I had no idea what to expect when I walked onto the ranch, and I ended up experiencing such an incredible day. 2020 has been a hard year for everyone, and this workshop was exactly what I needed to reground and get back in touch with myself and the world. I felt rejuvenated and refreshed afterwards, and highly recommend signing up for a workshop. We were a group of 3 women with our leader Andi, Horse Safety Manager Lisa, and photographer Jasmine. Master Chef Ed provided morning coffee (strong the way I like it!) and a delicious lunch on an open veranda. We had a full day of visualization and creative exercises lead by Andi. Not having done many workshops in the past, I felt very comfortable and supported by Andi (and everyone else), and I got a lot out of each activity. These exercises were interspersed with on the ground interactions with the Indigo Equine herd (currently numbering at 7 horses, 1 steer and growing). It was incredible meeting all of the herd and interacting with them. They are a motley crew to be sure, and have a lot share with their human interlopers! The day was very full, but we never felt rushed, and it was very relaxing. The ranch is just gorgeous and secluded, but only a 40 minute drive for me from mid-city Los Angeles. It was a great escape, and I left the workshop with useful tools to lean into for my day to day life (not to mention the beautiful journal, water bottle, hand sanitizer and mask that Andi provided at the beginning of the workshop!). All the activities were outside and felt very Covid safe. Everyone was wearing masks and respectful of social distancing (except for the horses!). I highly recommend booking a workshop at Indigo Equine if you are feeling a little ragged from the stresses of today's living. Take a day to let Andi and her team take care of you - you won't regret it!

This is a very experiential and hands-on approach to learning, but there is a strong Spiritual component to this work, as well, and it is why I wanted to combine these two complementary practices into one, more comprehensive experience.

We are so grateful for the great choice you made for us. Training was a breeze. He walks without a leash even when another dog is passing or a rabbit hops by. he will sit on place for as long as we want. He knows "scram" which means he can do whatever he wants but not be in the area like the kitchen while cooking or at the table while we are eating. We are working on some upgraded dog tricks. We brought him home in mid November 2025 and very sadly we lost our 30 year old son in January. It has been a rough road of grieving for our whole family. We noticed how absolutely loving and attentive Reggie was when anyone was upset. If I cry, he notices even when I am not making a sound and he comes over to lay his head on my lap and provide comfort. He is so calm no matter what is going on around him. He just recently passed his Canine Good Citizen test at 9 months old. Because of his therapeutic nature we are continuing training and are planning on him testing for Go Team Therapy Dogs in October. The folks at the Go Team have met him and think he is naturally perfectly designed to be part of the team because of his incredible gentle nature and chill personality.

Owner advised he was up to date on vaccines but did not provide any documentation and did not know when he had last received his rabies vaccine. Dog had sores on all of his joints and was underweight. Owner advised sores were from laying down aggressively on hard surfaces. Dog exhibited either muscle fatigue or possible hip/joint issues when walking or when being assisted into transport rescue vehicle. Owner advised dog was crate trained, however, based on observations since his rescue, that is not the case. Owner could not recall when he was last fed at the time of his rescue. Owner advised they no longer used a specific brand of dog food due to its rising price. The collar on him, which was super tight at the time, didn't even have his name on it but another dog's name. Owner did not provide any (read, zero) documents for him. Dog was also not fixed despite advising they (the owner) were retiring (from breeding dogs) and moving out of state. I hope we can give this good boy a brighter more loving future.

Dr. Polkowski at Comfortable Pets is The Best…read more She visited my senior puppy dog Boom Boom at my house & was so sweet to him. She spent over two hours with us. She examined him & performed various treatments (acupuncture, massage, Assisi loop, etc), but mostly she spent time educating me on how I could care for him better & understand what might be causing him discomfort. I've worked at an animal hospital for over 20 years & am super fortunate to have access to great veterinary care. My dog has a primary veterinarian & I work at an emergency vet facility but Dr. Polkowski was able to offer treatments & knowledge that I wasn't even aware of. She showed me things that I could do at home regularly to help Boom Boom feel better. I adopted Boom Boom from the animal shelter. He came with arthritis & soreness. Fortunately between Dr. Polkowski and Boom Boom's general doctor (at VCA McClave in Reseda), I feel I am better equipped to improve his quality of life.

The foster group (HIT Living Foundation - wonderful people) took her from a high-kill shelter after she was found wandering the streets covered in fleas and ticks and with a lame left leg/paw. She had a brachial plexus avulsion (tearing of the nerves) and wasn't moving the paw, leg or shoulder at all. Any vet will tell you that this is a very hard injury to treat and almost always results in amputation of that leg. Also, in general, Snoop was just not in good physical shape. I found Lori through a recommendation and asked her to come evaluate Snoop after I had been fostering her for about two weeks. I was nervous at first as Snoop is very people scared and only lets my boyfriend and I touch her. Lori, with her wonderful assistant/shaman, Hector (I am not a particularly mystical person but Hector has some super calming influence over animals - even my cat came right up to him and into his lap so I will call him shaman!) came to my home (all covid protocols in) and coaxed Snoop out of her shell and started treating her. Snoop has been getting acupuncture, laser, chiropractic adjustments and B12 shots all from Lori. Snoop looks forward to the visits and is always excited when they come. Also, Lori has trained me quite a bit and I do simple physical therapy exercises with Snoop throughout the week and give Snoop supplements. Honestly all easy stuff that takes about 20 minutes a day. Lori checks in in us regularly and we've now been working with her for about 6 weeks. And the results...Snoop is a different dog. She just started using her shoulder again and regaining some of the feeling in her leg although she still can't walk on it. But she is now full of energy and running around and navigating on three legs quite nicely. She's healthy and filled out and a puppy again. She also can pick up her leg more so she's not dragging the paw around all the time and I don't have to wrap in the house or backyard (only for walks or when we leave). Even if she doesn't regain full use of that leg/paw again, it's been totally worth it. Snoop won't need it amputated and the use of her shoulder is so great. She's also just so healthy and happy now. However, our fingers and crossed and we are still working on getting that paw working. Thanks Lori!

