Stop in because there are a ton of fast foods around. This was one a maybe a couple restaurants nearby. Had the gyoza, pretty good. Entree wasps the steak and shrimp combo with fried rice. Accompanied by miso soup and salad. The steak was actually very tender, better than I expected. I liked the fried rice, slightly crispy. The sauce for the fish I thought was a little bit salty for me. The shrimp was okay, slightly over cooked. I did not partake in the raw dishes here. The staff was friendly and attentive. Looked like some regulars popping in while I was dining.

Decent quick stop. I had the bento sushi box and she had the combination chicken and shrimp. The miso soup is great. The ginger sauce is low quality. Great hibachi for a lower price than normal.

Onion soup... deep flavor of onion and beef broth!

Delicious! The ginger sauce and yum yum sauce are made in house! Packed full of flavor. The onion soup is packed with beefy, oniony goodness!! Hibachi dinners were great. We had filet and shrimp. Tender and tasty. Veggies were cooked to perfection! Great amount of food for a small price!!

I am a huge fan of Japanese food and have had it many amazing places. I was eager to try Yamato. Corydon really does need more places like this. As stated on another yelp review, there is a torn piece of paper taped to the door that says, "Please come in and wait to be seated." It looks cheap. They should buy a professional restaurant sign that says that if they are trying to make a good impression. Once entering the restaurant the first thing I noticed was trash scattered on the floor. The blinds on the front windows were down all the way but, about a foot leaving the sun to shine in and light up every thing on the floor. For the most part the atmosphere is dark and cozy. The music should be Japanese though and be loud enough to hear. We sat down being the only other table in the place, besides the booth behind us with a screaming child that was never dealt with. Our servicer was friendly but, seemed distracted and inattentive to our needs. To start of with we ordered Lobster Rangoon which was filled with mostly cream cheese and was very sweet. The bowl of dipping sauce should definitely have more sauce in it. Overall, I would not order this appetizer again. Next we got the teriyaki shrimp bento box. It came with a choice of soup. We had onion and it was good. The salad is tiny and very plain however, the dressings are wonderful especially the ginger. The box was beautifully presented but, overall fairly small and came with no ginger or wasabi which I found odd. We finished up with a Spicy Salmon Roll. There were 6 pieces and again they were smaller than your typical sizes. This plate did come with ginger and sushi however :) We ordered Hot Saki only to be asked, what that was??? Needless to say, they do not have Saki. I would visit this place again because it is the only place in Corydon to get this type of food. I think it has potential but, still needs to iron out some kinks.

It was a good place to eat when it first opened. Now the servers are terrible and rude. I won't waste my money here again!

This place is a hidden gem! I say hidden because it is literally hiding off the road tucked beside…read morethe kohls. First of all one of the best gyoza's I've ever had- and I've had a lot! The service was great and our server mad suggestions for sushi rolls. We tried a savory ramen with chicken, the surf & turf roll, and the miss veedol and both were very tasty. I can't wait to go back! It's truly some of the best sushi I've had in the Louisville area.

We had this for dinner and the place started getting busy around 6pm. Great little hide away place…read more Our waiter was very attentive throughout our meal. We had the Pork Gyoza and it was softly fried. It had great multiple flavors. The Cardinal Roll was fabulous and crazy amount of crab plopped on-top of the sushi. Great deal for your money. The Red Bull Sushi was way better than I thought it was going to be so it was a great surprise. It's Spicy Crab topped with small pieces of NY Steak. Super glad we got this and would definitely eat it again. Like we didn't have enough food already we also ordered Chicken hibachi as well as lobster and steak hibachi. The steak was very tender. The chicken was a little overcooked and hard, but still had good flavor. The lobster had great taste, but the shell was completely clean gutted and was mainly for show. The shell was a too cleaned out for it being directly out of this specific shell. Not sure if it's for show, but the lobster was almost tender like and not just one big piece of lobster. I would recommend this place.
