Capital City Antique Mall came up in my search (well there was another but they are closed on Tuesdays), and I was very pleased to find that they were in a large warehouse with plenty of vendors. That just means tons of cool stuff to scour through! And indeed there was plenty of artifacts and fun finds to take my time perusing! There were a few items that I wanted but couldn't purchase for the sake of space or other reasons, but they were absolutely beautiful. The photos I've shared below are only scratching the surface of the gamut of items that you can find at the antique mall. I ended up purchasing some small items to add to my shelf of collectibles at home, including my very first glass insulator. The staff are nice and everything is quite reasonably priced compared to CA antique stores. We will definitely be revisiting Capital City Antique Mall the next time we are in SLC!

It's such a joy to wander around here and explore their vintage clothing, jewelry, knick knacks, and nearly anything you can dream of - all at an affordable price. Not only do they sell antique items, but I spotted some displays of locally crafted earrings and newer items in awesome condition. I come here to find a unique gift for special loved ones and always leave with more than what I was looking for. The employees are super friendly, which is a huge bonus. It's a great antiques store that's been open about a year and a half, run by an owner who is interested and passionate about the industry of antiques and collectibles. The store is packed full of rusty collectibles like farm equipment, old signs, some housewares and a small rack of vintage clothing, but mostly patina and rust, as the store name suggests, but all mostly clean and very nicely organized which made it easy to browse and look through (i.e. you're not scared of something toppling over when you're trying to look at something behind it). I loved the collection of vintage saddle blankets, antique French wire laundry baskets, vintage and homemade light fixtures, and old ladders. The store feels more masculine than some antique stores, and doesn't have a ton of housewares, which makes it fresh and interesting. There are large items out in the parking lot too. Owner Matt Binyon was in the store when I visited - he's friendly and interested in helping you find what you're looking for. He said some of the items in the store are booth rentals from other collectors and recommended some places I could look for bigger furniture pieces. He also owns American Rust & Patina in Layton, which has more furniture and Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, and I need to check out. This is a great asset to Sugarhouse! So glad it's here.

I've been buying from this auction for two years and have had a mixed experience with them…read more Sometimes an item or two is broken or not as described , but I've just dealt with it. Most recently, I bought 6 swimming pools from them and when picking them up I found a sticker stating one was a customer return as the package was "missing accessories or parts". They were good to keep though and refund me, for which I was grateful. When I got home, I found a sticker on another one that was also a return as "broken product/not working" and the box had "REFUSED" in marker on it from the last person who bought it at auction. (It had a previous auction number on it as well.) I emailed them about this and Robert Olson replied and LIED to me, stating all of these pools come from Sam's Club as refused by customers upon delivery. This was refused by an auction winner, not a Sam's Club customer and it's returned as a "broken product/not working". It wouldn't say that if it had been refused at the door by a customer; how would they know it was broken? That and the previous auction number written on the box by the statement "REFUSED" when none of the other pools I bought said this on them, tells me this is bs! Olson said it's sold as is and will not work with me. I'll stop wasting money here and would suggest the same to anyone reading this.

All types, and then others too, will likely love The Conjuring Tree. There are so many interesting trinkets, accessories, tools and gadgets that I enjoyed browsing. Many that were familiar to me, but some new items as well. The lovely staff member, Sage, was kind enough to give us a little run-down on the store, how long they've been around and some of the events that they hold. There are plans for a more formal tea gathering space in the back which will allow for even more amazing events. I love the vibe here and the friendliness that was extended. Even if I'm not sure what to do with all the cool things they sell, I'd feel very comfortable asking about the items and know that I'd be met with a welcoming, patient explanation.

The owner is friendly and happy to help, and the prices are reasonable. I came across the most amazing Danbury Mint bird collectible with some of my favorite species (such as the Cedar Waxwing), but I didn't end up getting it this time around. If collecting bottles or spice containers interest you, there are plenty to choose from. Upstairs were plenty of gorgeous dinnerware pieces, but personally I haven't started my own collection of that yet. Conveniently located close to I-15 in Murray, be sure to come here and spend some time browsing through all the knick knacks. You're bound to find something to take home, be it a small item or a larger collectible. We will definitely be back the next time we visit SLC.

Some were about par for the course for collectors items, sort of. Many were overpriced in my opinion to the point that I wouldn't buy them and would rather get them off of eBay or Facebook Marketplace. Such an interesting place, though. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

My dad recently visited salt lake and I told him to check it out. He said the same thing, and he's been to far more places than me, he's traveled the whole world and pretty sure every state. But he agreed, this is the best antique store. He then told me that the owner is being forced to close shop because whoever bought the building is increasing his rent from 8k to 60k a month.
