We called the service connected with our car, but they had no one available in the area. We had called a number of people who said that they couldn't help us. In a moment of desperation, we called Tim--and he arrived quickly. He loaded our car onto his flatbed and took us to his garage. She broke down around 2:30pm and called AAA who said there was no one available to tow her back to Long Island, but they could tow her to a local shop. They gave her the run-around, no one was answering the call, and around 4:30 pm I started searching for local tow companies. I called a company called Wreck who referred me to Josh of Pollack's Towing (I'll leave a positive review for Wreck later). Josh answered the phone right away was optimistic, friendly, and gave us hope. He said they would look at the car and if they couldn't fix it then they would tow her home. Around that time the dispatcher got through to another angel (LadyTow, i'll leave a positive review for her as well). She arranged with Josh to tow my friend to him, and his whole team showed up and rolled up their sleeves. Josh and his team found a part store with the part they needed in-stock, and one of them drove my friend to buy the part, about 30 min out, then all the way back, while meanwhile Josh and the other guys were taking the bad part out of her car. They got the new part in and a new belt, and by this time the battery had lost it's charge, yikes! but they didn't give up, they worked on that too, and got her safely back on the road and on her way home finally at about 9:30pm. These guys are amazing!!! Thank you Josh, and may you and your family have a happy Thanksgiving day tomorrow! I know my friend sure will!

I called AAA and they tried to get in contact with Paul's Auto (who is on-call with AAA and is supposedly open 24 hours). Paul's Auto NEVER answered the phone when AAA called them and the AAA agent told me they do this quite often. BUT when I called from my cell phone he answered and said he will get in touch with one of his drivers and will give me a call back. You can only imagine how happy I was that someone was going to help me. I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM HIM. I called him back twice and got his voice mail. In addition, I couldn't leave a message because his mailbox was full. So here I was stranded all by myself on a pitch black ramp at 1:00am waiting and praying for Paul's Auto to call me back to help me. Also, the State Police called Paul's Auto and guess what? He never answered the phone. Finally, I was able to get in touch with another company who came to my aid at 4:30am. I have one message for Paul's Auto. Well, in a blaze of glorious sparks, he had to pull off to the side of the highway (which is a feat in itself let's be honest). As he gets out of the car to try and see what the actual F is going on he realizes that the vehicle has sprung a leak but unsure as to where it was actually coming from. After a little bit of fenagling he was able to unjam the offending object from under the car to see that it was up close and personal with the transmission and we now have a rather large issue. Luckily, he was able to limp the car to the next exit/gas station and able park it out of the way, but things were only getting worse. Now comes the realization it is after hours on a big holiday eve... and we also forgot to reup on our AAA subscription (my bad I will be getting on that asap). However, after a few phone calls and some google searches, we came across the listing on Yelp for Kaufman Towing with the holy grail of labeling of "open 24hrs". Within 30 minutes of finding the phone number and making the call we have the car parked in our driveway to wait another day to deal with it and the insurance. They were wonderful people, and the wait was microscopic compared to most as well as the price.
