Great school, currently attending it the food hall has delicious meals every single day. Always something different too! Have great little cafe's around campus and a great community as a whole. Students are kind and fun, the teachers can teach with the best of them. GO LUTES!!

The gym in the morning is clear a lot of the time. Just make sure there is no class.

I love PLU! Always have, always will. The students here are the nicest I've ever met. Like it just feels like they care and want you to be there. Now this might sound strange but they actually hold the doors open for you, which is a small thing but it has a really big impact. They are great community members and always there to help their students. During the school years they partner up with the local community in many different ways. Some clubs will go out and volunteer, others will put on performances for elementary schools. There are a couple students who volunteer at the local middle school as well. I believe the static is that 100% of varsity athletes volunteer! That's amazing!! Great place to be. All are welcome. Although they are a Lutheran University, all are welcome. Only 17% of student actually identify themselves as Lutherans. They also have great support for marginalized groups. The professors are amazing! They work great with students and actually know your name in class. My professor actually offered me a job one time because she saw my hard work in class and had a perfect job for me. Also PLU is very well know for their study abroad experiences. I know that played a huge factor when looking at colleges. I actually went to Australia in my time here. PLU is a great location for conferences. They have huge conference rooms that people can rent out. Also their food and dining is amazing. Whether it's for a special occasion or just their normal meal times I really enjoy the food. The chicken strips are bomb. The food definitely played a part in whether I wanted to come here or not. I mean, I would be eating this food for four years, I have to like it. PLU is here to support you! That's what their mission statement is all about. Overall the perfect place for me. It is a second home for me!

Wow, what to say about PLU. I graduated in '09 with a B.A. in Communication with an emphasis in conflict management and peace building. The communication department is hit or miss depending on which advisor and focus you want to do. I'm realizing as I'm writing this that reviewing a whole university is very difficult. I think I'm going to do bullet points. Pros: -You'll make the best friends of your life. PLU makes it really easy to become connected with other people and be involved on campus so unless you hate people, you'll love that about it. -There are opportunities to get involved no matter what your interests are. -The financial aid packages are generally good and they'll work with you pretty well to find solutions to gaps in funding. -There are several professors who are so educated and experienced about their topic that it'll blow you away. -The campus is gorgeous. -It has a great reputation, especially in the west coast, which looks good on a resume. -Even though it's affiliated with the ELCA, you wont feel uncomfortable if you're not Lutheran because most people aren't. Cons: -It's expensive, even after financial aid. Yes I did say they would work with you but it's still expensive. -Like I said there are great professors, but there are also some that should have been let go years ago and are completely useless. -The administration. Oh, where to start, Just about anyone who has any connection to PLU will tell you that the administration and it's ways are archaic, frustrating and set in stone. Filing forms or asking questions is such a frustrating process and will take you forever and they'll be grumpy, even if it goes smoothly. *Note* this wont be the case if you are a prospective student. They will treat you like a God and be super friendly and helpful at that point. The snotty attitude doesn't start until you're actually enrolled. -The neighborhood around campus is, well, not great. There are some fun houses to live in but in general the streets are not safe. Myself and man of my friends had our cars broken into on several occasions and the university is always sending out reports of muggings and assaults near campus. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at PLU and I often think back on it fondly and wish I were still in college. Granted, most of those experiences I miss were out of class or off campus but in general I did have a really good experience.

Through PLU, I was able to study abroad in England for January Term! I'm so thankful I got this opportunity. Thanks PLU!

Best known for it's sports games, including Spring Games for Special Olympians! The people there are nice, and so are the staff.

Our eldest is a second semester freshman now so our experience with UPS is still somewhat limited…read morebut so far we have been absolutely thrilled with the welcoming & progressive culture of the university, rigorous science, art and history curriculum, clean & safe dorm accommodations, healthy choices in the modern cafeteria and really gorgeous grounds. My Logger is thriving in every way. The cost is our only concern but I'd encourage families to apply for UPS scholarships and work study in addition to the usual FAFSA loans. There are opportunities for study abroad, intramurals and many clubs. The fitness center with swimming pool is remarkable. My kid is really happy here.

I had a great review for this place that got moved to the school's music department and so I'm…read morestarting over. UPS is a small arts school with some CS and other science and engineering majors. It does have sports too. It focuses on the arts and the music department is the shining area for the school. The ratio of professors to students is 11:1 so if you get in, you will have a lot of attention that you won't receive at larger universities. They do have dorms, even though it is so small. I have been here for a music performance and also just like to walk around the grounds on holidays when no one's here since they are well kept. I was accepted to Cornell but not UPS so don't let it stop you if you apply to this school and get declined.

This is a review of the Bates Technical College's Cafeteria Gallery Dining Room…read more The price: The cafeteria side of the restaurant is priced about average for what you would expect. The Gallery Dining Room is incredibly affordable. You can get a three course meal with a coffee for under ten bucks. The service: Culinary arts students are learning front of the house, some for the first time. This means you must be patient with them, they are learning. This also means they will be extra attentive so you will spend at least an hour here. If you're in a hurry, you should order to go or order from the cafeteria side of the restaurant. The food: The food is prepared by the culinary arts students. Sometimes it will blow your mind, other times it will be just okay. Be patient, they are learning and the cool part is you get to be part of the process. You will get your monies worth, no matter what. But I'm vegetarian: There isn't always a vegetarian item on the menu, but the students are always happy to accommodate your needs. Just let them know what you can and can't eat, but be clear. Not everyone knows that chicken stock or geletin isn't vegetarian, they are just learning, so ask specific questions and be patient.

They don't answer the phone. They don't respond to emails. It's amazing they have any students at…read moreall, with their lack of customer service.
