As other patrons have stated, Monica is one of the most talented dancers I've ever laid eyes on and also her business practices seem elementary at best. It seems she is not interested in any form of constructive criticism to respect her own brand, as I have just dealt with the exact same experience customers from 2017 and 2018 have dealt with. I've been a gracious fan of Monica's for about 15 years and recently I ordered a 4 pair pack of her dancer socks. I really wanted some and I really wanted to support HER business and get some of her swag. I placed my order on 10/17/22. In all honesty, before my purchase she does explain that prep and shipping can take 6 business days or longer, and I can understand.. i imagined she is a small business and black women do deserve to be human and not robotic. I waited 2 weeks before contacting her via email as I could not find any customer service phone number any where and received no update about my order, even though the receipt email states I should be on the look out for an email when my order is ready. Even on my emailed receipted that I was indeed charged for the product, there is no information outside of an email to contact. The auto generated email stated I should expect a response within 72 hours. That was one business week ago now, 3 weeks total with no response or information about my order. I am so disappointed in Monica's business practices or lack thereof. I've read some of her lengthy reviews, and try to empathize with her experience: the issue is, she does not seem to empathize with the experience, OR LACK OF EXPERIENCE her clients and customers are getting. All those words, and nothing real is being said or any accountability taken. It feels like such a shame, I understand it isn't personal, she is a human and has the right to function however she so chooses and I have to respect that. And, also I have the right to express my dissatisfaction in my experience of her brand. read more

I've been emailing her for SEVERAL months about my refund, for a class that was cancelled OVER a year ago, and she has responded with incredibly unprofessional responses. She told me to fill out the "refund request form" on her site... which I've already done twice..and yet SOMEHOW she still can't do her duty and refund people's money. She is not running a business, she is running a scam. read more

I signed up for a class on her tour in January. The class was to be held in April; however, she cancelled the class for low enrollment. Until this day (6months later) she still has not refunded me my money. I have contacted her through email several times regarding a refund of the money I spent for her class, and I continuously get an automatic generated response. Her craft is nice, but horrible business practices. Absolutely ridiculous! Suggest not paying for a class on her tours, you wont get that money back if she cancels. read more

Didn't take much to win me over. I love to dance so when I came across Monica's videos on YouTube needless to say I was mesmerized. It was surreal the first time I had the opportunity to take her class once she started touring. I live in Virginia, but my friend and I didn't hesitate to do a road trip to D.C. for the Xoticy Xperience. I admit the first few classes (I usually take all 3 or whatever number of classes she has scheduled for the day/weekend) had me questioning whether I could dance at all-but I didn't give up. Next stop, Charlotte..... I was getting the hang of it then. Today with more than 20 classes under my belt-I still find her choreography challenging BUT always fun and ALWAYS sexy! Monica always offers up a few life lessons and encouraging words as well. Dance from within! read more

If you sign up for any of her classes, you better hope it doesn't get cancelled. I signed up for a class in April that was supposed to be held in May, due to there not being enough participants the class was cancelled. We were notified via social media (and were never emailed) which was the first issue. Several emails were sent to her and each time an automatic response was sent back saying that refunds would be processed and refunded to the card on file. It is now November, and I still have not gotten my money back. She went on a rant via her Instagram account stating she didn't owe anyone anything, and it was out of the kindness of her heart that she is returning our money. I will NEVER sign up or recommend anyone to take her classes. Several cities were cancelled and I've spoken with several ladies that have said they have not received their money either. One lady said she contacted the studio of which the class was supposed to be held to find out if her class had been cancelled and was informed the studio was never even booked by Xoticy! I have filed a claim against them with my credit card company, and I suggest everyone do the same. read more

I have a son who has done aerials for a full year elsewhere. Because of Agora's policy and the way the children's classes are set up, they have the first and second tiers simultaneously. We were told that they would see if he would be advanced enough to place in the second tier within a few weeks. I've never noticed anyone actually take a second to evaluate any of the kids, but I have noticed some of the tinier, stretchier girls have been place with the second group. I get that girls are typically more limber than boys; but he is strong and skilled on the equipment.. Needless to say he's still in the first tier. So every week we go and every week he stands in line for approximately 30-40 minutes just to hang on a piece of silk or a trapeze or a Lyra for 15 seconds. We do this about 7-8 times and the hour is up. $160 for this for 8 weeks? It's disappointing. I guess my hopes were too high. Oh the other thing they get ya with is that in order for your child to be in the performance they have to register for the first course and that ends before the program, so then you must enroll in the next 8 weeks. I've found that most places offer either super advanced classes or else super-basic classes, with little in between. Not so here! Denise is very patient, but also demanding, with her students. Several drop-in classes are offered each week (primarily tap, but several others as well) for adults at all different levels. I know there are also classes for kids, but I'm not as familiar with that piece. The facility is beautiful - kind of a converted warehouse setting with several devoted rooms. The studios are also available to rent by the hour to others, which is awesome - affordable rehearsal space is always needed. Anyway, whether you've taken many dance classes or never put on a pair of shoes, reach out and ask what class might be good for you.

I attended an Xoticy workshop in Chicago and LOVED it! It was fun, inspiring, confidence-boosting, and I met a bunch of great women. I don't have formal dance training and was never on a dance team, but I was able to pick up the moves fairly well. At the same time, the experienced dancers looked like they also had a great time and weren't bored. Monica's enthusiasm is contagious. I hope to attend another event soon. read more

You will not be disappointed. This experience goes beyond a dance class, get ready to explore emotions and feelings you have buried deep forgetting they were there. Monica will challenge you to let go and towards the end your body will beg you to ... let go and ride the high. I attend dance classes when I can in Atlanta, Ga. When I do I have such a great time. Monica Wilson has an awesome way of making you feel great about yourself no matter your size or shape, has the sweetest most engaging personality and is a true pleasure to work with. I love Monica! The class was amazing and if you are willing to try something outside of your comfort zone I highly recommend doing this class. I took two back to back classes. I let myself go during freestyle and I wasn't sure if I would allow myself to donate at in front of strangers. But in the moment it was all about me and I enjoyed the experience. read more
