The food stations are smallish compared to other buffets. Sushi bar would be the tastiest of all the stations, even though I had a few dry pieces... it might be due to being a late lunch, but still off putting. Hot food stations was less than mid. I did not try the hibachi station as the ingredients looked boring. Salad station was also lacking, jelly fish was soooo hard, fruits were not ripe, sweet. Yakitori shrimp was decent. Came here for Friday dinner with family and was thoroughly disappointed. Aside from the sushi/sashami and crabs, most of the Chinese dishes tasted like reheated leftovers, not fresh to me. The dim sum choices were pitiful in my opinion with only the har gow shrimp dim sum being edible and even that had too much filler. The quality of food overall was so bad I actually sought out fried rice and soup to eat but the fried rice was the worst fried rice I have ever eaten and the hot and sour soup was mid at best. I was really excited to check this place out. It is located in the old red lobster and they did a great job with the renovation. Went at 12:30 on a Friday and the front parking spots were all taken so it was pretty busy. Service was good and server was attentive. The variety is good and you get free beverages like bubble tea and various Asian drinks, dim sum, sushi, grilled area etc. I was really excited about seafood and sushi. I had the raw oysters and sushi but the seafood did not taste fresh. The sushi looked like it sat out and one of the oysters tasted grainy. I ended up having upset stomach and Diarrhea that night so it definitely wasn't fresh. So sad I had high hopes for this place. The hot food tasted good. read more

It ended up being about $50 with tip, but I was able to have lobster (may not be a permanent menu item), raw oyster, lots of sushi (had a surprising amount of variety), and some cooked foods like soup dumplings that I was pleased to find since they are uncommon at buffets. The cooked foods were cooked well, but I did not try many of them that weren't seafood. Mussels, shrimp, oysters, and raw fish were surprisingly fresh for a buffet. My friends said the cooked meats and crawfish were good. The sushi had a good fish to rice ratio, and none of it was fishy. This is not the best quality I've ever had, but I don't think you can get any better at this price point. It was crowded, but the wait time was not horrible and it was not too difficult to navigate the restaurant. The interior was well organized and fun to look at. The threshold for buffets are very low so keep that in mind haha this ain't Vegas! For this area, Yami is exceptional, everything I had was fresh. Nothing tasted old. I'm pretty sure it may be because they are new. New buffets always do well the first 6 months so I hope they keep up the consistency. Only thing is, my lobster was a bit over-cooked. Went to Yami Buffet a couple days after their soft opening around 6-7 PM and it was not crowded at all. We were seated immediately and were able to get our plates of food with little wait. First thing first, the negatives; the pricing was not conveniently placed when entering, if it was I've must've missed it due to the atmosphere of the restaurant. For dinner, one adult was charged $39.99. Again the negative isn't the price but the visibility of it before being sat. That was the only thing I could think of as an improvement. Another thing is the clarity of the restaurant online. I understand that the restaurant just opened and hope that they establish an online presence soon as I think this place is going to blow up in popularity, and found it frustrating that I was unable to find any information about the restaurant, I.e. price, operating hours, and menu. As for the selections of food, it's not the widest array of options but it's truly quality over quantity with this buffet. The quality of their seafood and sushi is impressive for a buffet and I would argue that it is still an impressive selection for a buffet. The inclusion of a teppanyaki and unlimited drink station is also a huge plus. I will definitely be telling others about this place and hope that the quality of the buffet is consistent. They measured her because I said they should charge me $18.99 and then they said she was under the 5ft but was close so charged me the $40. My daughter told them she was wearing platforms and they said it didn't matter. After saying they would reprint my receipt they came back and took back what they said.
