The whole nine yarts?…read more I connect to here using Amtrak or Greyhound (usually the latter) at "The Bus", and these local buses will take you to the park or anywhere in the greater Merced area, so it's a great service for those that come to Yosemite without cars, which is a bad idea if you ask me, but this eases the annoyance for sure. You can catch these all over town (like colds, or corona), and you can get into town initially using trains or dog buses. Merced Transportation Center is where you'll catch the Greyhound buses in Merced. It's known as "The Bus", not really sure why. It used to be a Southern Pacific Railway Station for Greyhound getting to Sacramento, to the Bay Area and Los Angeles. And also you can get to Yosemite from here. It's in the heart of Merced and is small and does a good service for the buses and the trains. Right by the little old Spanish looking house, which is very Cali, so it works perfectly.

First of all, the facility feels outdated. I couldn't find a place to plug in. The waiting lounge was just a few office chairs. When I had to get on my return flight to LA, I arrived two hours before my flight. The terminal door was locked. While I had to call the airline to unlock the door, I feel this shouldn't be the case. There wasn't any beverages or food places attached to the terminal either. Also, while not the fault of the airport, having your flight delayed here is the worst since there's much to do keep you entertained less your electronic devices are completely charged

I was traveling by boutique air from Merced to Los Angeles and checked into this one. My experience was sort of balanced. There wasn't a wait everything was very smooth from check-in, to security (which is basically one small scanner), to get on my flight there weren't any problems. There was even a small table for me to get some work done while I was waiting. However, there aren't any restrooms in the room after you get past security. Additionally, when I used the restrooms they had, there wasn't any paper to wipe my hands after washing, so I had to use the toilet paper. Overall, this airport is really convenient for me and its services aren't too bad and definitely remind me that not all airports are super crazy busy international ones.

It was closed in 1995 as part of BRAC (Base Realignment and Closure). Currently, the general aviation airport is active, along with an aviation museum. My Garman GPS was useful in navigating the old roads on the old base. When I couldn't go any further, a security officer met me and provided escort the rest of the way. Security was very helpful and I got to the right location. Like all former military bases, the areas not in use may appear abandoned and rundown. It's very easy to get to from Hwy 99.

New tile flooring, crown molding, appliances, sheets, mattress, tv, toilet, pedestal sink, freshly painted and completely remodeled shower. Did I mention it also has recessed lighting with 3 switches to nicely brighten up or dim the lightening and 2 of those switches, located on each side of the bed have outlets and usb plugs, which is very handy with all the devices people have now a days! The new management is continuing upgrades and even though the biggest changes are inside, I felt 5 stars is deserved just from the big improvements and it will only get better! I pulled up, hotel doors were open and the groundskeeper and another employee I believe were just staring nasty scowels at me. I could care less, but it was extremely rude. I realize everyone in california acts "hard" but if they work there... come on. They guy running the place was very nice and courteous, but never at his desk/house part of this place. Always out and about the small complex, so to check in I had to go find him. 45/night, room included a fridge, shower, walk in closet, and very very small bathroom, which is fine for what it is. Cable, AC, Heat, NO wifi or internet. The bad part, everything is falling apart inside. All the furniture looks like its from a used garage sale, the carpet is not even installed correctly and pretty bad, the plaster work on the walls is horrendous, the curtains had burn marks in them, the TV was broken, tiles were mistached in shower and bathroom, grout has mold, the tiles were also broken and chipped. Basically, everything is broken in some fashion. The fly tape on the ceiling, well its there because there is a fly problem, which kept me awake... It screams stingy owner... If you want to get the feel of a still operating 50s hotel in havana cuba, this place is basically that. I would recommend not going here unless you really just dont care. 2 stars because everything "works", had something not it would be 1.
