At one time, this style of store was modern and different, when compared to the old-fashioned stores where clerks did all the work for shoppers. Now it seems small, cramped and dark compared to the vast shopping monoliths at the mall where you can get lost in the frozen peas and not be discovered for weeks. Aesthetics aside, Main Street always offers an assortment of sale items advertised weekly in the local paper. They somehow manage to compete with the big boys like ShopRite, PathMark & Acme. Their specialty is meat. They have real butchers on premises who can actually cut meat to order. Where their service really shines is the parking lot service to the elderly and "differently-abled". If you need any assistance getting your groceries from the store to your car, one of their cheerful staff is ready and willing to help. I know this is standard issue at supermarkets in many parts of the country, but in New Jersey we think differently: You can't pump your own gas and grandma has to schlep her own grocery bags at the market. It's probably why the store is a hit with the AARP set.

What goes on their subs are the crispiest lettuce, chilled tomatoes and fresh cut onions. Their maccaroni salad is the best but over all of this...THE EGGNOG BY HERITAGES is the VERY BEST in thw world in my book! We had to move to western pa, by pittsburgh and i can twll you right now, nobodys eggnog compares nor the sandwiches! Ill pay their peices because for me, its worth every cent. We liked our beers. Amigo Dan drives by Eddie's regularly and was very excited to try it. The cheesesteak had a bad taste. I think they had just made something that didn't agree with my cheesesteak's meat. It could have been the onions. In the name of science, I forced myself to take several bites to see if I got an upset stomach. I did not. I think it was the last thing they cooked.
