My girlfriend and I used the Happy Glampers kit for a weekend along with two other couples, and had an overwhelmingly positive experience. One couple was experienced campers; the other was not. We fell somewhere in between, probably closer to "not", but the kit made us feel like we were just as capable as the experienced folks. Here's the "need to know": The pod is packed with everything you need to "glamp" for however long you choose. All of the basics are covered, and you get state-of-the-art gear. The pod is easily transportable (provided you have a car) and fits everything comfortably. You can set up everything in the pod easily so it doesn't matter if you're a beginner or a seasoned camping veteran. The service is outstanding - Nic came by in the early morning before I went to work (he was really flexible and that was based on my schedule), he answered all my questions thoroughly, and left me feeling confident that I could camp although I hadn't been in over 15 years. He also picked it up at my complete convenience, and wanted to know how he could make the service better - I couldn't think of anything except adding more cool gadgets to the pod (but that would be a more advanced ask). Reiterating here, the pod had everything I could want even down to the handy two-pronged roasting skewers for bread, marshmallows, or anything in between (it even had an ergonomic finger-rotating device). Some highlights on the materials: The sleeping bags are warm! You don't think about how cold it might get at night and boy was I glad to have these. We camped the last weekend in June where there were highs of 88 in Mt. Hood National Forest, but I still needed the warmth in the wee hours of the morning. The bags are mummy style - FYI, but pretty roomy all things considered (I'm 6'1", 190lbs). This is great for backpacking too (saves space). The sleeping pads also did the trick, and kept us off the cool tent bottom/earth. The chairs are portable in case you want to go hiking - they are compact and comfortable. They would do well in the backpacking pod as well. The water container is collapsible, and the steri-pen (my favorite part) allows you to safely use water from nearly anywhere. It's great for hiking and allows you to get water for your campsite while in the woods, if needed (also to refill if someone isn't frugal with the water). All in all, A++. read more

Compact outdoor fun - right to your door! Xscape Pod provided the gear to create lasting memories during my first camping trip. Snugly tucked into the sleeping bag, I slept comfortably on the provided sleeping pad. My partner and I usually fight over a queen size bed, but shared the spacious two person tent without incident :) It rained during the first night, but I woke up dry and ready to start the day. The provided mess kit was clutch when making a breakfast of fried potatoes and zucchini. After returning from a wonderful hike, the evening was enjoyed by roasting marshmallows over the fire and relaxing in the hammock. Pod highlights: everything fits into a compact ice cooler, the headlamps, and the HAMMOCK! The cooler is huge which is awesome! The camping gear fits within a dry bag in the cooler, take that out, and you can use the cooler to store your perishables for the weekend The headlamps were bright, comfortable, and made night walks to the beach a safe adventure. The HAMMOCK!!! My oh my, the hammock was a delightful experience! I spent mornings reading in the hammock and nights waiting for the campfire to start roaring in the hammock. I used XscapePod for a weekend camping trip in the Wallowas and it was the best experience! Nic was great about communication -- He dropped off the pod at my office and explained all of the details that I needed to know. The pod was easy to store in the back of my car and the gear was perfectly organized. I didn't have to think twice about packing because there was a list of everything that was included in the pod. Super convenient! I don't camp too often, so XscapePod allowed me to feel prepared for anything that came my way. Some of my favorite things in the pod included the sleeping mat (that made you feel like you were floating on air), the French press coffee maker which was great for camping, and the hammock that was perfect for an afternoon nap among the trees. I'd never been camping before, and when my friends invited me on a camping trip for their birthday I was a little concerned about how to properly pack and prepare for it. After some quick googling I found Xscape Pod - the perfect answer to my needs! Xscape pod provided me with everything I needed and more for a 2-day camping trip at an affordable rate (I split a two person box with another friend and it came out to $55 a person for the weekend). The gear was all clean and excellent quality, and often surpassed the gear that my more experienced friends owned. Nic even upgraded our tent for free to a bigger one. The hammock was a very nice touch as well! The pickup and dropoff process was painless too, and Nic was totally flexible on timing. Weekend camping trip for a friends bachelor party and i didn't have any camping equipment. I found a flyer for Excape Pod at my office and decided to check em out. The website was so easy to use and the camping packages have photos of everything laid out so you know exactly what your getting. The gear is great, high quality stuff.
