I was a Certified Medical Assistant and a Registered Chiropractic Assistant. So I already took Biology classes and Pharmacology which consists of Chemistry at my previous college. I also worked with Doctors and real live patients. Pierce College refused to transfer my college credits from my previous college due to its accreditation. This ridiculous "oh it's nationally accredited and not regionally accredited", which is just a bunch of garbage. Nationally accredited colleges teach the same things. An example is Clover Park Technical College; their Pre- Nursing classes are the same as Pierce College and their Nursing program as well. I spoke to a representative at Clover Park Technical College and they said they would transfer my college credits from my previous college. So if I had attended Clover Park Technical College instead of Pierce College, I would've gotten my Associates degree by now. I regret I attended Pierce College. I should've went to Clover Park Technical College. The military promotes them "big time", and that's what got me caught going to Pierce College. Pierce College has a bias against Nationally accredited Colleges. How about Pierce College warn students of this before they attend? Tell us future students about how Uppity and snobbish you guys are about a previous college's accreditation so that we can avoid Pierce College. This college really deserves 0 stars, I had to put a star just to post my review.

There are numerous schools in this district. My son has…read moreattended two of those-here are my reviews for each: Evergreen Elementary School on Fort Lewis- 1 star the teachers obviously did not want to be there-or should have been teaching different grades. the principal was more concerned with following steps then actual problem solving. I pulled my child out of this school because of these issues and moved him to a school that I had to drive 20 mins 2x a day for drop off/pick-up. Lakeview Hope Academy- 5 stars! Loved, loved this school. This is a truly wonderful elementary school. The teachers and staff are all very dedicated to each student and will go beyond what is expected. I transferred my child here in Kindergarten after the horrible experience at another school. His K and 1st grade teachers were very helpful with the transition, and everyone worked to get him the support he needed. Unfortunately, We had to move out of state after 1st grade. Starting 2nd grade in a new state was hard for my child-we contacted his 1st grade teacher for tips, and during her summer break she not only sent helpful emails to me and his new teacher but also followed up with phone calls. It was very obvious that she cared about my child and getting him off to a great start. The front desk staff were always friendly and very helpful. ESL staff is also wonderful. This school is in a poorer neighborhood and that is obvious during pick-up time. However, it also means that they have great state funding. To me, the teachers and staff obviously wanted to be there and wanted to make a difference. It was worth the 20 min drive 2x a day for me to know that my son was in a loving environment.

I had tried a classroom setting prior and found it unhelpful as I was not a true beginner, but not advanced enough for higher level classes. Genevieve created a custom plan to fit me. We worked on all elements: reading, writing, and conversation. It was exactly what I was looking for! She helped me create a plan for each week to continue to continue to advance. She is patient, creative, and will challenge you to go farther. She's the best French teacher I've had.

It had been nearly 10 years since I had spoken or studied French regularly, and I wanted to find someone who could help me brush up on my French. Geneviève was a great match to what I was looking for in a teacher--she is warm, easygoing, and patient. She tailored our lessons to my language level--I am an advanced speaker so our weekly meetings (via Zoom due to the pandemic) consisted of friendly chats like two friends catching up over coffee, but entirely in French. However, when I wanted more help with the usage of prepositions, Geneviève had exercises readily available. Additionally, she would also assign me a topic to write about that we would discuss the following week, and she was great at choosing subjects that interested me as well as pushed me to use different vocabulary, verb tenses/moods, varied sentence structures, etc. After a few months working with Geneviève on a weekly basis, I feel like my language recall and fluency have greatly improved, matching my language proficiency I had attained while living in France. Speaking regularly with a native speaker like Geneviève is the best way to improve your French, whether you're a beginner or advanced speaker, especially if you aren't able to be fully immersed in a French-speaking country.
