I agree that Parish and the team at Ocala Car Audio are top notch. I had a Kenwood DNX772BH installed by another dealer in Ocala three months ago, but I decided to not go back there after a horrible experience with them. I asked Parish if he would diagnose an issue that I had with the unit even though his team did not install it. He agreed to do so, and did a thorough job. He did not try to sell me a new head unit, but he did point out the pros and cons of the high-end Kenwood units during my visit. In the end, Parish found that it was my iPhone that was failing and not my Kenwood head unit. He saved me a lot of headaches and money with that discovery. I upgraded my iPhone the next day, and all is well. Thanks Parish! I will be back. read more

The owner tried to coerce a 5 star review from me, but my conscience just won't let me. Two weeks ago I replaced the face plate of my dash with a brand new never been used one. Plugged it in with the original wiring harness, and all the connected modules worked perfectly until I got the stereo installed. Last week, I took my truck down to replace the stereo. I knew the *audio wiring* was shot, which was why I had it installed at a car audio place, but the rest was just fine. When I got it back the next day, my AC module wasn't working, and the overhead display literally just fell out when I touched it. When I went back and tried to explain things, the owner got hostile with me by getting right up in my face, and basically accused me of lying and trying to get a free repair for something HE deemed was already malfunctioning because of age, despite my receipts to prove what I replaced was brand new. I really thought he was going to swing on me. Even the technician admitted to messing with the plug, and yet the owner swore they had nothing to do with any of it. When I checked things out, I found all new wiring, the original gone, and now I have to click the fan to full blast just to get the unit to turn on. I never authorized them to replace the module wiring because it was intact. It was strictly the audio wiring. Then the owner brought me inside to "work things out", but basically lectured me like I am some kid that doesn't know anything (despite my 30 years of experience of restoring vehicles), and denied any plausibility that it could have been a simple accident that went unnoticed. His mind locked on the overhead console, ignoring the bigger issue of my AC. All I had really wanted was for them to double check the plug and wiring they messed with, and to glue my overhead display back in place. He only agreed to the latter, leaving me to spend MORE money to get their mistake fixed. I don't know why, but he bought a new overhead housing, but told me I had to install it myself. He then demanded I go here to give a 5 star review about how they went above and beyond for me, and yet they refused to double check their work and instead pass the blame along without actually resolving anything. read more

From my initial stop in to the store, Rick was professional and answered any questions I had. Constructed an estimate and guided me on how to obtain financing for my project so i wouldn't have to lay out all the project cost up front. Parish reviewed Rick's estimate and products he was including in my estimate. Parish discussed other options with me and we decided as a group a slight upcharge would yield a better overall system for me. Once the system was determined, I was informed once they got all the parts in OCA would set up an appointment to have the work done. Dropped the vehicle off at 9 AM and received a text at 2:30 the work was completed. When I arrived Rick showed me how to operate the system and got my iPhone connected. Thanks guys for the professional treatment I received. read more

Avoid dealing with Ocala car audio and tint at all costs. I went to Ocala car audio on January 19th 2024 and spoke to Terrance the manager to decide on a dash Cam for my 2024 X5 BMW. The first thing that I expressed was my concern regarding the dash cam draining my battery. He assured me that it's basically impossible because of the small milliamp draw. I decided on a 3 camera Blackvue dash cam that they are a dealer for. They are extremely expensive and I was told by Terrence that they are professionals and certified BMW installers and basically you pay for what you get. We set up an appointment and had to have my car there by 9:00 AM and they would call me when it was ready. After waiting all day, I called and called and called no answer. Finally, Terrence called me and told me that there was something wrong and they needed a device from BMW to fix it. I was very uncomfortable about them driving my car from their dealer to BMW but at that point I had no choice. Once again, I did not hear from them and it was getting close to 6:00 PM there closing time. So, my wife and I decided to drive up there to see what was going on (30-minute drive each way). Terrence informs me that something wasn't just right and that they would have to keep it overnight. The next day I received a call from Terrence that I can pick up my X5. The very next day I get in my car and there's a display stating that my battery is extremely drained. I called Terrence and told him of the problem and he stated that the doors were open while they were working on the car and that's what probably drained the battery. He advised me to drive it around to charge the battery. Keep in mind I already drove it for 30 minutes from the dealer to my house. Driving around did not help the problem. I called Terrence and the owner Parish Tanner got involved. Parrish did not believe there was anything wrong so he decided to drive to my house to find out for himself on February 1 2024. He insisted that we need to drive around the area to see if the battery will charge and it did not. Then he asked me to turn on the automatic engine off button so it would turn off at a stop. Once again, he insisted that we drive all around to see if it would charge the battery and it did not. After jumping through all these hoops, he said I would have to bring my car to be BMW to troubleshoot it, to determine if it's the vehicle or his dashcam installation. Robert the service writer at BMW called me after a couple of days. And informed me it was definitely the dash cam that was causing my battery failure. He informed me that the vehicle cannot have any more than 0.022 amp draw and the dash Cam was drawing 0.700 amps way too much. Below is the statement from BMW. Customer states battery light coming on after installation of aftermarket dash cam camera. Ran vehicle test. Found faults for vehicle staying awake. Checked battery and draw, found vehicle had about a 700 MA draw on the Battery. Spec is 9-22 MA. Unplugged camera system and draw dropped to spec. Customer approved removal of aftermarket dash cam system. Removed aftermarket camera system. During removal, found the unit power wires were twisted and soldered directly to a power wire that is hot at all times. Cut small section of wire out and performed wiring repair. Checked operation all OK. The repair fee from BMW was for $1500.00. And as an admission of faulty workmanship, Ocala car audio paid the charge to BMW. BMW of Ocala was gracious enough to deliver the dash Cam to Ocala car audio and received a written confirmation. On February 9th I contacted Ocala car audio and requested a full refund of $971.77 to be credited to my credit cards. s of February 17th, I have had no response. Now I am forced to dispute the charge with the credit card company. This demonstrates their unprofessional spiteful character. Finally on April 15, 2024 the credit card company closed the dispute due to a lack of response from Ocala car audio and credited my account. So now I can post my review and strongly advise everyone to avoid these people. read more

