I had been a long time client of the previous owner of this franchise, so when my deck needed…read morerepainting I contacted CertaPro for an estimate. The estimator was friendly and seemed proficient but the quote was a flat amount with no breakdown on supplies and labor. First red flag. I accepted the quote with my digital signature and heard nothing for a month. So I called and somehow he thought I had rejected the quote. Second red flag. He put me in touch with the scheduler and after several months (due to rainy weather) I was told to expect the painter in a week. The painter showed up. He only paints so could not replace one of the boards as per the contract. The estimator called me and said he didn't remember that a board needed to be replaced. I told him to read the contract. Third red flag. So finally the deck was pressure washed and the board was replaced. The painter used a paint sprayer and gave the deck a thin coating of paint. I can see paint chips that were incompletely removed from the pressure washing imbedded in the paint. It looks fine from a distance, but will need to be redone sooner than planned. So, no. I don't recommend.

CertaPro butchered my deck. The first group of people they sent to stain my new deck (Only 3 years…read moreold) pressure washed it so hard they broke boards and furred up everything else. I expected they would sand everything, but after I noticed they were taking off to spray before ANY prep work was done, I had to stop them before they did any more damage. They called back to the central office, packed up their stuff and left. Apparently these independent contractors weren't paid to do any prep. Which is absolutely insane. I had to show them on the contract where it said they were supposed to do prep. The second crew broke a step and my handrail. Then ran out of time because you can't paint in winter. So my deck was only partially painted (see photos), and very sloppily at that. They got paint on all the hardware after promising they'd tape it off. They promised I'd be the first job of the next year, but then wouldn't book me until June when they absolutely could have done it in March. They also pretended they were going to replace the lumber that they damaged, but they also hadn't done that because everyone knows you can't paint fresh lumber, so that should have happened well before they planned to paint. I had enough of it and ended up doing it myself because to remediate all of the damage they caused it would have cost thousands of dollars more. I had to replace at least a dozen boards. This is the WORST experience I've ever had with home improvement and I cannot imagine how anyone could have a good experience with them. Makes me wonder if the positive reviews are bots. No one at CertaPro had any idea what they were doing and when I actually had a conversation with the owner, I expected some level of compassion, but instead he was argumentative and he got sarcastic with me and said "if I would have brought a snow blower, maybe I could have done the job in January". It is unbelievable to me how a business this inept is able to continue. 0/10 - I wouldn't even recommend them to someone I don't like.
