She looks forward to art class, it is a high point of her week. I'm always impressed by how novel the art experience is - and how rooted in art education the projects are. As was mentioned by another reviewer, there is free on-street parking along S, and the rate per class is comparable to other children's "art classes" in the DC metro area where all the kids do is color, cut and glue. Vermin, rodents, failing elevators, and failing equipment, etc. These things are at all universities so the playing field is fair and even. There are some great dining halls for dormitories, 2 on campus and 1 in Howard Towers housing a bit off campus. The Soul Food Thursday in the Dining Halls is AMAZING. The Bison Spirit and Pride is infectious. Long live Howard University! Go Bisons! HU...YOU KNOW!!

I chose to visit this gallery after my subpar trip to the People's House, which saved the day. It made me feel like I didnt waste a trip to DC for nothing.

His small studio on the 3rd floor of a brick row house right next to Cafe Saint Ex is as visually enticing as it is warm and inviting. It's also the perfect location to take a one-on-one art class - where you can learn about (and learn to create!) all different types of art! Miguel works with all mediums - from oil and encaustic to printing his own photography onto metal. A lot of his art pieces are for sale in his studio. He also does commissioned pieces, and recently created a 5 piece art installation for the front lobby of the "Church Place" condo building, located at 1520 16th St. NW, Wash DC. Miguel is also a very active member of DC's "Mid City Artists" collaborative, and regularly participates in their bi-annual Open Studios Tour. He's definitely an artist worthwhile checking out in DC!

I just completed a three day Introductory to Grants Management and Cooperative Agreements training…read more This training was in no way introductory. The trainer had to speed through the content and was even asked to slow down multiple times. This training needs to be broken into two classes with one actually having the introductory information and one with the rest. The trainer had to read to us from the manual and she read the slides to us. She did the best she could with the training materials provided to her. I would only recommend this course to someone who has experience in grants and cooperative agreements. Even the trainer was asking the participants how they usually run their grants and the different functions. Some of the participants were very well versed, meaning they were probably taking this as part of obtaining a certificate. Very unfortunate.
