My niece goes here and she loves it. Shes learned so much and they've really been helping prepare her for kindergarten next year.

Dee's Busy Bee's

(15 reviews)

I am combining my review so review/updates are all in one post…read more -10/19/2021: Today was my 2 year old daughter's 1st day at Dee's. I transparently informed Dee(the owner) about my daughter's developmental and verbal delays (she is Autistic). Dee assured me she had worked with children with delays in the past. At home we'd been working with an SLP & OT, who thought my daughter would benefit from exposure to her peers, as she hadn't been around other kids due to COVID. -When I dropped her off she was so happy! Dee wasn't there, her husband was. What he relayed about what I said/did or didn't say/do is beyond my control. I did remove my daughter from the 18 in tall table she hopped on. Less than 3 hours later, Dee text me asking if there was another way to communicate that climbing on the table was not okay. I called our occupational therapist we've been working with to see if she had suggestions. While on the phone, Dee text again telling me my daughter was no longer welcome at her facility because she crawled out of the pack and play provided for children still in cribs. I believe Ike cribs would be more suitable/safer for a childcare facility w/ 12 kids under 4 and a staff of 3-4. When I told our OT about the text I received, she remarked, 'A childcare professional should know it takes more than 3 hours for a child to adapt to new routines & expectations. It takes about 2 weeks! You need to get her out of that place!'" -Climbing is a superpower for development! It's a critical activity as climbing helps in developing gross motor skills, coordination, and balance. For toddlers, activities like climbing small structures or soft play areas are ideal. -I picked her up three hours after I had dropped her off. My daughter's shoes were on the doormat, and her bag was at the door. Dee said, "She is so busy, woof." I said nothing and gathered my daughter and her stuff. Dee said, "she just climbed right out of that playpen." I left without a word, irate that a "professional" was shaming my toddler for....being a toddler. -Later in a text, Dee explained that she did not have enough staff (her two daughters and her husband) for "one child could never be looked away from..." THREE HOURS. Dee has ZERO formal early childhood education, which might help her understand that a 2-year-old who has never been in a social situation/daycare because of a pandemic is unlikely to adapt to new social norms/rules immediately. Had she given my daughter a few days, she would have been able to follow the routine and expectations. -Dee Hubert kicked my autistic 2 year old out of her facility for doing activities that are normal and healthy for a 2 year old. I do NOT recommend this facility. I thought the hefty price tag (which is more than a private daycare in DuPont) was worth it because of the smaller size and play-based structure. My daughter doesn't bite, pinch, hit, kick or push and was likely busy because she was excited about all of the new stimuli. -Ms. Hubert had to post her response to my review of her business twice because her first response used my 2-year-old's full name, which is against the law. As a state-licensed child care facility owner, Ms. Hubert knows what COPPA laws are. She blatantly broke child internet safety laws. I asked Ms. Hubert via voicemail and text to take my minor child's name off the Internet. She ignored me, so I reported it to Yelp, who removed her response immediately. ****The most heartbreaking part of all of this is that in retaliation to my 1-star review, Ms. Hubert reported me to Child Protection Services (CPS) for abuse and neglect. She only reported me, not my husband, which indicates that Ms. Hubert reported me not out of legitimate concern but with lies that I could prove were untrue and would have won a lawsuit for Defamation. I was able to provide CPS with all correspondence between Ms. Hubert and myself, which proved that Ms. Hubert filed a deceitful, malicious, fraudulent report. This made me so angry because I had poured all my mental, emotional, and physical energy into my daughter and her delays. I was livid that Dee intentionally tied up CPS's time from children who legitimately needed their help. Dee knew what she was doing, and what we would have to go through. My oldest daughter sobbed begging me not to let them take her away from them. Dee knew that I would stay in the CPS system for 6 years. 12/4/21: Our caseworker called and told me that they had found no evidence of abuse or neglect. She said that her and her supervisor knew it was a fraudulent report the moment they received it, but by law they had to do an investigation. Then she asked me to be a Court Appointed Child Advocate. She had seen my integrity and selflessness and said they needed people like me.

