I've worked with several photographers over the years, and Elliott is the first person who was able to really capture my natural smile instead of the typical stiff, posed headshot. He made the entire shoot feel easy and genuinely fun, and I think that made all the difference in how the photos turned out. One of my favorite parts of the entire experience was actually coming back about a week later to review and select the photos with Elliott. He took a huge number of photos during the shoot, and we went through them together to narrow everything down. Having him there to help with the selection process was incredibly helpful, and you could tell how much time and care he puts into making sure you walk away with the right shots. The final photos were exactly what I wanted--professional and polished, but still natural and actually looked like me. You can tell Elliott genuinely cares about his work and about getting it right for his clients. It was easily one of the best investments I've made in my business. I couldn't recommend Elliott enough, and when it's eventually time to update my headshots again, I already know who I'll be calling.

Elliott was terrific from start to finish, quickly answering my initial query and walking me through his working method. After an initial consultation, we set up a time to meet in his studio. To prepare, he sent advice on what to bring to the shoot. The photo session was fantastic. Elliott was great at putting me at ease; moreover, it was a lot of fun. A few days later, I went back to the studio to choose final pictures with him, and he produced the final photos in short order. I'm so happy with the results. I would work with Elliott again in a heartbeat.

He gave a lot of tips and guidance. You won't feel rushed, even when you ask a lot of questions, which I think I did (again, I was nervous). I received my photos with the touchups back quickly and still get compliments to this day. The headshots are a great investment, as I tried to take various types of photos that would align with different areas in my life (i.e. nonprofit professional, author, and small business owner.) The location was easy to get to. Wish I could have seen the pup, but there is always next time. I recommended Moshe to my place of employment, as they are looking to get headshots done for staff.

He really knows what he's doing and is a master at coaxing the best out of his subject, then helping them muddle through the enormous amount of material to pick out the gems with just enough input to make sure you're getting what you want, not what he thinks you should have (although I bet he'd be happy to pick out his favorite shots if you feel you need that level of input). Editing was quick and very responsive and I feel like I really got a great value for the money I spent.

You should be aware that the owner (Mary) is not the photographer. She has no knowledge of, or…read morecontrol over, the photographer's work. I cannot recommend this photographer. I paid $450 for professional photography for my daughter's first birthday, a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that cost over $7,000. I trusted this photographer to capture such a special occasion, but the final gallery was extremely disappointing. Many of the photos were taken from low, unflattering angles, had poor composition, or were unnecessarily repetitive. Several important moments were either missed or not captured well. What was even more disappointing was the response afterward. When I raised my concerns, the photographer claimed that the angles had been "edited to eye level." That explanation made little sense. While editing can adjust exposure, color, and cropping, it generally cannot change the original camera angle or perspective. A photo taken from a low angle cannot realistically be transformed into an eye-level shot through editing alone. The photographer also failed to avoid obvious reflections in people's eyeglasses. Can you imagine paying $450 for professional photos, only to receive images in which bright white glare obscures people's eyes and faces? Instead of acknowledging the problems or offering a reasonable solution, Mary, the owner, refused to take responsibility or provide a refund. This was my daughter's once-in-a-lifetime first birthday, and after spending over $7,000 on the celebration, I expected professional-quality photographs that would preserve those memories. Unfortunately, both the quality of the photographs and the customer service fell far below my expectations.

We were operating under a tight timeframe to plan a memorial service, and the team at Lasting Impressions Photography handled it seamlessly. Mary was exceptional to work with -- she was highly responsive, helpful, and ensured great communication, which was vital given our quick turnaround. Kevin was also wonderful. He had excellent communication to understand what we were looking for and captured the event beautifully (at two different locations), all while being incredibly empathetic and kind. His professional and respectful approach made us feel very comfortable during a difficult time. Many thanks to Lasting Impressions Photography for delivering high-quality photos for our family that we will cherish.

My boss, who is very particular on the types of photos we use for promoting the conference, said that every time she found a good moment to capture on her cell phone, Ben was right there already taking the photo. The photos were delivered post-conference in a timely manner and they are exactly what we had hoped for. If we return to DC for an event, we will be reaching out to DCEvent Photo. Thanks again, Ben!

Thank goodness for Dennis, whose competency and charm are pretty much unparalleled, if my headshot…read moreproofs are any indication. He has ensured that I will be taken seriously as a professional thanks to these headshots. For someone who doesn't love taking photos (case in point: my soon-to-be former LinkedIn profile picture is a selfie from, oh, almost a decade ago), I am looking at a batch of 'em that make me re-think my aversion to the camera lens. It almost looks like I am a natural! That's because Dennis was able to make me feel comfortable and relaxed, which definitely shows up on film. When you're laughing and talking about things you like and are important to you (e.g., rescuing a Corgi pup, eating super fiery spicy foods, traveling the world), your face shows it, and your smile changes. What an expert Dennis is for knowing that, and knowing exactly how to capture those micro-moments when your eyes capture that grin, and your smile catches that light. When I got to his home studio, Dennis explained how the shooting process would work, what options I'd have in terms of background and lighting, and even showed me a few sneak peeks that put my mind at ease. He's also extremely communicative via email, and is just the utmost professional on all levels. I had marked Dennis in my Yelp bookmarks for years, and now I'm kicking myself for not having gone to him earlier... so don't make the same mistake I did: book him NOW! You won't be disappointed.

We first went to Suna Lee Photography because our musician son needed professional portraits. From…read morestart to finish, Suna and her staff operated with the highest levels of professionalism, courtesy and artistry. We came to truly appreciate Suna's long-term approach -- she believes in a real relationship with her clients, which has been repeatedly demonstrated since our son's sitting. There were no surprises at any point in the process. Suna went over pricing during the initial phone call, again in our first meeting with her, and then once more when we previewed the photos. She walked us through all the various ways we would be able to purchase photos from her studio, including showing us high-quality samples of each. We left that consultation meeting with a printed price list, which enabled us to plan how we could buy the images we needed at a cost we could afford. We view these images as an investment, both in our son's music career, and as family heirlooms that will be passed along for years to come. Suna's preparation for the sitting was first-rate. It started in that first phone call, and carried over into the consultation. She took the time to understand who our son was, and how she could photograph him. She interviewed us parents, looked at our attempts to photograph him, and reviewed comparison photos we'd found on the Internet. She even watched videos of him performing before the sitting. The result surpassed our expectations. Suna didn't just get a good-looking photograph, she showed his love for music and the instrument he plays. It was if she'd peeked into his rehearsal room and captured a private moment. She handled the lighting challenge presented by his big, reflective instrument with a master's touch. One area of disappointment: We're in the planning stages of another portrait, but our family's schedule has made it difficult. We're disappointed we haven't made it back to Suna's studio...yet.
