Couldn't ask for a better group of car guys who understand what the customer wants and executes accordingly. PART 2 - I will also be posting a pictures of the system along with the functions of system that were listed on the box, where it indicates usage for parking, particularly for reverse parking with reversing aid. Again, I pointed out to Nick this placement in the back windshield was the same as if I were utilizing the car's original rear view camera. We then moved to the back of the car so I could show him where the camera should have been to assist with parallel parking. The same placement where cameras are placed for backing up, outside of the car, near the license plate. At this point, Nick said the camera would not be able to go there because it is not a backup camera. I then let Nick know, having watched the instructive video within the product page, that this was possible as the wire would need to be repositioned, the wire would be run through the back seat, through the trunk and one of the license plate lights would need to come out for the wire to be ran and pointed out where the camera should be placed. After this, Nick stated a bit angrily the technician would place it wherever he was able to. I confirmed again this placement was necessary to capture the distance between vehicles adequately and wanted to also make sure this specified as I told him I would be out of the country the following week so I would not be able to bring in the vehicle and would have another individual bring the car. Finally, Nick agreed to set up another time, where he specified that he would fix this free of charge as this would not take too long to fix, however could not do today because the holiday was approaching and he squeezed in me for this appointment. We scheduled the return. When my mother brought the car, Nick asked to speak with me on the phone and said this service would take about 30 minutes but he was not sure and the service would be $50. I told him that was not what he said last time and what he said is that "we would take care of it". This is after he said this service would have been completed free of charge. After this conversation, I let Nick know there was no need to conduct the service at this point as previously he stated this would be corrected free of charge. However, my mother who had brought the car in, agreed to complete service. So I resigned, after almost two hours of my mother waiting. The car was complete and Nick instructed to speak with via phone again letting me know how the wire pathway of the camera to the back of the car, where the camera was placed, how to work the system to flip between the front camera and rear camera, teaching me how to work the backup and that now the camera had the capability once the car was put in reverse to flip back to the backup camera. I let him know I was aware of as I had read the product manual and watched the video which I had offered to share on the day of the initial appointment to service the car but Nick stated he had done this for clientele before so he didn't need to see. Finally, we were charged $135 for the correction due to "time". Called and spoke to Nick via phone to schedule service and receive quote to get cameras installed. Nick responded and stated the best thing would be to come in and assess whether this would be possible and to determine whether the camera system I brought would work. I met Nick for the assessment and told him specifically I love in NYC and need this camera for parallel parking as I have been unable to observe the distance between cars as the space have been relatively tight and that I have basically been parking hopefully or with the assistance of others. My information is taken and we set an appointment. I come in for an appointment and provide the camera system I purchased. Nick states it may take 1.5 to 2 hours and that he will call when done. I let him know this is perfect and that I would be across the road. I returned and paid for the service and for parts (not sure why as the system comes with the tools to feed the wires along the inside the car and adhesive to tack on the cameras. Nonetheless, the experience and service was fine up to this point. I exited the store to leave and then felt I should test drive the vehicle to determine its ability to determine the distance to park. There was one other car in the lot, so I got in front and attempted to park by backing in front of this car. It was at this point that I realized based on the angle and placement of the camera, this would be difficult to assess what was needed to park. For instance, with the angle and placement of the camera (inside the back windshield), when I parked in front of the car, to the point where the camera was showing there was no more space to backup, I got out of the car only to see there was about anywhere between 4 to 6 feet of space remaining. The placement of the camera, inside the back windshield, was capturing the same point of view as it would had I been using the car's original rear view mirror. I returned to the shop, let Nick know, the placement of the camera did not allow me to assess the distance between cars accurately and told him exactly what happened when I tested parking the car. I told him where the camera showed there was no more space to back up, there still was about 4 to 6 feet left, which would not be helping in parallel parking at all as we know there tends to be a limited amount of space when parallel parking. Nick then responds by saying I didn't think you needed it for backup, I thought you just wanted to use for the recording function like Uber drivers. I told him I specifically specified I wanted to use this function for parallel parking and that I have just been parking hopefully or with the assistance of others as I could not solely measure the distance myself using the car's mirrors. Nick then picks up the box of the camera system I brought, points to where it specifies there is a reversing aid features and says, you can utilize the lines to park, in reference to the lines typically used for guidance when backing up. Again I told him what I said previously, where the camera is placed currently doesn't allow for an angle to adequately assess the space in between the cars as there still leaves a large gap. He says it is not waterproof, that's why we didn't place it outside, I told him it was (really this is something that could have been researched or a call to me would have answered this, if that were the case). After this, Nick says he did not think this camera could be a backup, this is after previously saying to utilize the reverse aid lines. Finally, Nick says let's go outside and check, we go outside so that I can start the car to show Nick what the camera is currently capturing. Again I tell him the test I ran by attempting to park and how the angle is capturing what's needed. He says he didn't know I needed a backup camera once again and that, for the clientele who request this service, this is where he places the camera. At this point, Nick says he needs to bring his technician out to assess as well. I will continue in another review. Nick returned along with the technician and instructed me to let the technician know what was going on. Again I reiterated the exact same things I stated initially at the time of assessment and when I came in for an appointment, that I needed assistance with parallel parking, and about the test I had just conducted with parking in front of another vehicle. The technician simply looked at Nick and said she wanted a backup camera angrily and walked back into the shop. Nick specified again these are the placements he typically does for clientele who want this service done. Again I specified that I understood, however I communicated clearly that I needed a camera for parallel parking and this placement was not conducive to this. Made an appointment, confirmed time-line while making the appointment. Drove an hour, got to my appointment 20min early. Let them know I was there for my appointment, sat there waiting to be helped for an hour and 30min. When I finally get tired of just sitting I ask for an estimation on a time frame. Because again I confirmed this time frame when I made the appointment, what I would assume is the owner just replies with a short "no" and then turned his attention from me. At the point my car actually made it in the building it was well over 2 hours of just sitting.
