Lots of people saying it's the best hotel in town, well it's the ONLY hotel in town! Stayed here for a friends wedding out in the middle of nowhere. The rooms were fine, the carpet needed to be replaced last year, the bar/restaurant was chill and was the nicest part about the place and the service was good there. The first morning the house keeper knocked on the door, and then preceded to open our door and ask us if we needed anything, the "do not disturb" sign was clearly posted. What really wasn't ok is that they did the SAME THING the next day. And this time she basically just barged in asking if we were staying another day or leaving, I was half naked pulling up my pants when she just came in. Obviously they can't read the "do not disturb." read more

I hold this establishment near and dear to my heart. I have been coming to this area since I was a baby- and even though we don't own our family cabin in Sugar Run, I still come and visit 1-2 times a year. The hotel is the BEST. Since they redid some of the furnishings, painted, and spruced things up a bit, it has been even more welcoming. I LOVE the tea room for breakfast-perfect from the little snacks, coffee/tea, to the Wyalusing Hotel napkins. The outside seating on the patio is one of my most favorite places to be. It is so relaxing sitting up there with coffee, wine, or whatever you choose! (Although, some people who sit up there do not know how to clean up after themselves.) The bar and restaurant are great! My husband and I are sad that Chris does not bartend anymore (he was AMAZING, welcoming, and very accommodating). We love the atmosphere, the food is always yummy, and we like to enjoy all that it has to offer. Owners- please don't change anything! Although it may need a good cleaning here and there, or a paint touch-up once in a while. I look forward to bringing my children here one day and keep making this a family tradition as it has for me. read more

When I worked at the Wyalusing Hotel we had to put the bread in the cooler at night because the rats would drag entire loaves across the kitchen and attempt to get it through the holes they chewed in the kitchen walls. There are constantly rat droppings all over products in dry storage. There was also a huge problem with bugs and no matter how many times the exterminator was there the bugs were never gone. There was food stuck to the kitchen ceiling for years right over the food prep and cooking area from former employees throwing it there as a joke and it was never cleaned. There is always about an inch thick mud in the walk in cooler and everyone ignores health code. The food is great though. enjoy. read more

We were attending a track & field invitational with my son's school and a friend recommended this place for dinner so we decided to give it a try. The building very beautiful and quaint. We had checked out the menu and they had a varied selection of items. We had five in our party and were immediately seated in the dining room right in front of the windows which was very nice. Our waitress was quick to get our drink and appetizers and very attentive. We noted a constant flow of patrons and figured it must be a popular place for locals, since Wyalusing is really out in the middle of nowhere. The problems came when we had to wait over an hour for our food. Over an hour for what amounted to cheesesteaks and a cheeseburger. No one ordered anything fancy. I was disappointed with my Beefeater which was described as "tender roast beef" but was slices of frozen cheeseteak on a piece of garlic bread. Two others in our party ordered the Steak Mozzarella which again was frozen cheese steak chopped up on a bun. The descriptions were very misleading. Had I known it was just cheesteak I would have ordered something else. The burgers were fine but not worth an hour wait. It's the only restaurant in town apparently, probably better than pizza or Subway, just be prepared for meh food and a long wait. read more

I am only going to give one star for the bartenders because they performed most of the services. I was passing through this town to visit with some friends. We haven't seen each other in a long time so we decided to go out to eat and to have some fun. Someone made the suggestion to have dinner at the Wyalusing Hotel. All of us took our seats at a table. We ordered some cocktails which were really good. After a few drinks, waiting on our appetizers, a man walked over to our table, to introduce himself. He shook my friends hand and said that his name was Adam. Now mind you, my group of friends haven't been together for over a year. Adam started interrupting our conversations. Adam was too drunk and had mistook us for another group of patrons? Nonetheless, we ignored him and laughed it off. Adam, then told us to enjoy our meals then returned to the bar to take his seat. That would explain why Adam kept interrupting our conversations. Adam was under the influence. The appetizers were OK but the entrées came out undercooked and cold. When Adam AGAIN, came back to our table to ask us how our food was, we told him how our food came out, but he didn't care because he incessantly kept rambling on and on. Once again, interrupting everybody in our group. Adam also kept going from table to table doing the very same thing he did to us. Adam was extremely disruptive to my group and to other groups. We even heard other patrons complaining. Then we all started talking together, and we found that he was the manager of this hotel. What manager drinks at the height of service? I would've fired him on the spot. Not only was he was drunk enough not to help out fellow staff members. Adam was extremely unprofessional and very disruptive. I'm sure Adam knows a lot of people in this small town too, wanting to be everybody's friend but when it comes down to business, stick to the business. THEN be a friend AFTER business has been concluded. Adam should be fired. He is not fit to be a manager. We will never return to this establishment. And considering the history of this hotel, and how beautiful it is, one would think to keep the ambience inside the same? Adam proved that he is not fit to interact with customers let alone be a manager. I feel sorry for the servers and bartenders and anyone who walks in, like our group did. And the food was not worth the price. Cold and undercooked food, cost over $160? They should all be ashamed of themselves. read more

