I appreciated that there was a lot of communication and support leading up to shoot because I had never done anything like this before and was pretty apprehensive. Additionally, the actual shoot was phenomenal, and everyone I worked with was incredibly welcoming and put all of my nerves at ease. Amanda (the photography assistant) was the first person I encountered. She was so helpful and made sure I was comfortable. I also found it impressive how easily she anticipated the needs of my photographer, Jenny, throughout the shoot. They worked incredibly well together. My hair and makeup artist, Joie, was so fun and had great energy. It really was the best way to kick off the shoot, and I felt so good after she finished up with everything. Finally, Jenny was an incredible photographer. I was so worried about posing and my pictures looking too staged, but she really took the time to show each pose first (with very simple instructions to follow), which was very helpful. I never felt rushed, and she got some really amazing shots that I thought looked natural. As a whole, they all hyped me up and made me feel so confident and sexy. Truly a great experience. Even my reveal session was amazing from a customer lens. Cynthia showed me my pictures and was so patient while I tried to narrow them down. She gave helpful advice when asked, and I left feeling like I had a solid set of pictures picked out (though it was hard to narrow them down because there were so many great ones). I cannot recommend Silk & Lace enough!

I spoke with an associate on the phone, she walked me through the process, told me pricing started at $950 and I wrongly assumed that much money would pay for digital images. After I paid a $200 non refundable deposit, I saw a price sheet that spelled out the specifics for keeping my images. Very expensive and very few digital images are included unless you spend thousands of dollars. I couldn't justify the cost of the experience for only keeping one print so I cancelled. If you're looking to do this only for the experience, I bet it would be amazing but I was hoping to keep the images as a gift.

I've worked with several photographers in NYC and DC in the past, and usually, they will rush you, take a few shots, and deliver ho-hum photos. Not John though, and that's what sets him apart from others. The first headshot from several months ago is amazing and I still get compliments. I came back for the branding package for my website(s), and I'm thoroughly excited by the results. I just got them the photos today, and I could not wait to write a review. The professionalism, the quality, and artistry are impeccable. John is a specialist with lighting and gives you slight direction to get the right pose needed for your photo. The result is a photograph that stands the tests of time and stands out from the crowd. He is an artistic genius, funny, and pleasant to work with. A true superstar if you ask me. It was an experience I will never forget and I walked away with what I consider to be high quality art and a collection of genuine, personal moments frozen in time forever. Alyona went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and that the process was as simple as possible. She helped coordinate and plan everything (Hair, make-up, clothing, location, theme) all the way from our pre-photoshoot consultation, through 2 weeks of putting outfits together and even helped me through the photoshoot with posture, posing and angles. You don't just show up w/ a bunch of clothes and take pictures, everything is pre-planned and carefully thought out & coordinated (together). The homemade snacks were delicious as well. When I was looking for a photographer online I was magnetically drawn to her work because she was the only one where I could literally see HER in her client's photographs. I was confident that she was able to see the absolute best in each of her clients and bring it out of them and capture it....which was very important to me. I am in the middle of a very personal and intimate project where I needed natural and genuine photographs to compliment it perfectly. I am not just satisfied with the final product, I am grateful to have worked with Alyona and to have shared such a special experience. I expected to have a few great pics, but I was so surprised to find that almost every single picture looked like magazine quality. All my family and friends are blown away.
