They did a great job recreating it (at a smaller scale, of course) but it's still amazing to see up close, and you're allowed to walk through the pillars here, whereas in the UK you can't get anywhere near the actual Stonehenge pillars. We were on a road trip and when I heard about this place, I knew we had to swing by and experience it for ourselves. It was only about 15 minutes out of the car, but when you're driving across the massive emptiness of West Texas, every cool stop is worth the chance to stretch your legs. Located on the campus of the University of Texas Permian Basin, these sculptures are perfect for the setting... the bright football stadium lights in the background certainly give it a different meaning. Lol. Yeah, it's obvious it was "mechanically-cut" not to mention "stacked with cranes." But the saving grace, Paul D. (review from 1/27/2020), is not that this is a free permanent outdoor art exhibit, but that this sparked so many questions from my daughters, ages 9 & 10. We visited on Good Friday 2024. It was awesome to experience their curiosity and listen to their hypotheses on everything from the real deal far across the pond to the planning of this development. This would be even better to view at night time in my opinion, but our schedule did not allow for us to stay longer. Seniors and graduate students of the college stopped by to capture graduation photos while we were there. Ample, free parking.

We received a tour as a homeschool group. The lady who showed us around (I cannot remember her name…read morenow) was fantastic! She knew the history well and made the tour a real treat. Some of the furniture pieces used to stage the house were real elegant and fun to see. They have an original bedroom set to the White family made of wood, in pristine condition, incredible! The rotary phone actually works and my child was able to make a local call on it. The house sits on the highest natural point in Odessa and grows pretty much anything they want to plant. The house has suffered some vandalism and made me long for simple days of the past where people had work to do and didn't go around cutting up other peoples trees and damaging property. All in all I loved this field trip offered to us and highly recommend going if you can. I know the city doesn't want much to do with this historical site, which is a real shame. If the city became involved this historical site might be here for future generations of people. I know they are struggling to keep it as it is. It's a real gem.

Perhaps some additional drought tolerant plants would really make his statue stand out. Next to the VA Permian Basin Outpatient Clinic, the memorial has minimal free parking spots. There was no reason why she wouldn't have booked a direct flight from Sacramento to Santa Anna. Instead they booked multiple layovers for us making a one hour flight into a five hour experience with a 3 year old. She booked our Disney tickets under the wrong name so we end up having to buy an extra ticket just to accommodate our party. We could of understood all of this had this been a cheaper flight but it was actually cheaper when we look to fly direct and what she had booked us. We will absolutely never again he $7000 for not even a mediocre experience. We were not able to get to both parks for the reservations we had made like we had been expecting to an end up having to pay for a reservation so we couldn't even get to. She said that she would exchange the ticket for a ticket with the correct spelling, but I would need to pay $300 (half of the difference for the tickets). I told her that I think the company should pay the $300 for spelling my name incorrectly. I asked her to change the tickets, and we can deal with it when I get home. However, she charged the difference (totaling $443.60) to my credit card without my permission. I personally think a company should take responsibility for their own mistakes. The agent should have checked the spelling of my name on my passport before issuing the ticket originally.