I was on travel for work in Laceyville, PA and needed a place to eat for lunch. A couple of guys I was with (who knew the area much better than I) took me to this restaurant and I was thoroughly pleased. It wasn't a place that I would have wandered into on my own before this trip, but now that I know what is in there, I will be back for sure, if I'm in town again. The menu is varied enough with American style food that it is easy to find something you like, and may even take a while to choose between options. The ambiance is that of a small town bar, which means it's a little dark and feels like a hole in the wall, but it's actually quite comfortable in there. I entered in the back, so I don't have any opinion on the hotel itself, but the food was good and the service was great! read more

Stopped by on a Friday evening with my friend Leslie. Leslie ordered scallops and I had the fried haddock with the salad bar. The clam chowder was suburb and the veggies were fresh. Unfortunately the fried haddock was over breaded and had no taste. There was only one other couple in the dining room on a Friday night at 6:00 which kind of surprised me. Our server was very efficient and our food arrived in a suitable time. This is noted as the "best" restaurant in town, but I bear to differ as I've had better meals at Bob's and Robbie's at much lower prices. read more

Second floor hard to get to with baggage - rickety stairway. Rooms generally clean. Air conditioning just a basic wall unit but did the trick at this very hot time of year (late June). I've been here (eating in the bar area only) a half a dozen times for the past 3 years during October-November. It's down to earth comfortable and clean. The food is quite good and the cook was willing to make an off-the-menu item (cheeseburger club sandwich). If they are really busy on a weekend night, the lounge waitstaff service is slow and you can be ignored at a table with no one even greeting you for up to 30 minutes! But if you sit at the bar the service is more attentive. The burgers are really excellent - generous in portion including the fries. The dining room is beautiful (and probably an entirely different experience with equally excellent food). We stayed in a room one time and the walls were paper thin and the room was old and musty in decor. They are expanding the hotel now and adding more rooms so I suspect that the room quality will improve. Overall I recommend the Wyalusing Hotel. read more

I have a cabin up in Bradford county and go to Wyalusing every time i am up there. It is my family's go to place for prime rib, which is usually phenomenal. The bar is also fun to sit and hang out on a sunday afternoon. read more

This place is just so cool! I loved the old Cheers bar feel and it's such a great place to hang out, drink a draft, have some decent bar food and watch a game. Beer was ice cold in our frosty mugs. The pool tables are nice too. We had a great time talking to the bartender who was a war vet and just a super nice guy! The fish filet in the grill cheese was awesome and the chips were fresh. The burger was also good. On the downside, mozzarella sticks were the crappy frozen kind. Other than that, we had a good meal and we will definitely go back. We were disappointed we didn't see any ghost activity though... Maybe next time. read more

Sure, it's Wyalusing. What did you expect? But this place is lousy even for Wyalusing. 'Continental breakfast'? Which continent? None I've ever been to. Mini muffins and tiny Danish from the local grocery and instant oatmeal packets, no milk, do not a breakfast make. Dirt on the walls, no ice bucket..this would even disgust an oil field worker (their target market, I guess). Next time, I'll sleep in my car. Pleasant employees cannot make up for what the hotel lacks. read more

Restaurant and bar are very nice, but a bit overpriced. I love their chicken wing fondue, but every time my husband and I go here we somehow spend at least $50 just on the two of us, and we don't even order alcoholic drinks. While it is expensive, it tastes great, so I guess I can't complain too much. read more
