My partner and I went for a set meal for 2 which was enough for 4 people to share with extra. We ordered extra fish to BBQ and a couple of side dishes. The portions are huge and great value for money. The hot plate on the middle of your table makes it a very fun and sociable experience. The service is fast and helpful if you are unsure of what each meal is. Can't wait to return with friends to share the experience.

I was honestly surprised when I found an actually good Korean restaurant in Cardiff as Korean food isn't typically one of the more well-known or popular Asian cuisines. However, if you're an adventurous eater or someone who's tried Korean food elsewhere and missing it (like myself), Kimchi is perfect! As I haven't been inside the restaurant, I can't speak much for the atmosphere or the customer service. The only thing notable about the customer service is that the delivery arrived perfectly on time and the driver was very polite and courteous. Aside from that, the main thing I care about the food and it was great! I highly recommend their bento boxes. At just over £11, it's actually a surprisingly decent value for money as the portion sizes are HUGE and extremely filling. Your choice of meat came with Korean dumplings, seaweed soup, kimchi, rice, and lovely Korean pancakes. We'd definitely order from here again or even stop by the actual restaurant if we're the area. A definite surprising find to see GREAT Korean food in Cardiff!

For a small shop, it is super compact and has a really good selection of ambient, fresh and frozen Korean and Japanese products (as well as some from other East and South East Asian countries) when considering the square footage. The prices are all reasonable for imported products, so I've never felt that I was spending too much money. The staff are really friendly. One time, when I was buying a 5kg bag of sushi rice, one of the storekeepers approached me and said that they could keep the bag behind the counter to save me from having to carry it around, which I really appreciated. They're also very approachable, which is good if you're looking for something unfamiliar. This is a family run business which has been in the neighbourhood for over twenty years, and hopefully many more years to come for when I eventually move back to Wales!

(They said hello when we came in, they asked us if we needed any help and they said thank you when we left even though, on that occassion, we didn't buy anything.) The shop itself is bigger than it looks when you first enter and is crammed full of some really exciting looking food. I'm not sure what they're called but the icecream that's coated in some kind of rice... those are good! It's also nice to be able to buy soy sauce in a reasonable sized bottle - the ones you get at the supermarket are ridiculously small. The prices are fantastic, especially considering how far its all been flown, so I was extremely impressed.

I was super excited to see Korean fried chicken on the menu... Then I was super disappointed when my order came out. It was just their karaage with what tasted like barely-doctored bottled Thai sweet chili sauce. The worker who was in charge of our table was an absolute nightmare. She was a short Asian woman--I didn't get her name. She was extremely rude to the group and very short. It got to the point where we didn't even want to flag her down to order more because her attitude towards us was so bad. I won't be back. But if you do decide to go, they have a Unidays discount. At least that softened the blow of this awful experience.

It does a very good deal on a 'stop the clock' idea, which means you can sit and eat for two hours, from the moment of your first order. The cost is £15.80 which can't be bad. Personally I recommend the Bulgogi, thin sliced BBQ steak. Ushikata! I have hesitated in recommending Teppan Oriental because its very appeal is that all the customers are apparently Korean, Japanese or Chinese and this adds to the atmosphere...

The Chinese Hot Pot also known as Shabu Shabu in Japan, and in Singapore and Malaysia the Steamboat. Here in Teppan we have a vast choice of ingredients, dipping sauces and stock.

I have tried to get into SKK for lunch a few times over the the last couple of weeks, but they had sold out of everything every time I tried. So even after a big breakfast, I decided to head down early to avoid disappointment. Now, from the outside, Sky Kong Kong doesn't look that appealing. The sign above the door looks like my 2 year old nephew did it with some crayons, but I really like it. I like being unenthused walking into a restaurant and then blown away by the time I walk out. Inside can only be summed up as quirky. There are 3 long tables with around 10 chairs on each and a few books about Asian food and art. It looks as if its been put together in a few hours, and it probably was. But again, I really like it. It works! Now onto the food: wow! They have a two course bento menu that changes daily and today it started with a tomatoes an cherry dish. Unfortunately I didn't get all the details of this dish, but essentially it was sliced tomatoes, cherries and a delicious olive oil dressing. It was really refreshing and for somebody that doesn't love tomatoes, I demolished it! Unfortunately, but in true SKK fashion, they had run out of chicken for the main. So I had pan seared salmon instead: oh, go on then ;) That came with a courgette & parmesan pancake, cabbage with chorizo, wild rice and another cabbage dish. It was seriously good. For £6.50 it was amazing! This is definitely a five star lunch if ever I've had one!