I had a self installed basic audio and bass system in my jeep. I went there to upgrade my audio system to better quality door speakers for better sound. My doors needed some modifications to make room for the speakers. They had to make panels for the speakers which they carpeted and made look as close to factory as they could. They did a phenomenal job and was very happy with that outcome. Unfortunately I noticed my sound would cut out at higher volumes. I went back up there and they were helpful in giving me some connectors to upgrade some wiring. This still did not resolve my issue so I dropped it off. They had the jeep for 2 days and fixed some connections and adjusted the amps. I picked it up and was told what they did to resolve the issue. The manager was out of town ( whome I had been talking to). after leaving I found that the issue was still there and it seemed that they just turned down the amps so it didn't happen as often. I went back up there a few days later upset . I asked to speak to Parish the owner. This man stopped what he was doing and came out and tested my system. He concluded that my alternator was not strong enough to power the system properly and I had a faulty amplifier. He instructed his manager Tarance to take care of me. The manager was very upset that he was told that my issues had been resolved and were not. Trance went over a plan to rewire everything with a 320 amp alternator. They would work with me and my budget. they took the faulty amp back on warranty gave me a deal on another battery and built an enclosure for it. they installed my alternator with upgraded power and grounds. they spend 3.5 days going through every aspect of the audio system. They even testes and tuned the speakers with a oscilloscope. My system was tuned to perfection. I was told my jeep was ready. When I went up there the manager and the installer went over everything they did with me. all the wiring looked very clean. I could tell they went above and beyond to make everything very nice. when I turned on the radio even at half volume I could tell it was right on. I cranked it up and was very impressed with the clarity and power if the audio. I am very happy. and I will be back for more audio needs with other vehicles. Thank you Tarance and Parish for you work patience knowledge and understanding and most of all your dedication in making a customer happy. read more

Parish and crew did a great job installing a back-up camera in my '13 Chrysler S Hardtop/Convertible last year. It wasn't an available option from the factory, but their installation works just like it was OEM. I drove over from Winter Park and it only took an hour and a half while I waited on it. Horrible experience deserving of ZERO stars. Required 1 hr round trip to get estimate. They didn't give me one, but made me pay $194 in advance for an appt. Turns out, it's really a cattle call where everyone is booked for 9AM, and they may or may not get to you. Spent hours waiting and they never started work. Big shout out to the guys down at OCA! Yesterday I went in and asked Will, I think was his name for an adapter for my antenna I bought on line. The one that came with it didn't fit my 2020 Jeep Gladiator. So he back to the back and came up front with some different sizes and found one that fit. I offered to pay ffg for the whole antenna package and he didn't want me to buy it just for the adapter. So I gave him 2 of my adapters from my antennas package. Thanks guys your a life saver, I will pass this on to all my friends and family if they need anything ffg or their cars or trucks! Thanks, David Peach read more

I wanted a battery isolator installed for a 2nd battery (deep cycle) in a Suburban to supply dc in the rear when camping or partying. The isolator allows you to charge both batteries yet drain only the deep cycle when running accessories. It took longer to complete and there was a number of problems ( had to order parts part way into the project and we smoked a couple of alternators along the way). The instructions poor and vague. Fortunately they are good guys to work with and we worked through the problems. The wiring is very clean and professional looking. (A+) I want to give 6 Stars, 4 for the work plus 2 stars for their good attitude. I'll be going back to see TJ and Chris for more work on my systems, you should too! Mike W. read more

Never prepay a part from here. I Had to come back on two desperate occasions to get a transfer plug hooked up to my car. When I came back a second time one of the employees shot me and my girlfriend dirty looks and threw my keys on the table and said "Have a nice day" with a bit of a attitude in his voice. The fact that the employee was so childish toward this situation is the reason that I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. read more

First visit. Looking for SiriusXM radio for golf cat. Found them on Yelp. Knowledgable & great in helping us install it ourselves. Thanks

I am extremely happy with the quality of work, dedication, and professionalism of Ocala Car Audio. I had a a new head unit, 2 competition grade subs, 3 amps, 2 batteries, all new components completed. Parish gave me options to stay within my budget granted by my wife. The best part to me, when the install was complete, the installers took me through all equipment and wiring routing. I have had systems in every vehicle i have owned and NEVER had an installer (yet alone 2 installers) guide me through every aspect of the installed equipment. I would recommend this shop to anyone in the market for an upgraded sound system in their vehicles. I am looking forward to have more work done in the very new future. read more

Went to them this morning because I was having problems with a system I installed myself. I bought no parts from them and had no services rendered by them either, except window tinting a while back, which is still holding up perfect. I told them it was frustrating that my system didn't work properly after two days of installation. They spent about 30 minutes to troubleshoot the problem, and telling me exactly how to fix it FREE OF CHARGE. I went to another custom audio shop near them and they were going to charge me 75 bucks to just listen to it, which is ridiculous. These guys were extremely friendly and gave me small tour of some of the projects they were working on. Defiantly would go here again to get work done, or buy products. These guys were amazing. Thank you so much! read more
