My daughter goes there and says it's absolutely amazing. The teachers and staff are the best, so…read morekind to their students and parent. Great PTA organization, and lots of completely educational field trips that the kids enjoy. One of their teachers even got nominated on Hometown Hero, and won! The school is small, but mighty. My overall review of the school is 'Go Mustangs!' (A mustang is their mascot)

There is a growing homelessness and drug addiction problem which is bringing in mental illness and crime. Housing is a tough find in the area as well. Overall I would say it's somewhat safe but need stories never used to take place in the town but there have been a few major ones in recent. The school itself is safe with a camera and locked down facility. It's visual release of children is nice in knowing that they won't be released to someone they don't know. The trick here is....PARKING!!!! If you don't show up AT least 15 minutes early, good luck! The teachers are great with the kids. I volunteer at times and notice that the volunteers here help make it a solid school. There's a great support system for these hard working teachers that you can see in the kids education. It's a coin toss on the area because it'll eventually put the school at risk which is why it received 4 stars and not 5.

Miss Nicole is a wonderful teacher, she is the heart & soul of this co-op. This is our 3rd year of…read moreco-op, I'm so glad we transferred our child out of our last co-op preschool and decided to try Puyallup Valley Co-Op. My child is happier and that ultimately makes me happier as a parent. As it's a "co-op" these responsibilities and duties fall onto the parents, there is no paid staff besides the teacher, who gets paid minimally and works hard, to provide the children with the best possible preschool education at a affordable price. Its not her responsibility to take home and wash the laundry, clean the restrooms, provide snacks, find substitutes to work shifts when parents don't show up, etc.. Its a collaboration of all the parents working together, doing their " assigned" and required "jobs".

I was very sorry to read the previous review regarding this coop preschool and would hope that…read moreevery family enjoy a wonderful experience with their child. I'm glad to say that I have a different experience and hope that others will consider this co-op preschool. I think the biggest challenge with this school (as with any school) is that there is turnover. When the oldest class graduates and leaves for Kindergarten, there is a void that needs to be filled by the two younger classes/new families. This adjustment takes time but with strong leadership, bumps can be smoothed out rather quickly. My 4 year old son enjoys the program a lot. He loves going to school and the teacher is wonderful. The families are amazing and I think that is a big factor -- involved families will make the difference. You can't be a member of a co-op and do nothing -- it will hurt any type of success for the year. An active and cohesive Board makes a big difference too. My son has already enjoyed one field trip and is learning a lot. This class is really preparing him for Kindergarten and as a newly Stay At Home Mom, it's great being involved in his class. I know that two of the classes are full this year but I hope that other families will consider bringing their child here for preschool. Disclaimer/Background: This is our first year (and will be our only year) at this co-op and I am a member of the Board. I decided to become a Board member in an effort to better understand the needs of the school and I wanted to be involved.