I am absolutely, unequivocally obsessed with cats. Frankly, I worship them more than the Egyptians…read moredid and I am quite sure they are Gods. In fact, I am throwing my cat a 5th birthday party literally at the time of this review (she gets a party every year!) and she is laying near me as I type these words waxing her kind, poetic. This means that any place that involves cats is a place I want to be; and thus: cat cafes is a trend I stand behind. A place to hang out with cats AND promote adoptions of said cats on premises? Yes, please! These cafes are growing in popularity and one of note is Purrmaid Cat Café, located in Camarillo a stone's throw from the famous Camarillo Outlets (on the way from Los Angeles to the outlets at the exit prior). Typically, not much positive can be said of social media platform, Facebook but just this once: I can thank them. My cat-loving algorithm is what introduced me to Purrmaid as I proceed to 'follow' the business and engage with the owner on her posts. I immediately knew there was something different about Purrmaid from their competitors and that I would someday need to visit. Purrmaid is the love project of husband-and-wife team Robin (who goes by Cat) and Jeff Kent who were locally known as animal advocates and top-of-the-line pet foster parents. Having dreams of opening an animal sanctuary; the universe opened the door for them as their friend Nikki, OG owner of Purrmaid was giving up the reigns and Robin and Jeff knew this was their time to shine and took over. The rest is history. Located in a busy but quiet strip plaza shopping center; Purrmaid is super welcoming the second you cross their threshold. The small lobby area is colorful, smells amazing and is filled with cat merch for sale from local artists. Refreshments (soda, coffee, water) and Robin's very own homemade baked goods are available for a small sum (and adorably, Purrmaid posts on their socials as though the cats pick the deserts for the day/week!). You must try these desserts! The selections during my visit were chocolate chip cookies and brownies and although these may sound basic - my boyfriend and I were obsessed! The cookies were chewy and soft with browned butter caramelization flavor. So good! Purrmaid isn't your typical cat café and is so much better. After signing a release and paying the $6/person fee (must be at least 7 years of age and children must be accompanied by an adult); you enter the cat room which eschews the standard clinical feel of cat cafes and is instead set-up like a living room which carpeting, couches, arm chairs plus cat towers, shelves and toys galore. Purrmaid is spotless (which my OCD approves) and has a calming, quiet, Zen energy. At Purrmaid, you will feel like you are simply hanging with Robin and her beautiful feline Gods in her living room! Robin and Jeff also have the best interest of the kitties in mind as the cats have access to a cat door to a back room they can 'escape' to when they don't feel like being around guests. Or, they can live out their wild cat fantasies watching bird TV. This is truly a Grade-A cat café. Even the bathroom was spotless and decorated with cats down to the hand towels! As amazing and obsessed with cats Purrmaid is; their mission is to find the cats a forever home and they take this very seriously with a $150 fee, application and home visit and adoption contract. Robin is not playing around when finding the perfect home for these cats whom often come from prior traumatic situations. Want to hold an event or birthday party at Purrmaid? Or attend one of their events like tarot card readings? Yup, they do that too! Purrmaid is an amazing facility! Purrmaid is a purr-fect cat café and Robin and Jeff are simply wonderful individuals running an amazing business. If you are even mildly obsessed with cats - or looking to adopt - you must visit Purrmaid Wed- Sundays 11am-5pm. Heck, you may even see me because I already want to return!

I had been going to Zoom Room for over 2 years and had experienced some different trainers, some of whom were good, some bad. Finally, there was some consistency with an excellent trainer, Cari, and so I purchased an annual membership. Over the past year I had worked with Cari, who was fantastic. She had an amazing talent for knowing what you and your dog could handle and needed and she prioritized safety and the overall experience. Unfortunately, Cari left recently, and I have to imagine the owner had something to do with it, as clearly this location is horrendously mismanaged. There was a period of time where there were no classes available, and we were never told why. Then randomly they announced "new management" and brought in a trainer who had been shadowing Cari for just a few weeks as the new Manager and solo trainer. I had briefly worked with this trainer and I was not very impressed with his training skills. I did not feel like I would be making progress with my dog any more at this location, so I contacted the owner Diego asking for a partial refund. He talked disrespectfully about his previous employees, ranted about me not giving people a try, and raised his voice, berating me about "what if you signed up for a membership at a yoga studio and your favorite instructor left" among other things. During this rant he also shared that the trainers they get are untrained and uncertified and they go through some basic training before coming on board which does NOT inspire confidence in the future of this location. I have NEVER been spoken to in such a disrespectful, aggressive way as a customer. This franchise is clearly not well run. While they might find gems of trainers like Cari from time to time, you might also get stuck with untrained people.. or possibly even NO instructors. As another review mentions, consistency in trainer is absolutely critical to progress with your dog, and while I understand there is some employee turnover expected over time, this location has experienced too much turnover to be acceptable. I truly did love my experience with Zoom Room while Cari was there but now I highly recommend you save your money. It's not worth spending that much money to potentially have to keep working with different, random, possibly untrained employees and be talked down to by the franchise owner who really needs to hone his business and customer service skills.
