The female who gave the massage basically put her elbow in different places and held it there for several seconds. It was a joke. There could not be a more unfriendly or rude or nasty person than the lady who they have decided to hire there. She completely and totally ignored customers and myself. Let me start by explaining I travel through ATL twice a week. I love stopping and getting a chair massage every time my layover is long enough for one. I will go to every spa in ATL EXCEPT this one. The masseuse working today has given me two average massages before. I have always thought she was a bit "off" but I always do my best to kill her with kindness. In addition to being polite and telling her how much I appreciate her, I routinely tip 35-40%. Today when I walked in she was disgustingly rude. I came in to XpresSpa for a 20 minute chair massage for $50. I was greeted promptly and within 5 minutes of my check in, I was taken to my chair. The chairs are in the middle of the store- in between the nail station and the cash register so there is no privacy. I knew that I wasn't going to have a totally tranquil visit because I was in an airport. However I was not happy with the 3 employees that talked at the register the ENTIRE time I was in the chair. 20 minutes of constant talking that should have been saved for the break room. First of all, this isn't even the nail polish color I chose-- I chose a darker one but didn't realize that the nail tech grabbed the wrong color until she started putting it on. $35 dollars for a basic manicure which doesn't even include trimming the cuticle. I was early to the airport and then my flight was delayed multiple times. Instead of leaving the airport, I decided to give myself a little treat because it's been forever since I had a manicure. I've never had an airport manicure, so I guess add that to my list of experiences too. While the manicure price was $10-15 more than if you go to your regular tech, this place let you sit in their massaging chairs while you were waiting and for as long after as you wanted as part of your service fee. While I killed time and waited for my nails to dry, I got about an hour of massage and rest time. I observed the staff was very friendly to everyone and it was a calm and relaxing environment overall. I would go back if I was stuck in ATL again. This was the location at Concourse C. read more

I am flying today for the first time since the global pandemic began. I look forward to popping in here on long layovers. I was so extremely disappointed today. It is probably a local ordinance keeping them closed but there were no signs or notices or anything. I checked the app to find the locations and nothing was there. I arrived at one location and found it closed without even having a sign. I went about my business and checked the company website that still has hours and services menus. The Atlanta locations are listed there with no note that they are closed. I thought maybe I could go to the main location and have some luck. After making an extra trip to another terminal I then found the main location closed as well with no signs. I understand the pandemic limits but a simple sign or notice on the website would've prevented me a good chunk of wasted time. read more

However the girl was very nice and did the best she could. $20 to remove my polish $35 for regular manicure with regular polish - not gel. Seems very very expensive. I decided to get an xpres mani and pedi since I was on my way to Cancun. 3 stars for the mani and pedi. Granted they were "xpres" services, but it still cost me $75 and $90 with the tip, so I was hoping for a little more than the bare basics. I didn't even get a lotioned hand massage. I just had the best 30 minute table massage ever and I was fully clothed! Maurice was my therapist and he was absolutely amazing. He took time to understand my pain points and give me the kind of massage your regular therapist should give you. He was really patient centered. I have traditionally done the chair massages and they were always ok, but if you are going to do a 30 minute massage.... skip the chair... pay a little extra and do the table. You are far more relaxed, it's quiet and your muscles easier to work with while laying down. Best decision of my layover! You should only splurge on XpresSpa when you are desperate to get away from the horrid waiting area full of anxious travelers, crying children, and stoic business travelers. After noticing my schedule was way too busy to get a manicure before my business trip, I investigated to find out if there was a salon in the airport. Great news, one exists! I researched a bit, read some reviews, and decided instead that I would just use that time before my flight for a bit of relaxation. Upon arriving, I selected a 30 minute facial and a 10 minute chair massage. There are lots of options for varying budgets. The employees seemed starved for work because when I walked in they jumped all over me and wanted to know what services I wanted- and subsequently, who gets to do these services (and get tipped). I started with my facial. They put me in the back area in one of the massage chairs and laid it all the way back. Definitely a good massage chair! The facial consisted of lots of different lotions being rubbed on my face. I think they specialize in organic stuff because I couldn't smell most of the products being applied. I'm sure it's better for me, but I like things that smell like mint or lavender to relax me. Anyhow - the gal did a fine job of slathering on these lotions, although 10 of the 30 minutes was time for something to sit on my face. For $65 it seemed like a pretty easy task. I didn't feel especially relaxed afterward, but my face did have that nice facial "beam". For $65, I could get a longer, more relaxing, more "stuff" facial at local spas. On to my massage. They had some trouble understanding how long I wanted my massage for. I think I originally said 10 minutes when I was looking at the service list, but once I was sat down and they asked again, I just told them I wanted the smallest increment. They said, "Okay, is that 10, 15, or 20?"... what? I just went for 15. The guy who gave the massage was OK, but I had much better chair massage for much cheaper. Also, he was chit chatting with other employees while he was giving me my massage. Ughh- not cool. Post massage, they let me relax in the chair for as long as I wanted. I didn't want to stay too long, but I was relaxed while there- shoes off, blanket on, magazine out. I started thinking about how un-relaxing this place is. If you're put in the back, you're right next to windows with airplanes (i.e. loud engines) rumbling around. If you're near the front, you've got the hustle/bustle of the airport. I strongly recommend you bring your own music and headphones for ultimate relaxation. Then, I noticed my ticket said I was to be charged for a 20 minute massage. Wait- what?? I think I said 10 the first time, and 15 the second, but I definitely never said 20 minutes. I also had no clue how long I was actually in the chair for, but I felt like someone was just trying to get some extra money out of me and I did not like it. The service clerk fixed the problem, but I was still not happy. Lastly, I started following the business on Twitter. They had a promotion where if you posted a picture of your visit, then you'd receive a free gift. Well, they contacted me about my picture post, but I sent them in e-mail as requested and have had no further communication. What a waste of time. Overall, I would not recommend to specifically schedule time to go to this place like I did. If you are stuck on a long layover, or have a delayed flight, it *might* be worth it to go... but personally, I don't think it's worth the crazy prices they are charging. My friend and I were stuck in the ALT International Airport and were delayed so we had 7 hours to kill. We walked around to check out the airport, kill time and search for good food. On our tour of the airport we walked passed a Spa and the lady in front told us to come in and enjoy. We went after lunch and it may have been one of the best decisions we ever made. I had a 20 min Back/Neck Massage and a 20 min Foot Massage (my first foot massage without a pedi) The massage was on a massage chair and it was ahhhmazing. I was so relaxed and the noise of the airport was even drowned out because I was so into the massage. After that we were seated in massage chairs with blankets. I had my foot massage and it was phenomenal. After it was complete they told us we were welcome to stay in the chairs for as long as we desired. We stayed for around 30 min, I felt weird staying longer and I almost fell asleep =) The Owner or General Manager, it appeared, was walking around the entire time talking to everyone and asking about their experience, she even approached me and asked me if I wanted the blanket to cover my feet. How sweet? The only reason I did not give this service 5 stars is because I asked if I came back in 3-4 hours and got another massage, would I get a discount? Nope! I think if you are stuck in the airport and want to be a return customer in the same day, there should be some kind of benefit, I mean I spent $115 with tip on the services. - just a thought!
