My daughter has been dancing at Xplosive Dance Academy since she was 2 and a half years old. She has now been dancing at XDA for 3 years and literally can't live without it. The teaching staff, led by Mrs Jessica, have taught her so much: respect, kindness, artistry, passion, perseverance, technique, and (most importantly) the love of dance. The level of dance at XDA is outstanding. The competition team's record (top marks across the board) and the beauty and quality of the dance routines is a testament to the skill and devotion of Mrs Jessica and her staff. The one thing that makes XDA stand out for me as the father of a 5 year old dancer is the kindness and teamwork that is emphasized at this studio. While I have always seen and been amazed at how the big girls take care of the little ones at the studio, an instance at a recent dance competition highlighted this quality that is instilled by the XDA staff. At the awards ceremony of the competition, photos were being taken of winning dance teams. I watched little dancers from other teams get pushed and shoved as older dancers jockeyed to get prime position in the photos. Often, their little dancers weren't visible in the team photos. This was sharply contrasted by the actions taken by the older dancers from XDA. They were helpful and selfless, lifting our dance babies, placing them in the front, and even holding them up in their arms, sometimes blocking themselves so the little ones would be visible in the photo. This kindness that I've seen isn't just from one or two girls either, it's a quality that's built into the XDA family. It's the kind of compassion that will make a grown man cry (almost ;) While kindness and respect are extremely important, XDA is a serious dance studio. Students are expected to arrive on time, pay attention in class, and treat their teachers and classmates with respect. Poor behavior is not tolerated and you can't "buy" your child special privilege. Their behavior, work ethic, and skill are all that matter. Speaking specifically about Mrs Jessica (the studio owner and primary teacher/choreographer), she is one of the best teachers my child has ever had. She cares first and foremost for her students. A prime example of her devotion to her students happened towards the beginning of the school year. In the Pre-Acro class, there was a group of kids that were more experienced than some others even though they were still at the pre-acro level. Even with a completely full class schedule, Mrs Jessica made time and created a new class so the more experienced students could continue to progress and the newer acro students could get the attention they needed. Any suggestion that Mrs Jessica gives anything less than 100% to the kids is completely baseless. So to summarize, XDA is an absolutely top notch studio with caring professionals that will give your child outstanding dance instruction and teach them to be little people we can be proud of. read more

YOU MUST READ THIS BEFORE EVEN CALLING THIS PLACE......SERIOUSLY Would give zero if possible. HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE. Owner of this business has issues. They want you to pay many months in advance for a recital and costume you may not attend or use. They measure for the costumes. December recital and the costume was way too small for our 3.5 year old girl. The respnise was that we should fix it ourselves. The owner was very aggressive about the situation and said she is very busy prepping for the recital. Guess individual costumer not important. She said they dont normally give refunds for anything, but granted us a refund. Gee thanks for refunding pur money on the costume she couldnt possibly wear. We left this llace around March having paid well in advance for a June recital costume....no refund again. We insisted on getting our months out paid for costume. This time it was demanded that we sign a form waiving xplosive dance of any liability with size issues or other problems with the costume.......WHAT????? They refused to give the dress without signing away our right tomhold them accountable. My wife examined the dress and attempted to leave with the dress we paid for and the owner violently prevented her from leaving the store. A number of other people have told us horror stories of their own. All involving the owner of this business. I never write these reviews but felt an obligation to parents out there. My kids have danced at Xplosive Dance Academy since the studio opened. They have learned so much from all the studio teachers but especially Mrs. Jessica. They've learned to respect their peers, teachers and dance as a discipline, inside and outside of the studio doors. Dance is a discipline, but can also be fun! Mrs. Jessica taught my kids this lesson early on and I appreciate how she brings out the best in them. My kids love to dance at XDA and enjoy the friendships they've made in the studio. As a thoughtful parent I am in the studio almost everyday and speak often with parents, kids and grandparents alike. Everyone RAVES about the quality of dance instruction, the progress all the kids are making and the outright amazing recital XDA puts on each June. No one can negate the quality of dance instruction, the technical nature of it, the passion these teachers have for these kids. XDA has become family for us. Attempting to tarnish the name of the studio for personal reasons when all these kids, parents, instructors and especially Mrs. Jessica only try to help and teach others the value of dance. This studio is worth every penny. I've referred many families who were dissatisfied with their old dance studios to XDA and all of them have been elated with XDA. If there was one thing I wish I had done, it would have been to enroll my daughter here much sooner. My daughter has been dancing here for three years now, and I can honestly say it is the best one around. The level of professionalism here is top notch, and they are not only teaching my daughter how to dance, but how to become a great person. The staff is friendly and caring, and treat all of their kids like family, whether you take one class, or 10 classes. There are no unimportant children here, and I can guarantee you they will be better people because of the owner, teachers, and staff at XDA. If I had one regret, it's that I did not find this studio years ago. I would highly recommend this studio to anybody that is looking for a place that will not only teach your child how to dance properly, but how to teach humility, caring, and compassion for each other. read more

I have a daughter that has been learning the art of dance at this studio since it opened. Ms. Jessica has been extremely selective in acquiring only the best staff for her students, and in doing so have allowed for students to receive top notch, professional instruction. Not only are they receiving the best education in the industry, but it's all about inspiration, art, and FUN! Our experience has been that our daughter wants to be there MORE because of the inspiration, confidence, self esteem, and empowerment that she's received under Ms. Jessica's guidance. If you're looking for a studio that truly cares for the well being (emotionally, physically, mentally, and socially) of your child, look no further!!!! After reading the one negative review here on Yelp I felt it was necessary to write my own review. We have been part of the Xplosive dance academy family for many years. The level of professionalism from the owner/senior teacher is unmatched. They teach these students not only the art of dance but also to believe in themselves. Makes them strong inside and out. It's a family oriented environment, a group effort. I whole heartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a dance studio. And to the person who left a negative review on here, please look in the mirror and ask yourself why would I leave my children in a place that is allegedly tormenting them for 2 years? Doesn't make any sense, maybe your the one who needs therapy. Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here! read more

They display enthusiasm for dance and a desire to share it with their students. Just an amazing studio I learn so much all the time and she brings in the best people ever. She has famous staff members she brings in and is an amazing person. But what the other person said isn't true she was just mad cuz she got kicked out the studio for her inappropriate behavior and horrible treatment to my mother.
