If you don't want customers picking and choosing items, you should prepackage your goods. We will never come back here again, do yourself a favour and avoid this place, there are plenty of herbal shops in Vancouver to choose from. The prices in Vancouver are much cheaper than what they pay for the same thing in Honolulu. They are also cheaper than in Seattle as well and given the USD-CAD exchange rate, the prices are even better. We checked out a different herbal shop nearby and many of the things were cheaper here. I feel like the bigger the store is, the better the prices are. So what is sold in these shops? Well there are some familiar things and some not so much. Shiitake mushrooms, dried anchovies, sea cucumbers are some of these things. Xing Fa Hang also has a good selection of Chinese medicines. The prices are better than the ones I have found in the International District in Seattle. Though higher than I found in HK, naturally since they are imported. They also sell candies by weight, cheap housewares from China and Buddhist ritual supplies. If you need to stock up on Chinese herbal products or medicines in the East Vancouver area, Xing Fa Hang is a good place to check.

The past 18 months were extraordinarily busy, plus strangely problematic, and I have been feeling a little too 'worse for wear' so I inquired about some healthy herbal reparation and support. In one of the small consultation rooms, Sun, a lovely Chinese Herbal Doctor, in his white clinical coat, took my pulses from each wrist (organ pulses) and prescribed a seven herb remedy. Consultation: 17$ Herbs- an interesting bunch of dried twigs, sliced stalks, roots and seeds?- for twice daily tea remedy, for one week wrapped in 7 brown paper packages: 77$ Sun told me to tell the woman taking payment that in China the 11th day of the 11th month is half price day! Pretty auspicious, I thought. Guess she didn't agree! She charged me full price. O well. =D Delightful to watch the two women measure out my remedy onto the 7 pieces of brown wrapping paper. I really like this product since I haven't been sick once for years after using this natural mushroom health product. This double pack comes with two free mini boxes of Mikei Red Reishi capsules. I was just shocked that when I was about to purchase the product, one of the staff opened the clear plastic wrapping and took out one bonus box (worth about 15 dollars) and kept it for the store. She told me that it comes with only one free bonus box, not two. I ended up believing this lady. I paid for the product and I went next door to another store which sells the same product. The guy at the next door told me that they just ripped you off because the double pack of Mikei Reishi comes with two free mini boxes of Mikei Reishi Red. I rushed back to Guo Hua and I demanded it back They didn't argue with me and the lady gave it back to me right away. I feel sorry for all the people they ripped off. This place has been around for a very long time. I don't actually know what any of these herbs do but they sure have a lot of them. I also noticed they have a lot of nuts as well here in bulk. The lady behind the counter was nice and told me if I was ever worried about fake white rabbit candy then just buy it in the official package. Sold! And for $3 a package it was a wonderful bargain. I'm not sure what all the other herbs here do, but if you're into that sort of thing but this place, like most places in Chinatown have a lot of them.
