Wow - what a DELIGHTFUL surprise! This place opened almost a year ago and my wife and I pass it often, but thought it was just a take-out / delivery place, as has become so common during the pandemic. It turns out we were wrong...
There is a charming dining area inside. It is well lit, nicely decorated, and they follow all of the covid protocols. Oh, and the FOOD!! Let me tell you about the food! Since moving from the USA to the north side of Barcelona almost 5 years ago, my wife and I have had plenty of disappointing experiences in Japanese restaurants. We decided to give this place a try and stopped by to order some takeout, when we were (very pleasantly) surprised to see they had a dining room. It is spacious, well laid out and very comfortable. We opted for the "menú al día," which comes with three courses (plus dessert) and a beverage for a fixed price. As my wife and I share everything, I got to taste the yumminess of hers, as well!
First course: Wakame salad (excellent, with just the right amount of sesame seeds... and the dressing was just right!) and Rollitos japones. These were okay, served with a sweet pepper sauce, but again, just okay. Clearly not homemade.
Second course: Yaki gyoza ebi (shrimp gyozas) - steamed, then gently pan-fried for a wonderful texture. Temaki - A nice cone of nori stuffed with rice, crispy onions, avocado, and salmon. Tender, flavorful, and delectable, down to the last morsel. I'll definitely be getting that again!
Main course: Rollo de salmón (salmon sushi roll) and Langostino tempura (hosomaki with a light tempura shrimp, absolutely wonderful!
Beverages (tea, beer) included. Dessert (five or six options) included. I only had to pay extra for the cafe solo. We got out of there with very happy bellies, for well under €30. I am already looking over their menu to see what I'm going to order next time! read more
