This was a place I liked to come a few years back. They often had the cheapest gas in the area (they sometimes still do) and the relatively cheap coffee was good (it still is). But the coffee used to be free the first of every month and it no longer is. The worst part of the decline though is in the inventory of snack cakes. Mrs. Freshleys used to reign supreme here, but now the shelf space has been fully usurped by Hostess and a few Pillsbury products. Poor substitution! There also used to sometimes be fresh baked local products at the front register but they haven't appeared for a long time. The quality of service has also not been as good as it used to be (when Chelsea was manager). While I will still sometimes get gasoline and coffee, I know longer hold the place in even slightly high regard.
IMPORTANT CAVEAT: The good coffee comes from the metal urns, not the glass pots. They have an extra-caffeinated kind I usually mix with the others. Definitely don't expect good coffee from the glass pots! read more
