Ranked in the Top 50 restaurants in Latin America, it's well deserving in my opinion. We shared two apps the sweet potato and charred onion hummus and beef. Everything was delicious , service was excellent, ambiance was spectacular. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for something different.

I secured a reservation for my wife and I and was not disappointed. Situated in a neighborhood not unlike Surfside in Miami, this so-called Mediterranean restaurant exceeded all my expectations. From the greeting we received upon entering; to our server, Mariano, explaining portion sizes as well as the many dishes in which my wife could order or that the sous chef could alter due to allergies; to the suggested wines that may accompany our order. I had my heart set on BABA GANOUSH appetizer and PASTRAMIED RACK OF BEEF- their signature dish; the Baba Ganoush had tomato in it so that was out for Edna but another eggplant dish was substituted and it was just what the doctor ordered. The Pastrami preparation I opted for was not available but the PASTRAMI WELLINGTON: Beef Short Rib Pastrami, Mushroom Duxelles, Swiss Chard and Dijon Mustard; Served with Date Demi-Glace and Assorted Peppercorns, I eventually ordered was to die for. Edna opted for the fish of the day which was MULLET in a fine sauce made with Pastis. For dessert, I wanted something different and we got it: PUMPKIN, BLUE CHEESE AND MISO consisting of nixtamalized Pumpkin, Blue Cheese Mousse and Pumpkin Tofee with Miso. it was a small portion but it was delicious. A few words about the ambiance: the inside was beautifully decorated; the lamps hung in a low glow to accentuate the dark wood walls; the Michelin certificates proudly hung in a discreet spot; an outdoor section had been assembled to accommodate the throngs of diners as the interior is on the small size. Geez, it was only a Monday night!

One of the longer running, and apparently more popular kosher spots in the city, it's a place that…read moreI've thought about going to on and off for years. Why I never got there, I don't know. Maybe it was premonition. It is, as best I know, the only kosher restaurant in the city that offers both a meat menu and a dairy menu, and separate seating areas. Seating is all, as far as we could tell, outside, under two large tents, and the meat and milk do not mix. The latter menu is primarily limited to pizzas, with a couple of pastas, salads, and fish dishes (fish, for those who don't keep kosher, is allowed on either type of menu). The meat side is all pretty much classic Argentine steakhouse dishes, with a few options for those who don't want grilled meat. We started off with the mixed hot appetizer selection. According to the menu, this would come with flatbread, hummus, keftas, crispy chicken drumettes, chicken in escabeche, meat stuffed olives, coleslaw, onion rings, eggplant dip, and something called basagrán, which for all my searching, I can't find any reference to other than as a pesticide. Given that we had neither of the chicken elements on the plate delivered, but two scoops of a sort of tomato infused bulghur wheat, I'm leaning towards that as what basagrán is. Overall, a little disappointing - nothing stood out flavor-wise. It was all perfectly edible, but no more than that. A tortilla española, with beef sausage filling in for chorizo, was unseasoned, a bit dry on the outside, though the center was still creamy. However, it wasn't really an española, which ought to have some onions and/or garlic in it. It was just a simple tortilla de papas, a potato omelette, with some scattered slices of sausage. Given the upcharge from 220 pesos for the basic potato version to 350 pesos for maybe a dozen slices of sausage, it's a bit of a rip-off. Likewise, in the "let us pluck some money out of your wallet in return for little to nothing", a half-order of sweetbreads, coming in at a another whopping 350 pesos turned out to be four, shirt-cardboard thin slices of the organ meat, grilled into submission to the point of being dry and crumbly, with no seasoning. Good thing we didn't order the full sized portion at 720 pesos.... All in all, this place is just overpriced and underwhelming. And that's not kosher.

And, a menu that, other than eschewing shellfish and any sort of random meat selections, looks as creative as any of the many nikkei cooking spots in town (and, the menu includes hot food as well as sushi). While you peruse the menu they serve up a rather good and quite ample cucumber and carrot salad in a rice vinegar dressing (I suppose that justifies, to some, the 35 peso cubierto charge). It's a bit pricier than the other kosher sushi joints I've checked out, which goes with the setting and the creativity. I was just grabbing a snack, so two half rolls, at 120 pesos per half, both as good and interesting as those I've had at many of the fusion sushi places in town. High quality fish, well made rolls, interesting combos, and white fish in addition to salmon and canned tuna. And, although fish and dairy are not forbidden for most folk on a kosher diet, there are some who choose not to have them combined (it's an automatic in kosher restaurants that you don't mix dairy with red meat or poultry), and, in looking over the selection, it was a nice touch that the waiter asked if I wanted rolls that included cheese or not, and steered me to those that didn't have it (not a kosher thing, I just don't like cheese on sushi). All around, quite good, and I'd happily go back. They also have locations at Aranguren 2887 in Floresta, and Moldes 2287 in Belgrano.
