Turns out the owners did not take the Apple insurance but declined in my name without telling me so they could sell me their insurance! This insurance they sold me did not cover things the Apple insurance did. Apple Vacations told me that if I had their insurance, the trip would have been refunded immediately, in full. Because of the insurance they forged for me, I had to fight with everything to get my money back, they did absolutely nothing to help. The founder of Apple Vacations actually fought by my side to get my money back from the agency because the CL Travel owners, the Dougherty's, basically told me there was nothing they could do! So I was just supposed to eat the $5K I spent with them. I haven't used them since. I decided to try them again a few weeks ago after finding the Dougherty's were no longer involved. Another crap experience. I went in and told them what I was looking for but no one the receptionist asked wanted to work with me on this trip. They then put me with an older woman who had zero interest in my trip but went thru the paces to take my info. She could not have been less interested and it showed. I sat there, silently, as she typed in her computer, not asking much about the trip but doing something on her computer (solitaire?). She then said she would get back to me by email with what she found on the trip I was looking to go on. Being a big, pricey trip, I thought they might be a bit more helpful. It has been over 2 weeks and I received 1 email with minimal info for one small part of the trip, nothing else. IMHO, this agency is awful, avoid dealing with these people. I have talked to other agencies since and they have all been very excited about my trip, asking detailed questions and have put together fantastic itineraries. The difference is night and day. I am not sure how they stay in business if this is how they treat potential customers.

When you are spending north of $10K on a trip, you want facts, not fiction. She has been to Alaska and was very familiar with the details of how to make this a fabulous trip. (A 2012 trip to Italy with a different travel agent/agency, who had never been to Italy was a mistake I will never make again. It showed me that I need to find a Beth Levine who can enhance my investment.) Beth assisted a group of 10 of us on an Alaska land/sea cruise. She directed us to Princess, which was surprisingly good. We had done a previous cruise in 2005 on Royal Caribbean and expected Princess to be lower quality. We were mistaken. Food, service, cleanliness was all great. The entertainment is just okay, but you don't spend thousands on a trip for cruise entertainment. And for Alaska, you spend it on excursions to see this magnificent part of the world. If you can, tack on Vancouver for 2-3 days. The Butchart Gardens are spectacular; and dwarf anything that the Chicago Botanical Gardens has. Whatever you do, take a helicopter to the Mendenhall Glacier near Juneau. It's the best $1,000 bucks you'll ever spend.

We were extremely happy with the company and completely satisfied with the service we received! It was also the best deal we were able to find! We booked a limousine and a party bus for our wedding day. The limo was for me and my bridesmaids (booked to drive us to our "first look" spot) and the party bus was for the groom and his groomsmen, and then the whole wedding party after the first look. The limo came on time, even though we were running 30 minutes behind, the driver was completely patient and accommodating. He helped all the girls get in and out of the limo. After the first look, we all hopped on to the party bus. We were a total of 20 people. We all fit comfortably and had room to move and dance around. The driver of the party bus was extremely friendly, accommodating, and professional. The limo and the bus were both clean, and stocked with napkins, water, beer, and champagne. We were allowed to bring our own cooler with alcohol as well. The party bus had a clean, functioning bathroom in the back that I used twice with the help of my maid of honor. We went downtown to take wedding pictures, and we got there in a timely manner, even though it was the Saturday of the Air and Water show. I was really worried that it was a little bit risky to go to the city, but everything worked out great. The driver was extremely helpful and got us to Vernon Hills even a little bit earlier than we had to (we even stopped by to get food and more alcohol on our way back). We loved our experience with American City Limousine so much that we recommended them to my sister for her wedding (8/29/15). She booked with them as well and was completely satisfied with the service she received! I would highly recommend them!
