Xtracycle in Mill Valley has some of the most friendly, accommodating staff i have ever experienced. I called in to book a test ride with them for some Priority Bicycles as they are the defacto Bay Area Adventure Center for Priority. Joe was who answered and he is literally the best. He got me all set up with my appointment and gave such an informative and transparent explanation to all my questions on the bikes. Nick set us up with the test ride bikes and was so friendly and helpful. He was willing to pull some bikes back down for us to retest sizing, etc. My dad and I ordered bikes that day and we set up our pick up and installation there in Mill Valley. Granted, we traveled 2 hours to go to this store. So that should be a testament to how awesome this staff is! Picking up the bikes was a breeze and they even accommodated me and added my ask for a tubeless conversion. They even installed the rear bike rack I ordered free of charge. Overall, we had an amazing time working with the team at Xtracycle. Thank you so much to Joe especially for answering all our calls, questions, and concerns. Xtracycle also has a selection of demo bikes from Priority Bikes. I scheduled a demo ride with them and Joe helped me pick out the perfect light weight electric bike that I know I can ride for life. I was able to order it to be shipped and delivered to Xtracycle to be assembled. Joe went the extra mile (literally) and delivered it to me in Sonoma County! Wow, life changing. I get enough exercise that is enjoyable and can transport the kids even in our hilly marin neighborhood. The kids love it and am excited to explore so many different areas. Lovely people and great bikes. Further away from us than Mad Dogs and Englishmen so we've only been a few times but they're great.

Our family needed a local kid transporter for two kids. We read a lot about e-cargo bikes and test rode here, and at Blue Heron in Berkeley (Xtracycle and Yuba). Eventually we got a good deal on a used Xtracycle on craigslist. Honestly as bikes go, I'd feel like I'd be splitting hairs between the last few models years of Xtracycle and, say, Yuba. Bosch or Shimano motors, frames are similar designs, prices roughly equivalent. But I really appreciated that the Xtracycle staff: (1) Did a long tour with their bikes with a staff member (Marie Claire) that really gave us most of the practical knowledge we needed to make a decision and feel good about it. Well worth scheduling and taking a trip. Blue Heron is good for test rides, but it was here at Xtracycle with Marie Claire there talking through different compromises and why bikes are the way they are and what matters and what doesn't that really helped us be like "okay we know what we want in a bike now". It's also just super fun and interesting to come in and ride a bunch of different e-bikes. (2) Give quick, intelligent answers to questions (multiple people, multiple questions) of both a general practical nature but also technical ones of service/upgrades/modifications. Just asked a question about buying a new kickstand and whether it would fit our 2015 bike, Marie Claire called me back within an hour and left not just an answer, but a comprehensive answer as to why the answer was what it was. Yuba gave me a mindless answer to the one question I emailed them, and it was like a week later; Surly a bit better but their organizational heart does not seem to be committed to electric cargo bikes. So just because of the people and the support, I'd say go with Xtracycle. Nota bene that test rides here (I believe) are appointment only, check the website. read more

Everyone we interacted with from the salesperson to email support staff to the owners were incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about their business. I am by no means an athletic person so I was not sure I was even going to be able to maneuver a cargo bike. Everyone at xtracycLe made me feel confident and cared for. The trial ride was a joy, the ordering process was super easy, and they personally emailed to follow up after I had the bike for a couple weeks. Truly exceptional Customer service. On top of which the bicycle (we got the eswoop) is awesome in every way. We ride it everywhere. My kids hate going in the car now. And I'm finally getting some exercise! read more

This place is wonderful. The guys there are super helpful and want you to love your bike. I bought a barely used Priority Bike a few months ago and went in yesterday to add a couple of accessories. Joe and Chris made sure my rack was level and that I could still reach the pedals. It took a bit of adjusting but they took their time to make it right. I bought my Xtracycle last November. It's been a great, high performing bike. The reason for this review is to highlight Xtracycle's phenomenal customer service. After a snag with my chain while riding to Xtracycle for a service, Joe drove out to Corte Madera in his truck to pick me up and take me back to the store. He even bought me a coffee from Philz (!!). He and Chris performed the tuneup, replaced my chain, and replaced the cassette - all free of charge. Very happy customer. read more

I found Xtracycle by accident--my son was doing Mathnasium nearby (btw, great markets and eateries are also nearby like Good Earth market, Red Whale Coffee, etc, as well as a Walgreens). I walked into the store on a whim as I'd been considering getting an e-bike after my husband bought a Specialized e-mountain bike at New Wheel and he was loving it. I had test rode a Specialized at New Wheel but long wait time for the bike had made me go back out into ebike research. At Xtracycle in Mill Valley, Steve Z. immediately approached me in a very friendly, casual, nonintimidating way and before I knew it, about 15 minutes later, I was off on a test ride of the RFA ebike with a helmet they provided, accompanied by Steve on his own ebike. At first we rode around the local streets, then when Steve proposed going on the bike trail towards Tennessee Valley, I said "sure!" and off we went. About 45 minutes later, I arrived back at the shop with Steve, during which we had a fun ride where I asked plenty of questions, and Steve delightedly and patiently answered each and every one with honesty. He encouraged me to continue checking out other ebikes, emphasizing that such a major decision should not be made lightly. He gave me his email and over the course of the next few weeks, as I test rode other ebikes such as Rad Power, Gazelle, and went down the rabbit hole of internet research into motors, brakes, tires, bikes, etc, we exchanged a number of emails where he answered my questions. I brought my son in to test ride again with him as a passenger. After a few weeks, Steve understood my ebike needs and desires enough to offer me my perfect ideal ebike-- a bright yellow 2020 RFA model with a more powerful Bosch motor. It was reduced in cost and Steve threw in a number of addons for greatly reduced price/free as well. I have a front basket frame with a zipup basket ,a rear seat with handlebars for my son, a cool bell, cellphone holder, water bottle holder, rear view mirror . I LOVE how my life has changed so much for the better since getting this bike! My son loves to ride on the back. I ride this bike nearly daily. I HIGHLY recommend Steve and his team (everyone I've met has been lovely) and Xtracycle at this particular store! read more
