I don't play sports, nor do I really care to hunt. I do enjoy fishing, and I do enjoy exercising- and Scheels caters to all my needs. They have a great selection. I like their winter apparel section, but I will say that it is quite expensive- but, of course, you get what you pay for. Unfortunately, as much as I want one, I can't justify paying 250+ for a North Face jacket. Stop by the fudge shop for some good samples, too! Can't leave the store without visiting them!

Sara had me roll up my pants legs, take off my street shoes and walk 30 feet and back while she determined the best shoe from observing my ancles and how I walk. She measured my feet for size. She came up with three different brands of shoes. I tried on all three and walked around the store trying each brand. She answered several questions and it's quite obvious she knows the brands well! The decision was simple knowing which shoe would be best for me. I highly recommend going to River Valley Running and let them help you find the correct shoe for your application!!

One thing I really appreciate about this store is its always so clean, bright and the staff is friendly and helpful. Mostly I shop here for running/workout wear as the quality is good for the best price in Mankato outside of thrifting. One suggestion: right now yoga wear is very popular so there are TONS of yoga pants but hardly any actual running pants/tights. I'm frustrated with how difficult it is to find these at Target stores and this one in particular. Great selection of other sports wear. Groceries: This is not the full grocery but there is an excellent selection of box/packaged food with some limited refrigerator stuff. Limited produce but what there is is always the highest quality. Have NEVER seen older, limp looking fruit. My favorite is their raspberries - always perfect. Great yogurt selection too. Why not 5 stars? Well I've had trouble with the quality of several items purchased, specifically overly expensive, poor quality candles, glassware and they have a line (can't remember the name) of dog leashes/collars that fell apart immediately. I didn't try to take them back - I don't have time for that but rather expect quality in the things I buy.

This sucks, I suppose, for those wanting a consistent place to buy something like a facial scrub or a cosmetics line- otherwise, it's the perfect business scheme. I always come back to my car with a cart full. There are so many unique things here, especially when it comes down to home decor and various accessories. Some things I have not seen anywhere else, and I love that! The prices are right on, too. Cheaper than most discount stores, I would say, and when something goes on Clearance, it's basically a steal! Would definitely recommend to anyone just wanting to try out a new shopping experience, or any of you that are familiar with TJ Maxx. My only complaint would be that some of the shelves look really outdated. They could definitely use a new display arrangement! Otherwise, A+ !
