Wonderful experience all around! This was my first time getting a professional wax after an at-home attempt left me traumatized. I originally booked for an "inbetwini" sugaring, but after speaking with Micky, she recommended trying a hard wax instead that she says is better for first-timers as it required less passes over the skin. I saw Micky and she was amazing! It was honestly the best Brazilian experience I have ever had. My skin is really sensitive so usually I have irritation etc after my Brazilian appointments and most likely have to wait a day until the redness goes away but after this Brazilian, I was good to go! The location is awesome and really convenient to get to. There is free garage parking as well as free street parking. I went on a Friday afternoon at 1:45 and found street parking right in front of the studio. The studio is beautifully decorated and gives a serene feeling. She also asked me what kind of music I liked so that she made sure I was comfortable throughout the appointment. The results were amazing. I don't think I've ever had a sugaring or waxing that had been this thorough or this smooth. Now that I see what a good Brazilian is, I can never try any other place out! Sugar Lips is the latest boutique wax studio in Atlanta. Micky has done my "grooming" for the last three years. No one else touches my brows but her. Her professionalism is top-notch. Waxing is an intimate experience and she goes out of her way to make you comfortable. The wax used is great even for the most sensitive skin. I've gone to her a few times right after a peel or exfoliation and had no problems (I won't recommend doing that though that's not a great idea in general). Located in one of the new salon studios in Atlanta right on Peachtree in what I call South Buckhead. You can self park for free or valet if you are feeling fancy. The building is secure so just ring the salon from the call box and one of the ladies will let you in and escort you to the studio. After a bad waxing experience with an establishment in Midtown some months ago, I finally plucked up the courage to go waxing again. Nothing big, just eyebrows and upper lip. I noticed Sugar Lips on the Yelp search results list and it seemed new to me, so I decided to trust the reviews and give it a shot. Booking the appointment was pretty straightforward. I spoke to Micky in the afternoon and got in for 7pm (yay for late hours). The place is pretty tucked in and impossible to find if you haven't been there before. But Micky texted me directions and I managed to get there alright. Once you park your car (yay for free and valet parking) you need to exit the building garage through the My Salon Suites entrance on the first level, and you'll get buzzed in through the call box. Once you enter, the place itself is clean and comfortable. I filled up the new client form and chatted with Micky. The entire waxing process took around 15-20 minutes for me. Micky was friendly and my eyebrows came out looking perfect. It was the first time since I moved to Atlanta last year that someone actually did a good job with my eyebrows. And I even got a lollipop at the end lol. I'll definitely be coming back here for waxing in the future, if I'm in Atlanta. It's not the cheapest place ($22 without tip) but I'd rather pay a few dollars more for a good, clean job. It's a new business so definitely give them a try and I'm sure you'll be happy. read more

After receiving a bad Brazilian wax experience weeks ago with the use of soft wax & strips, I thought I would have to go back to using a buzzer forever. One of my esthetician friends said to never use soft wax with strips but instead use either hard wax or sugaring. I went with sugaring as I heard it is better for sensitive skin types like myself. So, I've been coming to Mickey for about 2 years. Before coming I had the sort of ho-hum eyebrow grooming you might get as an afterthought at your nail salon or from the tweezers you keep in your car when the harsh light of the sun reveals truths about hair growth that your kind bathroom lights tends to avoid bringing up. Or perhaps, you've had some real grooming, but you are looking to get the kind of eyebrows girls post on IG ( no, not the wavy ones, the ones that all the other girls go all heart-eyed over.) If that is the case, Mickey is your girl. She will transform your eyebrows, give them shape, an actual arch, and generally turn them into the sort of eyebrows other people say, "Where do you get your brows done?" I've never had that sort of eyebrow before. I do now. My mother now goes to her as well. She's 70, so grab your mommas on the way to The Swan House, because they deserve great brows as well. Mickey also does my nether regions. For this she uses sugar. Sugaring is an ancient technique that...I can't remember, but there are fewer ingrowns, and this is what matters. Parking: there is a large free deck. I've never had a problem finding parking, but I usually just head to the second level. Free parking!!! Booking: Mickey is busy (because she's amazing) but booking is easy. You can do it at your appointment, online with style seat, or just send a text and see what she's got. Professionalism: Mickey has never been late, never cancelled an appointment, never tried to sell me on product or additional services. I appreciate this. Location: sugar lips is located on the first floor of a building that is made up of multiple microsalons. I get lost inside the building every time, but history would suggest that this is my fault. Pain: so removing hair from the down below is going to hurt to some extent. But, Mickey knows what she is doing. So, this means no yanking, no returning to one spot over and over until it is raw and angry, no breaking instead of pulling, no bruising. In short, if you've been to a house of horrors at other places (haven't we all?) you will find mickey's experience refreshing. Just a tip: there isn't really a waiting room for Mickey specifically, so you may want to consider that in determining what time to arrive. read more

Her salon is impeccably clean while the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, not clinical or pretentious. Appointments take place in fully private rooms, so you don't have to listen to the wails of overly dramatic first-timers or the small talk/overshares of the regulars. If you need any type of waxing service, book at Sugar Lips! I have been using Micky for waxing/sugaring after being referred by a friend a few years ago. Even when I moved to Texas in 2014, I found ways to schedule my return trips home to work in a sugar appointment! Micky's studio is always calming and impeccably clean. She uses natural ingredients for her sugar wax and the body care products she sells as well (scrubs, body oils, etc). I have never waited more than 2-3 minutes once I arrived for an appointment (seriously, I've timed it--if I even have to wait, she's just turning over the studio. Usually, she's waiting on me!). She always does quick, great work and my waxed areas are perfect. She's reasonably priced and has a loyalty program that is more than rewarding.
