I made a mistake of painting my exterior by myself and there were drips everywhere. I needed a team to come in and fixed the problem as soon as possible since my HOA was complaining. I painted my exterior with a semi-gloss black paint which required sanding and multiple coats to cover over. I was in a pinch & needed the walls repaired & painted prior to moving in, which only left Elmer & his team a little less than a week from the consultation. To add on to the obstacles, there was also a snowstorm that took away 2-3 days from the week. The previous owners of the house left a few nail holes that needed to be repaired in every room so I went from thinking I only needed to repair & paint a few walls to basically repainting the entire house. His estimate was the best, and his availability was the soonest to start. The job included spackling and sanding holes, sanding places the previous tenant spackled, painting every room. I've used Elmer, the owner, for small paint jobs around my house twice. His prices are fair, he does a great job, he's communicative, and available on short notice. He's a pleasure to have in your house; friendly, professional, even nice to my dogs. The second time he came out, which was today, would warrant a 6 star review if possible. He repainted my door, which he did a few months ago, but my dog had scratched it up. Not only would he not accept payment for repainting the door, but in the middle of painting, he assisted me and two women I was selling a treadmill get the treadmill out the door, including taking the legs off to get it through the door and loading it into their car. Even for this he wouldn't accept payment. If there were more contractors out there with his integrity and quality of work, I'd feel a lot better about the world as a single female homeowner who has limited handyperson skills. read more

I had Elmer and his team take on the very challenging job of refinishing my home's exterior. Before I bought the house it had been allowed to really degrade, so paint was peeling from the cedar shingles, there was some masonry repointing needed, and minor construction projects abounded. We received the estimate (which was very reasonable) on Sunday night and he said they could come the next day. The work was complete by Monday evening. He also takes credit card payments and does not require payment until AFTER final walk through. While $1, 800. 00 is a small amount to this company, it's certainly not a miniscule amount to me. Wonderful work. Called Elmer came out the next day for estimate by the end of the day I knew exactly what was getting done and how much everything will cost. Two days later they were working. On time everyday. I got almost my whole house painted ceilings, trims, holes patched and the work they completed was phenomenal. Elmer was very helpful would always get back to you fast via email or phone. His guys were very friendly and neat, cleaned up after themselves. After they completed the work I had a situation happen where someone made extensive holes and got my walls dirty. I called Elmer he sent over one his guys and patched up those holes and re-painted at no charge. I did not pay up front wasn't asked to pay anything down. Elmer and his team were incredible from the beginning to the end. I was having severe trouble getting a painter to even call me back until I e-mailed Elmer. Within 30 minutes I heard back from him and he came over that very night to give us a bid. Delightful professional and a young retired Marine as a bonus! Today they did the work and beat me over to the house by 10 minutes to 8 - nice and early. The guys worked all day - quiet and friendly and really fast. One even pointed out that one of the light switches felt hot and that we should have an electrician look at it. They put an extra coat of paint on one wall when they didn't think it looked good enough - all on their own judgement. My experience with this company was just OK. I did expect a little more given the excellent reviews on here. I'm not saying that it's a bad company to hire as they are very friendly, prompt, and affordable. I just didn't think they deserved a 5 star rating as I have worked with other painters that were more meticulous and thorough than this one. I believe they operate on primarily on volume, but they are great if you don't want to pay alot or need service right away.
