I was told by the person that answered that she ordered them. She had not verified my name or anything. So, I asked her how that was possible if she doesn't know who I am. So, then I gave her my info. Again, she said she ordered them. I asked when I should expect them in-she said 1-2 weeks and that they would call me. I waited 2 weeks. No call from them. So, I call back-was a told again from the new person that they were ordered and will be in. I ask for a receipt or proof they were ordered since I have zero contacts right now and only a pair of broken glasses and cannot see or drive without them. Only thing I have is RX sunglasses for the moment. She said she would look into it. I never got the receipt. Then, since they have impossibly bizarre hours, I call back the next week. It's been 3 entire weeks now without contacts. I have a specialty type for astigmatism and cannot order them myself if I would have. I call back and told "they will be in" from the new person. I asked again for the doctor to call me or a receipt because I can't wait any longer. She said she'd have the Dr. Call me. RUDELY, the Dr. Does call me-but not with any solution or understanding. She consistently interrupts me and insists the "notes say that she called you". Your RX is expired. Well, my phone records do not show a call or voicemail from them which I checked religiously because I needed the contacts so badly. I checked my actual phone bill. They never called. No email. Nothing. I had already verified they had the correct contact info for me to rule that out. So, rather than apologize or come up with a solution the Dr. Consistently says she could not have ordered them. Ok, well are you not going address that I was consistently lied to or how to solve this problem? Nope. Offered zero solution. Only a defensive attitude and angry that I brought up the RX law that shows my RX for contacts can be 2 years at the Dr. discretion. It doesn't have to be 1. So, she easily could have came up with a solution. I would have even been open to quickly getting a full exam and having them rush order the contacts. But, NOTHING was offered to help this mess if a situation that was entirely their fault. Also, if my exam expired-why aren't you reaching out to me at all. Don't go here unless you want to go back into the past like it 1989 and you have zero communication. I will say, they gave me a good contact exam-but the new hire obviously is not trained and if they mess up, they take zero responsibility. I was consistently lied to. The Dr. Did not even apologize for that, instead just argued with me. So, here we are. I gave them multiple chances to fix this and they completely failed. I'm stuck without being able to drive at night until I can get some corrective lenses. Thanks for being sympathetic to a problem you created for me.

One day after the implantation my appointment with Dr Klisovic said , I was doing so well I did not need to come back. My pressures were. 10 and I was seeing perfectly out of both eyes. Next, I had to meet with Dr. Derick,a few days later.. At the appointment my vision was even better when tested by his nurse. My nightmare: Dr. Derick wanted to trim the suture that controlled the flow of vitreous, but not to sever the suture. My wife warned him if he cut the suture I could go blind. This foolish man cut the suture and said I would be fine. 12 hours later my eye pressure was "0", and I was blind. I remain blind two years later almost to the day. Doctors in Columbus and at Duke University confirmed Dr. Derick made me blind

She had expected to be seen by Dr. Derick after her surgery the prior day but was passed off to two very young people who stated they were doctors and had my aunt angry, confused and afraid to return. The fear of losing her vision had her terrified but Dr Derick contacted my aunt that same evening and asked her to come in for a second visit and would be seen by him. Upon our arrival we were were escorted to the back by the most amazing young lady named "Bree" . She explained every process clearly to my aunt so she could understand what was happening during her visit. She was so kind and sweet to my aunt and had her relaxed for Dr Deric's arrival to the treatment room. Dr. Derick, treated her with kindness and compassion and was able to explain to us, all the issues that my aunt had concerns about, giving her some comfort and relief. Initially she planned to go elsewhere for a second opinion, but after yesterday's visit, she will be returning with a new positive outlook!!! Thank you, Bree and thank you Dr. Derick!!!

The exact script: "I'm calling about your appointment next week, I'll go ahead and cancel it for you unless you tell me otherwise". To make the assumption that I want my appointment cancled, the appointment that I scheduled in person and made sure I scheduled the rest of my life around, is crazy. They call during work hours to proactively "go ahead and cancel your appointment for you", and I am not able to answer my phone during work hours. I recommend you change your language and use a simple "text C to confirm" service instead of doing me this passive aggressive "favor". I'll "go ahead" and find myself a different practice for my eye exams.

It turns out that the guy I used to go to has moved to another state, so I was on the hunt for a new optometrist. I called yesterday December 29, and they were able to fit me for the next day. Very convenient although I'm not sure if this is the norm. (very very friendly on the phone, by the way.) Upon showing up at 10:00am Dr. Weaver was 10 minutes late. At first I was a little disappointed until I learned that she had thrown out her neck and back the previous evening and had to have her assistant pick her up and take her to the chiropractor early that morning and then driver her to work. Why do I bring this up? Because any other doctor I've ever had would have just canceled the appointment and rescheduled, which would have been very inconvenient for me as I wanted to get in by the end of the year. This was awesome. I felt bad because throughout the exam it was clear she was in some pain, but she didn't make a fuss. 5 star customer service! Her exam was thorough and walked me through any scenarios I might have with my contacts (I've got a slightly special case because I wanted contacts, but work on computers 9+ hours a day which usually means I'm stuck with glasses) She answered all questions, was very friendly and polite. When it came time for the billing she was even willing to work through different payment dates/scheduling to get the best deal from my insurance. (speaking of insurance, I didn't see any omissions as to the providers that she accepts- all the major carriers were there) All in all a really great experience here and with Dr. Weaver (and her assistant, who's name escapes me), she's just such a nice person and very easy to work with that I'll definitely be back and highly recommend you check her out if you're in the market. Speaking of which, when's the last time you shopped around for a new eye doc or got a check up? ;-)

I missed the call from my awesomely concerned family doctor who had already reviewed my ER records despite the fact that it was a holiday and she was supposed to be relaxing. She wanted to have me come in for a follow-up exam. Since I didn't recognize the number and my voicemail box was jammed full, I didn't know I was supposed to go in. But on Thanksgiving, in the evening, when I relapsed into that toxic pain and shaking, my family called Dr. Rentel. She was there, and she had advice. She got me through the night and saw me first thing Monday. This is the most compassionate doctor. I love her to pieces. She has her patients' best interest in mind. She really cares about your health. And she's funny and easy to talk to. I have high praise for Dr. Rentel. If you're looking for a new family doctor, definitely try to get in with her. It will be tough. Since she's so amazing, she's always booked full. But if you happen to call the office when they're taking new patients, you musn't undervalue the opportunity. Jump on it! Dr. Rentel is the best.

They sent me away with anxiety meds. Needless to say, I didn't take them and went to see Dr. Rentel the following Monday. By chance, I was assigned to her when I was a student at OSU in the student health department. She asked me if I had allergies, to which I replied NO. She took a good look at me and said, "Yes you do." She gave me oral steroids and within 24 hours my breathing issues were totally resolved. Turns out, I have a severe grass pollen allergy that developed as an adult and procudes asthma. I'm now taking allergy shots to help build a tolerance to my allergies and symptoms. I wasn't crazy afterall!
