I stopped here with my family to use the restrooms on May 7th @ 7pm. My partner and son got off first to use the restroom. The female employee seen my son and partner enter the store and as 18 year old son exited the restrooms he was told by the lady there he had to purchase something, so he purchased a mouth wash. As I enter to use the restroom with my 6 year old daughter the same employee let me know we had to purchase something to use the restrooms with an attitude. I Said we would and Asked my partner who had already used the restroom and didn't get told anything about purchasing something, to please purchase something so she wouldn't be upset, she quickly responded I'm not upset you need to pay. So he did, he purchased two juices. Even though my son had already purchased something. I asked the same employee why she charged us more than once to use the restroom. and why she had to have attitude with me and my daughter and son about purchasing something, but when my partner had entered used the restroom waited for my 18 year old son and didn't get told anything , but was bias with my little girl who couldn't hold it , to purchase something. No one was there but us and she had such an ugly demeanor when I told her why charge us twice , she got in my face and told me to report it and get out, she also was blowing kisses and waving while standing in the front door. Such improper behavior (Side note) Her partner pulled up To the gas station and was there when the interaction happened and as I exited he went to his car as to get something (weapon) can't say for sure because I didn't stick around to find out. I called the store to put a complaint and the man who answered didn't seem to care. I always stop across the street at Pilot on my way through here. It's a good place to stretch your legs, get a drink, and use the restroom. Today I decided to try out the new Xpress Truck Stop. I went in to use the restroom and they told me I had to buy something to get a code for the restroom. I let them know I would buy something for sure but I wasn't going to take my drink in the bathroom with me and I didn't want to take it out to my car to come back in and use the restroom. They just said sorry it's how it works so I thanked them anyhow and told them I'd just go across the street. Maybe this business model is working well for them but I will likely never return here. I'm lol stick to Pilot where it's just easier to visit. If the owners see these reviews I hope they can realize that there is. Irving wrong with making changes to the business model to meet the needs of their customers. Or maybe I'm just not who they want to have spending money there and that's ok too. This is a new and clean gas station, but it needs a lot of work on the customer service side of things. They are VERY serious about their restrooms being for customers only. You must make your purchase before using the bathroom. They put the code on the bottom of the receipt. Although we were not given a receipt so he gave us the code for the bathroom. They also have no prices on anything. Like literally not one price for any item so it will be a "fun" surprise when you go to check out. Their gas is also $1 more per gallon than the Pilot next door. Overall I would recommend going to the pilot instead. This place is clean but a bit rude from bathrooms and no prices. Staff were friendly enough though. read more

This business will lose alot of money having this policy in place plus having the mouthy rude lady working there makes it worse. We had a horrible experience there. We got dropped off in front and my husband drove to the pumps to Put gas and I told lady he's putting gas, she said not until he starts pumping! I didn't have my wallet with me or I would have bought something right then and there. my child remembered she had apple pay and bought a bag of chips at the same time my husband started the gas. (I want my money back) $88.02 gas + $2.62 chips They are not beating their ethnicity statistics at all, "greedy". I was expecting a better customer service from a brand "Shell". Wow. Is everyone in McFarland so rude? Stopped to fill up our car on the way to Fresno, suffice to say that will NEVER happen again! We were the ONLY customers in the store and the only ones getting gas at 5:00 on Friday evening, January 22. We headed straight for the bathroom as our son pumped gas. The girl saw us walk to the bathroom in the back but said nothing. The sign on the door said we needed a code. Ok, she saw us go into the bathroom hallway, maybe mention that? So we came out and asked for the code. She said we had to purchase something, so I asked if filling up our car counted. Do NOT stop here! You should use the Pilot next door. I never write reviews but this place had the worst customer service EVER. As my husband pumped gas I went in with my toddler to use the restroom. I was told the restrooms were only for customers. I told the man my husband was getting gas. He let me use the restroom however there are signs posted everywhere warning customers that they may only use the restroom AFTER a purchase is made. When my husband entered to use the restroom after pumping gas he was asked what pump was used. My husband accidentally said the wrong pump number and the attendant told him there was no purchase at that pump. So he corrected himself and then was able to use the restroom. BTW there were no other customers at this time. It is super rude and frankly un American to not be a hospitable road stop. We travel a ton and have never been to a more rude truck stop. Absoultly the worst stop Ive ever experienced. I was traveling across the country NC to CA, cashier forced us to purchase befpre using thw bathtoom, when i mentioned we were gettjng gas, and other things she said muat buy 1st.
