Stopped in on a whim after visiting Warp 9 Comics. My son-in-law has an interest in card tricks and I noticed this store as we were heading back to the car. Nice store with a lot of magic related items from books to kits to the tricks like hand buzzers. This magic shop is nothing less than awesome. It is everything that an emporium of tricks and illusions should be. The staff is great, both guys were very helpful and talented demonstrators of various tricks. I mentioned how familiar all the props seemed from when I used to visit a little magic shop in Ferndale in the 1970s owned by Romeg the Magician and then Poof! As if by magic they pointed to a photo behind the counter and told me that this store was in fact the second reincarnation of that very magical place from my childhood, transported to Clawson 40 years later. What an amazing coincidence that I should take my nephews to buy tricks at the same place that made me fall in love with prestidigitation all those years ago. I bet that some of the items lining the walls were actually the same props from all those years ago. If you love magic this is the place to go. read more

Awesome spot. The guy there showed me every trick before selling them to me, which made me confident that I was getting something that will wow. He showed me a trick where he split a $2 bill into two $1 bills that blew my mind. I bought it and everyone I show this trick to can't believe their eyes. This place is neat! I'm happy to live in such close proximity to a store that carries rubber chickens, fake mice, fake cockroaches, itching powder, whoopie cushions and all that good shit! I am quite the prankster, and love to cause a little trouble every now and again. For instance, placing a fake cockroach on a co-worker's mouse pad elicited a terrified shriek which could be heard from here to Timbuktu....or a fake ice cube containing a fake fly in someone's drink...gets 'em everytime! Haha! So much fun! This store has all that "small-time" prankster stuff (which is what I like) and also carries magic stuff for people that take themselves and magic a bit more seriously; if you fancy yourself a magician, check it out! Also, the guys that work there are cool (and cute!)...on any given day, they're demonstrating a magic trick, which is delightful, no? Yes! The moral of the story: help keep this place in business and buy some fake poop or vomit to delight and surprise your friends! This is a fun shop to browse around for hours. The staff are friendly and happy to demonstrate anything they have...on hand and opened to demonstrate to children or whomever. There is an endless supply of magic props, videos and whatever you could possibly want for some magic tricks. The staff was happy to demo all tricks after I purchased the kids for my nephew. My nephew loves this place, he's in complete awe and happy surprise every time we go here. He loves to visit Wunderground anytime he's in town from Kzoo, it's a must every visit. read more

This magic shop has a lot of magic & juggling product in stock. It is one of the best stocked magic, as well as juggling shops in the area. You could spend all day in there and still not see everything. A very unknown secret to many is they have a lot of used books go thru and if your in on the right time you may find a rare book/prop you have been looking for. Funny enough, a friend in California found out about this store online and checked out reviews for us when she heard my little is into magic. Thanks to her, we made it there today and my little magician was utterly blown away by the stuff he saw in the store. This store has all the tricks and magic things he's been coveting for a while. It's one thing to see it on a website and another thing entirely to see it all up close. Most fittingly, the gracious gentleman behind the counter with the cool tattoos and awesome mustache made my kid's day when he demonstrated some of the magic tricks. My kiddo gasped in delight and was chatting about his favorite magician and tricks in no time. The shop is about an hour away from us but we plan to go back again this summer! read more

I am giving the Wunderground Magic Shop 5 stars for very good reasons. I am a magician, and this is the main place I go for my supplies. Yes I could go on line and find the same things. But I would not get the customer service I get at this store. They carry a huge magic selection both new and used. If you are a budding magician this is also the place to go, because when you shop there not only are the staff magicians in thier own right but most of the time you will find magician shopping who will gladly help with most questions. No they wont tell you the secrets but they will help. Anyway I travel over 30 miles to visit this shop because its the best around. So go a head give it a try. read more

This place is awesome! My son and I went there yesterday. The guy there pretty much gave us a hour and a half magic show. Showing us stuff that they had for sale that my son could do. Once we picked out what he wanted he showed us how he did the tricks! Even after seeing how these tricks were done it still was crazy to see him do them again. We would recommend this to everyone. This place is soooooo much fun! They have so many cool toys and the magicians there are incredible. We walked in while passing by and stayed for over an hour! I am not a magician but when I needed some simple entertaining tricks and illusions for my show I stopped by to see if there was anything simple enough for a novice to use and sure enough there was! The sales staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He showed us how to work everything we bought. Now this place is truly magical (no pun intended). The owner is such a great guy that he showed myself and my girlfriend the building that used to be used to hide alcohol back in the days, and then showed us magic for a while. We spent about the 3 hours there the first time I went to it, and now I make it a thing to go to the shop everytime I'm in detroit (I live in Philadelphia). I've been a magician for over ten years, and I got to tell you, this place has everything that a beginner would need to what a pro would need. In the late 70's and early 80's I spent my paper route money and much of my time at Romigs Magic in Ferndale. I have so many great memories. 30 years later Paul and his staff have helped to keep my memories alive and make new memories for young and old alike. Wunderground is a great place to learn a new trick, pick up some fake vomit or just be amazed by Paul or Doc. If they would let me I would move in. I am 12 years old and I purchased a puzzle today at the Wunderground. The owner was mean to my brothers. He yelled at one brother because he opened a snake in a peanut jar. It felt scary to be in there. There is a sign by the register which says don't forget your free wand. When my dad asked if I could have one, the owner said no because I was buying a puzzle and not a trick. I spent $21 on the puzzle and I still didn't get a wand. Don't go there if you have kids. read more
