I cannot express how deeply disappointed and frustrated I am with my experience at WSECU…read more After spending multiple days working with WSECU to finalize financing for a vehicle purchase, coordinating with a private seller, making travel arrangements, and preparing for the drive home with the van, I was suddenly informed that WSECU doesn't finance cargo vans. How does something this fundamental not come up at the very beginning of the loan process? This wasn't a five-minute phone call or a simple misunderstanding. This was days of communication, planning, coordination, and wasted effort involving not only myself but also a seller who had been patiently working with me to complete the transaction. I made decisions, committed my time, and traveled based on the expectation that WSECU had properly evaluated the vehicle and the financing requirements. Only after all of that did they disclose a basic lending restriction that should have been identified immediately. What frustrates me most isn't even the lending policy itself. Financial institutions are entitled to establish their own lending criteria. What is completely unacceptable is allowing a customer to spend days moving forward with a transaction that was apparently never eligible for financing in the first place - even after approval. The lack of communication, attention to detail, and respect for everyone's time is frustrating. This experience created unnecessary stress, disrupted plans, and put both myself and the seller in an incredibly frustrating position. I am profoundly disappointed in WSECU and the handling of this entire process. This experience has seriously damaged my confidence in their ability to manage something as straightforward as a vehicle loan. If you're considering financing a vehicle through WSECU, I strongly recommend getting explicit confirmation that your vehicle qualifies before investing any time, making travel arrangements, or relying on their loan process. Unfortunately, I learned that lesson the hard way.

I never knew a financial institution could be like Olympia Credit Union…read more I was looking into different banks and credit unions to get a personal loan. I ended up making an appointment at OCU because of all of the places I called, they were the only ones whose phone number went directly to the branch itself and was answered by a human. I was able to speak to someone right away and got an appointment set up for the same day. My meeting was with Jessica and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We ended up spending three+ hours working out the details of my loan and I'm still not sure if this was overly long because Jessica never made me feel rushed or like I was an inconvenience at all. In fact, she was so genuine and warm that the experience was actually enjoyable. She answers all of my questions with knowledge and patience and made sure I really understood all of the fine print. Financially, I got the best deal I could have hoped for - with an APR so much lower than what I was quoted at even other credit unions that I am still kind of in shock. It was roughly a third of what [big bank] had offered as their "only if you have perfect credit history" rate. Jessica was flexible about what my payments and repayment term would be, working with me to ensure I could consistently afford them, and helped me choose the most workable payment date. I am confident and comfortable with this loan and know that, should I need any help or guidance, coming in or calling will be both a helpful and welcoming experience. Thank you, OCU. I am so grateful to have found you and feel incredibly lucky to have gotten such a great loan.

While I have a backup VISA here for emergencies I really STAY because of the outstanding customer service. Had a recent bump in the road the manager VICTORIA helped me navigate. She's so professional & working with her always feels like talking to an old friend. Now about those 1 & 2 star reviews I see here? Sorry but that's someone having bad days... you will NOT regret doing business here! When I see an exchange from OCU to a troubled customer stating that the reason OCU exists is BECAUSE OF CUSTOMERS banking there that makes me say EXACTLY... too many banks do NOT get that... OCU gets that! When I call & get Kali or Maddie it's always a delight to just hear their voice. Why? I know they genuinely care & will effectively & efficiently accomplish whatever I need on that call. Feels like family here, chosen family. In fact I like them BETTER than my blood family. LOL. THANKS EVERYONE!

They have always had excellent customer service yet, they have slowly succumbed to the phone tree, where it takes time to get to talk to a live person and you get transferred around a bit. I miss the good old days when they just answered the phone and you didn't have to go through a silly phone tree. They have great rates, which are competitive. Their loans process is quick and easy. The lobby is always warm, clean, and inviting, and staff is almost always friendly and efficient. I love how involved they are in the community and appreciate their support of community events and causes (scholarships, etc). I love their give aways (wrapping paper, calendars, etc). They lose a star because their online banking (desktop and app) are both OUTDATED and somewhat clunky. They have been saying for years they were going to update but it has stayed the same. AND it is frustrating that they charge you 2.50 a month to get a paper copy of your statement. It is a ridiculous and tedious process to remove yourself from that option. I tried calling to do so and was told I had to go online and click through a bunch of stuff to remove myself. I have had an easier time dealing with the IRS and that is saying something, Poor customer service there. Go back to answering the phone, update online experience, and provide options for opting out of paper statements by simply calling and it would be back to 5 stars.
