: nestled at the base of the Gore Range with postcard-worthy views at every hole. Conditions: top-notch. Smooth greens, tight fairways, and the layout rewards smart play without being brutal. It is far more polished than most munis. Slightly sad fact? The course runs beside I-70, so mountain serenity comes with a symphony of highway noise. Other private courses in the region do too, but are set back further so the decibel level is lower or insignificant. This location nevertheless is a must-play if you're anywhere near Vail.

Only snafu for me was the club rental. They have nice new Calloway rental sets. They asked if I wanted senior clubs and I said yes. Unfortunately the senior clubs were some beat up old Titleists so stay away from those. The rangers did keep play moving which I greatly appreciated. Some people spend too much time and psychic energy bonding with their golf balls and slow down play. You will definitely lose a few balls on this course so just expect it, live with it and keep moving. With the thick vegetation and the meandering creek these balls are gone forever so just let them go. II'd play here again anytime!

So since the twilight was only $100, I decided to fork over the cash and enjoy a round on a beautiful course tucked into the mountains. Course was kept up very well. The views were amazing. I wish I could play golf on courses like this all the time. I typically play up at Cape Royale on Lake Livingston. No comparison. If you get a chance, spend the money and play golf in Colorado during the summer. All the courses I passed on 71 in the many ski resort towns looked very nice.
