It becomes a he said/she said scenario. I had to cut off my hair to get rid of the damage done. Too bad theres no FDA equivalent for hair salons. Just have to recover and move on, once burnt twice shy. It was very traumatic for me.for the record this basement salon at eastwood mall NOT shangrila, (stefan) is great, should have gone to him instead.

By far, this salon…read morehas been the best place because they are organized first of all and has professional services all in one and a very comfortable vibe feel. I tried to be cheap but you get what you paid for, right?! This is located by the parking garage or in front of the outside Starbucks store in the Shangri-la Plaza Mall. Very easy to find as it's on the outside of the mall. They have two floors. They offer different services like wax, nails, massage, haircuts and color blends all the way to 7 colors!! I really wanted to color my hair fire red with flames! Hahaha My mom wanted her hair cut and colored white gray (3400 php) to blend with her coming white hair but she had colored her hair previously so Ernie suggested a blend due to her dry hair and because it was colored already. It turned out great!! It was a mixture of brown with silver highlights. Sometimes, in the sun, it looked really gray! It was kind of neat! He was very gentle with her which I liked. I mean he had the patience with her. They always offered us something to drink. While she was getting her hair done, they did her pedi (Judy) and mani (Joy)(750php) at the same time while waiting for the color to set. Many places in the PI do not have professional massage chairs for people to get a mani/pedi like in the States. I wonder why? They like to do all at once and go to where you are to get the job done quicker maybe? I had my hair treated (2800php) for long hair because my hair was getting dry due to the Philippines water. Tess massaged my head, back & shoulders, had my hair washed and curled for my hair treatment service. It turned out great. I also had them change the color of my feet and hand nails for 150 php ea pair; not bad by Beth. Thank goodness they had a big selection of good nail polishes but still limited to the colors I really wanted...but still! The nail polishes were not old! I also had an underarm wax (450php) by Eryl which she used the new gel type wax that smells like wheat. It didn't hurt at all but it takes a few times to finish vs a honey wax. I prefer the honey wax better for some reason as it also lifts the color of your underarms. All in all, if you are looking for great services and options, this is the place to go! I hear this is owned by a older Filipino basketball player turned actor?! Interesting! [15/100]

A couple of them recommended that I get my quick fix at the Bench Fix Salon on the second floor. Up the stairs I went and was greeted by the receptionist, who mentioned that the price for the trim was PhP 500--no problem. I was then pleasantly greeted by senior stylist Roland, who sat me in the chair and started chatting with me about why I was looking for a bangs trim. He began combing through my hair with his fingers, expertly analyzing the cut and the layers. I knew right then that he was no slouch--that he could make my cut much better. And voilà! He asked if I'd consider some shaping instead, as the rate was the same. Honestly, the price was secondary to me. I was already impressed with the way Roland handled my hair while analyzing it. So the answer was "Yes." I love that there was a different person who shampooed my hair--the massage was amazing. I sadly forgot her name. She has been at this location for 10 years. I want to emphasize that her role is serving as a partner to Roland. She preps clients like me. She also did the blow‑dry after the cut, at which point Roland came back in and started doing finishing touches to my hair at the tail end of the drying. The result? More life. More modern cut. More style. More swing. He didn't even remove an inch of length--just added shape overall. I loved it. I wish I could be at this place every month. I then resolved to: 1. change my stylist when I get back to the US--someone who can follow this cut; and 2. return to this location on my next visit--asking for Roland in particular. I also recommended him right away to a couple of relatives and friends in Manila. What a find.

I actually had my hair colored here first by one of my go-to hair stylists, Armand. While I do try other salons from time to time, I realized that Armand just knows what to do with my hair. And they don't charge hella high as well, unlike the higher end salons that promise gorgeous colors and amazing cuts. With David's Salon and Armand at the helm of my hair styling sessions, I am always guaranteed to get my money's worth. I'm not the only fan in our family. My sister has also been going here for her hair services, so much so that she's gotten a privilege card from David's Salon. This card gives her 15% off every service. I actually got one for myself recently. I know I'll be frequenting this place anyway so why not get a privilege card that'll save me some bucks?! If you do visit, ask for Armand. I promise you that he will be able to give you the cut and color you want! There was a time I just showed him a photo of a certain color I wanted and he gave me just that. I got a ton of compliments days after! Another thing I love about this place is that the staff don't sell hair products and other services to me. It's one of my biggest pet peeves! It's a relief to know that I wouldn't be pressured to buy anything before I leave.

I don't know who gave him the right to treat people this way. But I cannot let this pass without letting some people know of this bad experience I had when I took my 92 year old mom to get a trim the day before her birthday. Thinking that I'd pay extra to get the best haircut I can for my precious mom, apparently NOT! When I asked him to fix one side due to uneven cut, he gave a disgusted look and cut my moms hair close to nothing and try to cover it with hairspray until I stopped him. I intend to elevate this to the higher management and hope to get some awareness of how their SENIOR stylists get the "title"in their head. In fact even the person at the front desk agreed with this thugs arrogance when I tried to ask for the manager on duty but she's gone for the day.

It's got the range of products that meet my custom (Kerastase&Teknia) and the floor is always clean, no hairs and cords which can cause accidents. What a gem of a salon especially since I just live upstairs.
