The newsagents is open on Sundays, has all the papers, cards and old-fashioned sweets at the till. It also has a hardware shop (perfect for that random DIY thing you need) and a chemist. One of the chemists also has lovely gift things. It has a zumo in case you're doing your shopping a little hungover and sometimes there's a health-food/nut stall at the door. There's also a hairdressers. Merrion Centre covers all the bases and all of the "just-in-case" things that might occur to you that you need while doing your weekly shop. Parkings free with a maximum stay of 2 hours.

A quick addition to Natalies review…read more... again it is a fine place to shop and the opening hours of the Tesco are designed to make sure you are rarely if ever stuck (I have had several emergency nappy / calpol / milupa / formula drives at 11pm to prove it). However if you are driving into the carpark take heed - the first speed bump at the bottom of the ramp means business - I go over it at snails pace and it still jars the car something rotten!

The store is quite large, and you'll find almost everything you would look to buy in a supermarket. Has a nice deli section, as well as a really good butcher shop and a fish market. Carries a decent selection of beer and wine and spirits as well. Inside a small shopping center that has more service stores that shops, so convenient if you need to do a couple of things at once. The place is also open late (midnight on weekdays) which is rather convenient. If you're going there late in the evening, go through the side door or the basement parking lot door as the Merrion road door gets locked even though the store is still open. Quite clean and the staff is always nice. Forgot my card there one time, staff retrieved it for me. The wait at the cash register is rarely long. They might up the number of self checkout registers. There's often a line there.

Having moved I rarely come here anymore, however the other day I stopped in to get a few bits. I noticed they ahd changed the layout of the fruit and veg. Highly annoying, but thier perogative I guess. Out of 6 things on my list, I was unable to get 4. Yes folks, 2 weeks till Xmas, and they didn't have any turkey foil, or foil roasting tins for turkeys. What?? Also was unable to get the cat food I wanted, and the McVities biscuits for cheese box thats aalways out at xmas. I'm docking stars for not having the most basic items in stock! Boo!

H&M is a huge store all over the world - it operates in 34 countries and employs over 74,000 people...that's a lot of shop workers! Their stuff is young, funky and fashionable and everything from their kids range to their jewellery line is up to the minute, on trend and really cheap. Their store in Dundrum is split over 3 levels, with one floor dedicated to kids wear. I heart h&m!

Personally on my most recent visit I just couldn't be bothered and left without buying anything! I also noticed that the price of their knitwear (sweaters & cardigans) is higher than usual. Considering most knitwear doesn't wash very well I sure as hell wouldn't be forking out €50 for a cardigan. Think I'll go get 3 for that price from penny's!! The times that I have had to go through the visa process with the said embassy my photo amazingly is never the correct size. Oddly the photos of everyone that is there when I am there is never the correct size. So we are always instructed to get them redone at the Hamilton Long chemist across the road. They are well used to the drill, down comes the big white background, 'Sit on the stool there and try and make yourself look as ugly as possible.' The charge for the always unflattering photo is very expensive. There is something about paying through the nose to be photoed at your most hideous state that seems grossly unfair. Surely you should pay according to satisfaction. Other than that it's a small chemist with all the essentials. Staff are grand but I still hold on to that conspiracy theory that the embassy get a kick back for all the customers that they send their way.

First, the price is right, as you won't find a better deal in town. Next, this college campus community has everything; from bars, restaurants, and a convenience store you're sure to feel at home. Also, UCD boasts a rockstar staff, and you'll find someone willing to help you at every turn. Finally, yes the distance into town was a bear, but I soon discovered that a bus goes from campus to the center of town every 30 minutes or so.

Full shopping here can be costly and their selection is limited. You're paying for convenience essentially. The service here is pretty good, with attentive and friendly staff. Some stocking issues have come up and it can be hard to navigate around staff bringing stuff in. The ambiance is cramped, much better to shop at a full size store. Can't spend more than 10 minutes before lines and floor space backs up