The activities were fun and helped her grow, and she was honestly sad to move on. Children's Adventure Learning Center in Tacoma is absolutely amazing…read more I drive out of my way to have both my kids attend this daycare center. They do so many activities and fun things with the kids ... More than many other schools in the area and for the same tuition fees. I have had my kids attend another school prior to this and we're glad we decided to transfer our kids to this daycare center. Our friends have been telling us about their wonderful experience with this daycare center for years, our friends' kids attended this facility many years ago, but because Children's Adventure Tacoma location is far from our home we kept our kids in a school near our home. Last year we finally decided to check out their Tacoma facility and after we toured the facility, we immediately put down our kids registration fees and full month's tuition right away to secure my kids spots in this school. This daycare center is different from all the other daycare facilities we've visited. It is very clean, safe and organized. All the teachers and the manager are very professional and are great with kids. They are always kind and very friendly to everyone. We also love that this facility have many security cameras installed in classrooms and in their parking lot. They treat the kids as if they are family and my daughter begs to go to school even when she is sick and I have her stay home. We have been very happy and feel safe that our kids are enrolled in this daycare center even though this daycare is far from where we live. I recommend this daycare center to anyone and everyone! It's worth the drive out to this school!!!

Cadence Academy Preschool

We absolutely love Cadence Academy! Our son will be 7 months next week and has been attending 3…read moretimes a week since he was 12 weeks old. We are first time parents and like most first time parents, we were so nervous leaving our son while I went back to work. When you come to the door, you have to put in your security code (you provide upon enrollment). Then you enter in your code again for checking in and out. We liked that no one can just open the main door. If you are a guest, you have to ring a buzzer to get in. Our son is in the Infant room where the ages are approx 0-1. They use the Kids Report App to log our son's daily activities, which sends us notifications. So they document when he's eaten, if he has a wet diaper, BM, if they needed to apply any ointments, etc. They will also take pictures of your cutie throughout the day and send them to you via the app. They'll also send you a notice if you need to bring in more diapers or wipes. I've also been notified when he has a fever or if there is any cause for concern. They're quick to send notice and prompt to answer my call concerning the matter so I can determine if it's something I need to come pick him up for. In addition to the above things that I think most daycares should have, even though our little ones can't run around yet, they have fun, creative, activities for them. They had my son paint a pumpkin with his fingers. He did some finger painting of some snow flakes on paper. Then did some ice cube painting. They hang the projects up around the room, then send them to you when they switch out to the next project. Just fun things that, with 2 full time working parents, when you're home, you just don't get a chance to do because you're exhausted. I never expected this from a daycare. But they really go above and beyond in my opinion. And honestly, I think the cost is very reasonable. We couldn't pay a high school student this much to take care of our child while we worked. It would cost us more! Some people are concerned about the turnover. We just had a teacher leave and she was so great! But the other teachers are just as great! We love them all! And to be honest, turnover isn't necessarily a bad thing. Unless you're some sort of ultra special super being, I would imagine that you would be burned out from watching a ton of babies/kids for 10 hours a day, 5 days a week just feeding them, changing diapers, playing with them, having to be happy and smiley all day long. I feel like I get burned out for just a weekend with my 1 son. It's exhausting!! If the teachers were grumpy and my son wasn't happy when I picked him up, then I would be concerned. But it's quite the opposite! He is always happy and smiling. And sometimes the reason isn't because they're burned out, but maybe a better opportunity has come up for them. We plan to keep him here until he moves on to kindergarten!

Since I chose Cadence based on reviews, I wish just one parent was honest with the issues going on…read morehere for apparently many years even before we arrived. This place is a logistical mess. They are short staffed constantly putting care into constant question and they have to rotate students who can't come to school that day because they don't pay their staff enough at all to stay. Teachers leave all the time. New ones come in, then leave shortly after. They're good with the kids, but for the astronomical cost that they keep raising, Cadence should come with peace of mind at least that you'll be able to get to work and know your children are being cared for by happy teachers who aren't overworked and underpaid, and constantly rotated so there is no bond formed. The gaslighting by the director on how this "isn't that bad" is obnoxious and insulting. On top of all this, they'll keep accepting new students and taking your money although they can't even handle the enrollment they have. It's all about money here. Interesting note: another Cadence location in the area had a teacher walkout because of pay and lack of training, so this is a pattern in this company. They're based in AZ and aren't local. And no matter what Cadence tells you, this is NOT NORMAL. There are a multitude of preschools in the area who do not put parents through this circus. I would highly advise you look elsewhere. This school is not at all worth the hassle. I've included photos of just a fraction of the "short staff" emails we recieved and that they're limiting classes that day or a warning that you may not be able to count on them for the day. If you have a very flexible schedule with work and don't need to follow any sort of structure in your personal life, this is the place for you. And to the teachers who do stay longer than a few weeks: you're saints and you should be paid a living wage.
