And when the nurse is digging for the iv it was hurting bad enough I was crying and he asked what was hurting so bad. He's a bumb ass. They had me on stroke protocol but had me get in a wheelchair when I had to have help walking. Dr Symonds said I had some kind of spell but he didn't know what it was. My daughter asked him about one of my blood tests and he looked dumbfounded. This isn't the first time I've had a run around with him. He has no business being a dr let alone an emergency room dr. I had started a new medicine and asked if it could be a reaction to it and all he said was I don't know. He said at least we know what it wasn't. What a stupid answer to finding out what's going on. So I went home with no answer to what was going on. The board said dr Symonds and dr Dixon were the Dr's. I asked the nurse if dr Symonds was the only dr there because I don't care for him as a dr. He was in the er 9 years ago when my dad fell and hit his head and all he did was an egg and lab and sent him home. He died 5 days later from a brain bleed. My granddaughter went in with a hip hurting he said it was growing pains. She had to have hip surgery for a birth defect. How could you say it's growing pains and why didn't he do a CT scan on my dad especially since he had hit his head and was knocked out. Anyway I was told he was the only dr there. Why was dr Dixon on the board if she's not there. As you can see I have good reasons not to want dr Symonds taking care of me. Like I said in my opinion, and I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way, he has no right to be an er dr.

my mom is currently at this hospital. the only reason is because of the roads sunday morning. this…read moreis her third stay since september. the nurses on the floor are sub par to put it bluntly. the cnas have much better bedside manner. the response times for not only the call button but requests for updates are ridiculous. my biggest complaint is that every single admission, every single day she has been in the hospital and with every single nurse or doctor or cna i have spoken with about my mom getting soup for her meals has never once been honored. it doesnt matter the day or time of the request she has never once been given soup. crmc food is even beow jail food or public school lunches. my mom barely eats anything because its unedible. i have brought her soup from home almost every day on her stays since september. last night, an angel nurse named mary gave my mom soup from the nurses lounge. this am i spoke w her doctor and requested yet again soup. today at lunch she was given chewy cold chicken and something resembling potatoes. would i recommend crmc to my worst enemy- never in a million years. i cannot describe my level of disappointment in crmc

Had 6 stents of projectile vomiting. Serious enough that we will have to paint the bathroom. Occurred again at 4:30. Husband took me to ER and Dr asked if I was nauseated, diarrhea, muscle pain. No to all. He said well you vomited a couple of times and we have had several coming in with that. I wouldn't have come if I had only vomited twice. It hurt my entire rib cage and then became very weak. He basically made me feel I was wasting his time. If it had not been for change of shifts and a second dr saw me, I would never go there again. I was given two bags of fluid and it took me several days to get back my energy and able to cough without holding my ribs. Had a similar situation several years ago and went to Hedrick and they gave me a medication for nausea and I unknowlingly was allergic to it. So they gave me a different drug and apparently allergic to it too. Caused me to have hallucinations and bouncing on the walls. My husband put me in car and took me to K.C. hospital where I remained for two days. Two trips and two bad experiences.

Will not be utilizing their services again.

Went to schedule mri and the mri office explained they didn't receive the request from the hospital in a timely manner and I'd have to request another from the specialist in order to be scheduled. I called outpatient clinic (within a week and a half of specialist appointment) because I didn't receive phone call from mri office. My phone calls to outpatient were transferred to voicemail for every call. I left several messages for return calls. I did not receive calls back. I did continue to receive a bill for a remaining balance. I had issues with my new medication and wished to discuss with my specialist. Left voicemails and never received a call back. Luckily was able to continue to refill said prescription to manage chronic health condition. A week ago I ran out of refills and my pharmacy has attempted and communicated to me that they've been able to reach my specialist for a refill. I called outpatient again today to try to get medication refill or even a response. I got a call back finally. Was told I haven't been seen since November, I didn't get an mri, and I won't be getting my meds refilled. I reiterated that I've called and left voicemails since November and haven't received any calls back. I also need my medications for pain management. To which the nurse replied coldly that she didn't receive any voicemails, and I won't be getting medication until an appointment is made. I have a communication advocate on file with the office as well and they are also unable to get in contact with specialist or assistance. This experience has left me feeling like this office doesn't care about patients outside of the office. I'd use patient portal for communication if I was even added to it but that information or opportunity wasn't extended to me.

So I rescheduled my appointment for April 19th and called to schedule a wheelchair accessible van for the 19th and they said they are out of service that day.
