Again i explained that i live in Aberdeen and not fesible for me to make an appointment. She said i could come back next week. REALLY, WHERES YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE???? Maybe time to look fir another bank. I have been a Chase customer for over 10 years and then closed their office in Aberdeen. Not happy with their willingness to open an account for me. I did try to open the account online but it wouldn't take my wife's information. May try Wells Fargo.

But also deposit funds, from another bank, into the new savings account. No one had authority to open a simple savings account. We would have to come back, later, or make and appointment. ??? (We had made a special trip from our rural home.) What is going on at Heritage Bank ? Recently, we were depositing funds, but could not get a small amount of cash because they could not get into the vault ??? On some deposits, the teller has to get authorization to make the deposit into our account ??? I called a couple numbers for Heritage Bank. There would be a wait of 20 minutes or more ??? I remember great service in the past !!! Follow Up. Met with the manager. They were having a "pop audit" on the day we tried to open another account. She was tied up with the audit team. On the follow up day, the manager was very helpful in opening the new account.

I have to transfer my money into a different bank because Heritage doesn't have branches in many places. It can be hard transferring money in/out because it's not recognized by some payers, for example dental insurance will not automatically take payment from Heritage.

They have always had excellent customer service yet, they have slowly succumbed to the phone tree, where it takes time to get to talk to a live person and you get transferred around a bit. I miss the good old days when they just answered the phone and you didn't have to go through a silly phone tree. They have great rates, which are competitive. Their loans process is quick and easy. The lobby is always warm, clean, and inviting, and staff is almost always friendly and efficient. I love how involved they are in the community and appreciate their support of community events and causes (scholarships, etc). I love their give aways (wrapping paper, calendars, etc). They lose a star because their online banking (desktop and app) are both OUTDATED and somewhat clunky. They have been saying for years they were going to update but it has stayed the same. AND it is frustrating that they charge you 2.50 a month to get a paper copy of your statement. It is a ridiculous and tedious process to remove yourself from that option. I tried calling to do so and was told I had to go online and click through a bunch of stuff to remove myself. I have had an easier time dealing with the IRS and that is saying something, Poor customer service there. Go back to answering the phone, update online experience, and provide options for opting out of paper statements by simply calling and it would be back to 5 stars.
